What sorts of non-lovemaking activities and such did your characters bond over?
They spend a lot of time just talking - she has a way of drawing out his longer stories and really cherishes them (and the wisdom/advice that follows). Their favorite place to joke around has always been the kitchen. Their bonding usually takes place at night. They also do outdoorsy stuff together. Between Logan and her father, she caught up quickly on survival skills (the non-Brooklyn kind). Working together came naturally for them, because of their familial rapport and shared sense of humor - they're also both alpha/mentor types.
Shepherding the most wayward children/teenagers at Xavier's school. Long chats around the dinner table. Forge's outdoor Native time. Saving each other from disaster.
What sorts of non-lovemaking activities do they do together?
They have all-nighters (work talk or otherwise), they ride horses/ATVs, they do a lot of activities outdoors with the students, they spend a lot of time in Troy's gardens/greenhouse, and they're both competitive, so impromptu bets/challenges often break out. Oh, and they flirt mercilessly with one another.
Put out everyone else's fires. Unwinding and relaxing with each other. Putting boots into the correct asses - educationally.
What kinds of things do they talk about when they're together? Life experiences, music, their hopes for the school, inside jokes, their colleagues/friends, but rarely romance.
Anything Xavier's school related. Their feelings (he doesn't do that with anyone else). Share interest in the outdoors and being left alone.
What dreams and goals do they share? They both want to see Xavier's flourish, and to keep it safe and to help its residents be the best they can be. Their mentoring skills and patience are paralleled.
Being warm and safe with the people in their family. Being left alone. Not having to fight anymore - a better life for mutants.
What dreams and goals do they have that they do not share? Logan has an instinct to protect things by hiding them away from the world. Eva is more willing to let birds leave the nest and see how they do on their own.
Logan would retire to the woods and a log cabin, he doubts the cyberpath agrees.
How many children does each partner want? Have they discussed this? If not, why? They have only recently discussed this. Eva didn't think she could conceive, and their relationship has only just become romantic and physical. Ideally, less than more. Zap would be happy with 1-2 kids/pregnancies.
Logan hadn't planned on having children because mutants with his mutation are generally shit magnets. Yes, over many late nights around the dinner table.
What other plans do they have for the future? Which ones have they discussed? Why and/or why not? They've discussed living arrangements, and that they're committed to one another.
Logan plans to do whatever he can to protect his family, they discussed this at length.
What are the most difficult situations they have faced together so far? How did they overcome them? Uh, a plane crash into the Atlantic. They swam to shore and Logan brought Eva to Xavier's (eventually). They recently endured separation when Logan took the blame for some accidental murders committed by Lorna. Zap helped get him back out of jail - having dedicated the majority of her time to the task. Most recently, they found out Zap was pregnant, and are in the process of "facing" that situation currently.
Their meeting was a difficult situation, several attacks on the X-Men and the mansion, his incarceration. Together, that's how.
What are some of their best memories together so far that have nothing to do with sex or the development of the relationship? Zap would say when she knocked Logan off his four-wheeler "and won". There are also long truck rides when they wouldn't talk at all and just listen to the crappy radio and be chill. Zap loves those times.
When Logan would tag along on the Native adventures.
What things do they do that get on each others' nerves? Logan has a semi-permanent beer smell. Now that Zap's in his personal bubble more often, that gets annoying. She's fine with the cigar smell, though. Maybe cutting back a bit wouldn't hurt, though (only around her). Zap should probably shock Logan less, but he's such an easy target.
Eva has a habit of surprising him more than he's accustom to. She also makes him care about things he'd rather not.
What little personal quirks and unusual tastes do each have that the other is aware of? How did they learn about them? Logan found out that Eva likes to bake early on, thus spawning their late-night kitchen chats (and Logan getting noms). Logan learned she's a bit of a nymphomaniac by now, she'd imagine (a few weeks into their romantic relationship). She knows he likes beer - lots of it, the stronger the better - and has sought out some odd ones for him over the years, as well as some exotic cigars, which he usually just says are "okay, I guess". She likes to be held by him/hug him frequently, even before they were together. They trust each other a lot, and answer to one another, be that a quirk or not.
Logan knows Eva had a tendency to cyberpathically shop, read others' messages, drink too much wine, go days without sleep, and be fiercly competitive. He learned this by spending years around her. She has probably understood by now that he's very simple by nature, but moody as hell.
What views do your characters disagree on? How do they reconcile their differences in opinions? Eva has learned to accept Logan's points of view over time, even if they're a little antiquated. Luckily for her, his common sense is just as strong as his hearing or sense of smell, so they rarely butt heads on things like politics or religion.
Logan has a more isolationist view on things, Eva's more outgoing. Eva: "I'mma push him."
What sorts of things did they or do they get into arguments or fights over? Usually matters of personal safety. Occasionally they'll disagree about how to handle something school-related, but Zap lets Scott break the ties. ;)
How to handle difficult situations that involve students. Personal, self-sacrifice decisions. His clothes/decor.
How do they reconcile after arguments or fights? A wine-and-beer tete-a-tete.
They both cool off and then compromise.
How do they each react when the other is in pain or is troubled? What do they do to help the other? They both react similarly - make sure the one who is in pain is going to be okay, then go after whatever it was that hurt them. Murderer-like.
Come to the rescue and overreact. Anything they possibly can.
What is the biggest potential threat to their relationship? What is the most likely threat? From Eva's perspective, she can't see one. Not a single one.
Outside forces.
What would each partner be willing to change about themselves for the other? What wouldn't they be willing to change for each other? She would give up whatever she had to in order to keep Logan in her life.
Logan would agree to all of the superficial changes - clothes, living environment, cigars, beer drinking, etc. The values and ideals that make up his character as a person he would not change, and knows Eva would never ask him to.
