Did they truly dine like this every night? Rhiannon wondered this on several occasions since she began her stay on (in?) Alfheim. It'd been a week and she was sure she'd gained at least ten pounds - or more. It was probably more. She'd already risen from her seat when she heard Skadi address her. That was a surprise and it registered as such on her face. "Sure," said the unofficial princess and returned the wintry goddess' smile with one of her own. This would mark the first time the twosome ever spoke to each other alone. Right? Rhia couldn't recall ever having been left in a room alone with the Queen. That was... weird."What's on your mind?"
Rhiannon would be reluctant to admit that the past had a firm grip on her present - being one to promote the 'living in the now and looking to the future' outlook on life, it was terribly embarrassing. And being far more prideful than she ever let on, she often pretended as if nothing bothered her. She was resilient, independent, and didn't NEED anyone - right?"I'm trying," she told Skadi, "it may not look like it, but I am trying." She had a lot of hang-ups, especially in regards to family. 'Blood' family in particular. She sighed. "I'm here, aren't I? I know that doesn't seem like much but for me, it's a huge step." She was there, wearing her father's gifts, attending family dinners. Socializing, being pleasant (more or less), and learning about Alfheim."Is there something else I could be doing to make things go more smoothly?"
Poorly? "Yeah, he threatened to backhand me," Rhia said. She was trying not to hold a grudge, quite frankly; they'd never been her strong suit. Sure, she'd burn white hot for a while and then pft! Nothing. "It wasn't encouraging but I did tell him I'd like to start over and have a proper conversation with him. I'd like the next one to go better," she admitted, anxiety trickling back into her voice and posture. "He's actually the one person I wanted to get along with."
