Chaos in the Castle [OPEN to Deadpool, Wasp, Sentry and Iron Man]

[Routing power to shoulder servos. Joint motors suffering severe structural damage.]

Doom sneered to himself. He did not need the feedback to tell him that, he could feel it in his own flesh and bone limbs, bent backwards by Iron Man's armor. The sorcerous blow had hurt him, but it would take something severe to cause his grip to unlock.

Meanwhile Wasp blotted out the sun, and Sentry did his best to relight it. He had them in check, locking Iron Man within his force field, but that could only work so long. His aerial bots were keeping the other SHIELD forces at bay, but again for only so long. He had to keep them busy for long enough to activate secondary and tertiary defenses. He may have been caught by surprise, but Latveria was considered impervious to invasion for a reason. Decades of paranoiac planning, and otherworldly technology.

"Powers of Cytorrak, bind my enemy and make him mine," Doom muttered in his metallic voice, his human eyes glaring at Iron Man's helmet, flashing with dark power which swept from them into a cloud around Iron Man. The cloud coalesced into darkly glowing bands of mystical power, wrapping tighter around the hero until he could no longer move.

Doom's sorcery was almost disrupted by the crashing of the satellite, making the drawbridge lurch underneath them. Doom immediately checked the network to determine the extent of the damage even as he watched Iron Man bound before him.

[Structural damage to Castle Doom: High. Exterior wall compromised. Inner walls and floors compromised. Blast doors to sub-basements compromised. Central chamber exposed.]

Doom cursed loudly, glancing back at the smoking hole in the castle, turning back his eyes narrowing. "Detect intruder location," he muttered.

[Intruder last detected at entrance to sub-basement level, sector 1Q. Sensory net intermittent, current location unknown.]

"Check inner chamber status."

[Defense robot command: 18%. Timeslip Platform: deactivation 73%. Spacetime fluctuations: Moderate.]

"You are more underhanded than I imagined, Iron Man," Dr. Doom began angrily. "This strike, only a ruse to plunder from my secrets. Whoever he is, you can be assured he will never leave alive. You fools, you do not know the danger you put us all in." Doom stomped his metal boot upon the ground.

Sorcery. It was the one thing he had no real defense against, the one thing he could not program his armor to counter. Times such as these made him wish that Doctor Strange had chosen his side on the Superhuman Registration Act. Perhaps then, and working in close proximity with him, he could have devised some new defense or ward.. none of that mattered now, though. The die had long been cast, and now he was immobile while Doom continued to ra...

The explosion behind Doom as the satellite crashed gave him pause. He swore inside his helmet. Without looking, he knew where to cast the blame. What part of 'Leave Doom to me' did his compatriots not understand? He was not sure if he was more angry at Sentry for his fumbling, or Wasp for not keeping him on a shorter leash. It was no wonder he left Ms. Marvel in charge of the team most of the time, he simply could not put up with this kind of business, not with everything else on his mind... so many more important things..

Excess power re-routing to torso repulsor beam.

He may for the moment be immobile, that did not mean that he could not fire at Doom, which was precisely his intention. Face to face with Doom, he would have had a good poker face, even if not behind the helmet he wore. He could release the beam now, but he wanted to make it good..

Repulsor cannon at maximum charge.

He would have fired then, but the words of Doom caught him off guard. Treachery, man on the inside.. plundering secrets? What was this about?

"Surely you know me to be more than a common thief, Doom. We are here to take you into custody for the attack on New York, and nothing more. This man you speak of is not mine."

Considering how things were going, he felt like blasting Doom before he went off on another tirade, but refrained.. maybe, just maybe, there was some sense in him.

"Did you order the attack on New York, Doom?"

Jan was mad at him, and reasonably so. He could tell Tony was too, even if he was wrapped up in some magic spell, in his armor, hidden behind a force field. He had definitely messed up this time. Why had he thought using his powers was a good idea? It was never a good idea.

"I'm sorry Jan," he somberly called out to the angry giant, bowing his head in defeat. "Maybe I should just go wait over by the Hellicarrier." Sentry slowly began to walk off in the direction of the crashed ship, hoping that his comrades would see something noble in him trying to save the remaining crew. In truth though he was starting to strongly feel the need to isolate himself, but had no desire to fly all the way back to America, so he figured the ship would be a good refuge. He'd look for survivors, but he was about 98% sure there wasn't going to be any after the huge drop the carrier took. Even if there were, he'd probably just end up accidentally killing them when he tried to help anyway.

"It's really fine Bob, I mean, if you did hit me that would be a different story." She said with a soft giggle, trying to make the atmosphere a bit more positive. She was happy to have some resting time but at the same time she was a little aggravated that she wasn't contributing to what was happening in front of her. At least if anything bad happened, this time she couldn't be held accountable.

The remaining few bots that were moving seemed to be damaged and of no major threat to them. Janet flew down and landed softly on the grass. She lifted her arms high above her head, stretching them out, before moving her fingers through her hair softly. "Ew! What is in my hair?" She yelled out, her fingers caught in something. "I just got it cut!" she pouted, sitting down in the grass as she tired to get it out.

"There's nothing you and I won't do...!"

Deadpool, having just done a bunch of stuff that for budgetary and time compression purposes was not shown, skipped through the doors of Doom's castle with a song in his heart. Giving robots the slip was pretty easy when you were the best ninja in all the world. Except Elektra, but come on. Who could compete with a really hot female ninja in red tights who fought with sai?

"Uh..."

There they were. All in a row. Deadpool had just walked into something out of a Nicieza book, all right - S.H.I.E.L.D. cronies all around. Dr. Doom, in person. And what was worse... the Avengers. Man, nothing sucked more than having to deal with the freakin' Avengers. Ms. Marvel should have showed - thinking dirty thoughts about Wasp didn't really work on account of she was small and Sentry would probably pop his head like a blister if he realized 'Pool was thinking anything of the kind.

Well, crap.

"The Avengers and Dr. Doom! Sweet Christmas, I'm gonna get a whuppin'!"

Dr. Doom was torn, attempting to deal with Iron Man, locked there in close quarters with him, knowing the armored man was powering his repulsor rays. Yet at the same time Doom's castle sensor net was going crazy, damaged by the blast, unable to properly track and respond to the intruder.

Doom watched Iron Man's armor warily, ready to evade a blast, responding to his direct question. "Tell me, Stark, is New York destroyed, ravaged, its population on its knees declaring allegiance to Latveria? Then you know whether Doom has declared war on it. Send some of your suits power to your reasoning skills, fool. You are either a liar, or a dupe. Your attack is clearly meant as a ruse to distract me from safeguarding my castle's secrets."

Doom kept the bands around Iron Man, watching him warily, but making no attack. "We cannot stand here and hesitate. You know that I possess secrets that could be the death of us all in the wrong hands, things that none other than Doom should wield. Extend your senses, you can feel the space-time disturbance inside. This intruder threatens are very existence. So, drop this foolish attack. Or admit your complicity."

Were his hands not engaged in grappling Doom, he would have put his head in them. Put his head in them, and cursed aloud. What the HELL was wrong with his team mates? Sentry was moping like a child, and Wasp was.. was.. playing her hair? When this was over, he was going to have their hides for this. From Sentry, he almost expected this sort of behavior, but Wasp had been among his most loyal and faithful team mates for years.. it was inexcusable. She knew better.

The worst thing about it, was that of them all, he found himself in the most compliance with Doom himself. Doom was not known to be a liar. He did not need to hide behind falsehoods and petty trickery to achieve his ends. As hard as it was, especially after all that had happened so far, he believed him.

"If you did not order the attack, I need to know who did."

Since Sentry and Wasp could not look after themselves, he decided to put them to work. Instead of opening a private channel, as he would normally do, he spoke his command aloud so that Doom could hear it.

"Wasp, Sentry, forget Doom for now. There is an intruder in the castle. Find and capture him before he escapes."

Focusing his lot once more on Doom, he decided to throw in his lot with the devil.. for now, at least.

"Release me from your magic, and I will release you from my grasp. If you are innocent, then let us together find the culprit."

Just before Sentry got out of earshot, Tony's voice reached him, asking him to come back and search the castle. And to forget Doom for now. Now Sentry hadn't been around the block too many times, but it seemed suspect to him that Iron Man would just give up his fight with Doom, and decide to help him clean up the mess they made. Something was definitely up.

Sentry turned around though, cautiously making his way back to the group, skeptically eying Tony. He had to let Jan know that Doom had somehow taken control of the Iron Man armor, but he had to make sure that they didn't know he knew.

"Wasp, come on, Tony found something we can do," Sentry called out, walking up to the splintered draw bridge. That alone was proof that something was going on - so far their only point in being here was to stay away from the fighting. That must of been why Iron Man brought the guy afraid to use his powers and the centimeter tall girl. Sure, there were Doombots, but the Great Lakes Initiative could even beat up Doombots. Then again though, maybe this was just a new way to send them off and keep them occupied while the adults slugged it out.

As Sentry walked past Iron Man and Doom to get into the Castle he stared at them both with inquisitive eyes. Sentry knew he should probably attack now, when they didn't expect him to know anything, but if he were wrong then Tony would be REALLY pissed. Bob didn't want to come out of this wild goose chase they were being sent on though to find all the Shield units slaughtered. He would just have to talk to Jan once they were inside and see what she thought.

When the words that Iron Man spoke reached Jan's ears she stopped playing with her hair for a moment and began to stand up. "Ugh it's such a mess!" she said quietly under her breath as she slowly surveyed the area around them. She jumped up into the air and began to slowly make her way closer to where Bob was headed. Everything seemed a little bit odd but for the time being she decided she would go along with everything and hope for the best. Plus, the situation did seem strange so many this would help reveal why.

Once inside of the castle she landed next to Bob and began to speak, "So, do you think something weird is going on...or what?" They began to walk along the corridor for a bit and nothing really seemed to be out of the ordinary but if they were going to find someone or something in here they were going to have to move fast.

"Lets go this way," Wasp suggested as she shrunk down a bit and started to fly a bit faster, moving all over the halls, checking out the rooms and staircases that they began to pass. "If you were in here, where would you be hiding?" she said looking back at Sentry curiously.

Holy crap! Through the magic of his writing, Bryce somehow made me invisible?!

Deadpool stood where he was, staring at both Sentry and Wasp as they passed him. Hands clapped over his mouth, hard, to keep so much as a whimper from getting out. They passed through the wide double doors that led into the castle proper, leaving him alone right by the portcullis. One foot stretched out, very tenatively, and Deadpool plunked his toe down on the drawbridge.

Nothing.

No wonder the Avengers stink. They'll let a couple of alkies or whatever join, maybe I'd have a shot...

Deadpool's other foot lifted up, very slowly, and came to rest on the drawbridge.

Nothing.

...'course, if the club will have me as a member I don't want to join.

The wood squeaked beneath him, only a handful of feet away from Dr. Doom and Iron Man.

"Aww, crap! Bryce broke my invisibility!"

Doom waited silently, his eyes beneath the mask tracking Wasp and Sentry as they passed, keeping the sorcery and the force field intact. "I need to know who ordered it as well. It seems someone has taken advantage of my absence. We must assure they leave with nothing."

Once confident that the other two heroes were not playing tricks, Dr. Doom shut off the force field surrounding the two of them, quickly reinstating it around his own person. With a blink of his eyes the mystical bands surrounding Iron Man dissipated, leaving him free to move. Doom stood, watching Stark carefully. "There is no telling the damage this intruder could do," Doom stated, turning around to face the castle.

That is when he caught sight of the mercenary creeping out of the dark doorway. Raising his gauntlet at the man's head, he growled at Iron Man, "This is one of yours?"

Finally, he was beginning to make at least some shred of sense as to what was going on. Lowering his arms from Doom, he turned toward where there the monarch was pointing, to see the red and black costumed Deadpool staring back meekly at them. Of course. It had be him, didn't it? Just when things were beginning to make sense.. how the hell had Sentry and Wasp missed him?

"Deadpool is most certainly not one of mine, Doom. If anyone is here to steal your technology, it's him."

Raising his own gauntlet palm out toward the mercenary, he prepared for what would inevitably be more chaos. He was almost certain he had never met someone more out of his mind and unpredictable than Deadpool.

"Drop your weapons and put your hands in the air, Deadpool. If you resist, I assure you the beat down you received at the hands of Squirrel Girl will seem like nothing."

Sentry was so caught up in his conspiracy thinking that he didn't even seem to notice the red and black clad warrior standing against the entry way wall as him and Jan walked into the castle. Apparently Jan hadn't seen either. One thing was for sure though - If anyone else was lurking around inside the castle, they were surely going to locate them.

Sentry looked to Jan, who was only about a foot tall now, flying beside him. "Well, If I was going to steal something from Doom's castle, I'd probably go for the big stuff. I heard he keeps it down in the basement. Let's try to head that way."

The two continued to wander the halls, taking note of the destruction and dismantled robots, sometimes having to duck under doors that were jammed half open. "Well at least this proves that someone really was in here. I was sure Doom had taken control of Tony. I'm still not wholly convinced that he hasn't..." Sentry reveled to Wasp, scratching his head.

They had been walking for a while now and hadn't come into contact with anything that could be considered threatening at all. Maybe their target was able to turn invisible or camouflage their self. "So what do you think? Did Tony seem strange to you?" Bob asked, looking to his partner as they descended a stair case. Before Wasp could answer though Sentry came to an abrupt halt, as the hallway in front of them seemed to of been blown apart completely. Walking to the place where the floor dropped off Sentry peaked down the gaping, charred hole to find the satellite he had blown out of the sky resting a few floors below them. "Well...I think I found a quick way into the basement."

Wasp slowly flew forward over the deep hole that apparently had been created by the satellite. "See Bob, you did an excellent job!" she said happily. "Now we don't have to find staircases and wander around this dump any longer!" As she flew down a bit, it was very dark but there was a faint yellow glow coming from what appeared to be the basement, though she was not entirely sure.

"Bob, do you see that?" she questioned, pointing to the slight glow. Sentry began to fly over to her. They quietly and carefully began to make their way down. About half way down the glow started to become a bit stronger and Jan grew curious as to what it could possibly be. "What do you think it is?" she Asked quietly. The basement floor was almost in clear view so Jan decided to grow back into her normal size just before landing next to Sentry with a soft thud that still seemed to echo the room surrounding them.

The room was very cold and musky. It was very different than what Jan was use to. Though it appeared to be very old, from carvings in the stone walls, it still had a very clean aesthetic to it with the metal tile work that covered the floor. Surrounding them were a massive amount of machines and that glow that was almost blinding. "Wow." Wasp said under her breath as she continued to survey the room, before laying her eyes on the bright yellow, glowing platform. She moved closer to it, but the glow was almost to bright for her eyes so she took a few steps backward so that she was able to get a better view of it. "Wow, Sentry, check this out." she said, almost speechless.

"Dude, Squirrel Girl? Really? That's low, Mr. Holier-Than-Thou Iron Man. Even by your standards. No wonder Spider-Man hates your freakin' guts."

Tony Stark was a dick. And he figured it made sense that Robert Downey Jr. was playing him, since Robert Downey Jr. also looked like a dick. Throw down all his weapons? Surrender? To the freakin' Avengers? He might as well turn in his Hell Raising card and go hang out with Mxyktpik or whatever his name was and all the other loser super villains from the 60s that didn't get mentioned anymore. Not that he was a super villain. Deadpool saw himself as a heel, a truly independent fellow in a world of leagues and insanity and how the hell could they trust Hulk to run around free but not him?!

"I just changed some lightbulbs and whatnot... it's not like I took anything! OtherthanthecoolmicroCDfromthecoolundergroundlab. But who the hell wants that stuff, anyway? I mean, how could I have gotten in there if it was really so secret?"

Maybe they forgot about the FALLING SATELLITE.

Honestly, I kind of doubt it, Bryce, but well played anyway. Keep them talking until we can hammer out a military solution to this situation.

Deadpool now had Iron Man and Doctor Doom both facing him on the drawbridge, gauntlets raised at him.

[Force field level: 63%, Gauntlet blasts powering.]

Doom glanced sideways at Iron Man, assessing his armor levels. "This fool cannot be behind this," Doom added as an aside, looking back at the frozen mercenary. "Whatever you have taken will be pulled from your cold, dead hands, mercenary. So promises Dr. Doom."

[Castle network operational at 48%. Time-space fluctuations: high, rising exponentially.]

Doom's eyes slid from the mercenary to the darkness behind him. "What have you done down there? Call back your Avengers, Stark. No one must go down there, only Doom." Doom stepped forward, hesitating, glancing at Deadpool and at Iron Man, unsure of what to do.

He could easily count on one hand the times he had seen Doom shown any sign of hesitation whatsover. Moments ago, he would have seized such an opportunity to strike a blow against him, yet now he stood beside him on common ground, for the moment at least, partially united. It was times like these that he really missed the drink.

Half surprised that Doom did not immediately attack Deadpool or vice versa, he could only nod at the words of Doom. Considering how things had gone so far with the rest of his team, he could scarcely imagine how much further they could blunder things if left unattended in the depths of Castle Doom. There was no telling what they could get into, set off, or otherwise disturb, and he would take no chances.

Without taking his eyes off the mercenary, he opened a channel to Sentry and Wasp, or at least he tried to, the other end of the communication being plagued with static.

"Sentry, Wasp, report to the castle entrance at once."

There was no telling if the two actually got his message. Either way, it was hardly to the time to voice such concerns to Doom.

"Drop your weapons, Deadpool."

Deadpool.. ugh, Doom was right. Had to be. But if the mercenary was not behind all this, who was?

"Wow, yeah, I wonder what this is?" Sentry asked, walking over to the Platform and inspecting it with Jan. A part of him wanted to walk into the light and see what was beyond it, but they had a mission to do, and Bob wanted to prove to Iron Man that he was a good choice for the Mighty Avengers.

Looking away from the platform, Sentry scanned the room, trying to spot anyone lurking in the darkness that surrounded them. "Jan, I don't see anyone down here. Maybe we should get back to our search?"

Before Wasp could respond though their ear pieces transmitted a message from Tony. Unfortunately it was filled with static, and Sentry was having trouble making it out. "Could you understand th...." Sentry began to ask, turning around to look at Jan, but not realizing that she was standing as close to him as she was. As he spun his shoulder nudged her back, and her heel caught on the edge of the platform, sending her flailing backward into the glowing light. "Jan! JAN!" Sentry shouted, reaching out in a futile attempt to grab her hand. Before he could jump in after her, she was gone, as if she had never even been there.

Sentry's eyes grew huge, realizing that this was his fault, and Tony was going to have his head for it. Hell, he didn't even know what that machine had just done to Jan. He was going to have to step on it too and hope that it took him to her, but he also had to let Tony know what happened. Pressing on his ear piece he reluctantly stated, "Iron Man...We were searching the basement and Wasp fell onto a glowing golden platform and disappeared. I'm going in after her."

Hopefully that went through, and wasn't as static as Tony's message had been. Hopefully this platform wasn't going to just incinerate Sentry. If it did though, he deserved it for doing it to Wasp. Well...there was only one way to find out what this thing could do. Sentry took a deep breath, waited a moment, and then walked into the light.

Slowly, Jan began to fall toward the platform and now the farthest thing from her mind was trying to decipher what Tony had said. Instantly she hit the platform with a thud. "Owwwww!" she whined out, beginning to lift herself up. Instead of being in the basement of a Castle in Latveria, Janet was now resting atop a building in what appeared to be New York City. Something was wrong though; everything seemed to be...different. Where the Avengers Tower once stood was now an old drug store. Was this the future? The past? She was sure of one thing and that was this was not present day New York City.

For a few minutes Jan continued to survey the area around her and she was certain that it was the past. The buildings, cars and the people all seemed to be from the 1970's. "Oh wow, those clothes are horrendous!" she said under her breath as a few women walked down the street a few blocks away.

Wasp shrunk herself smaller and flew up higher above the buildings. Pressing her finger to her ear she tried to make contact to Tony but the ear piece was just flooded with static sound. Either it was damaged or it was impossible to talk to anyone in the future.

Maybe I should have, like, continued with my own thing. Pretty sure, Tony’s got things under control.
Then again, he is a… nah, not going there.

It seemed like she was wanted. Despite the fact that Tony was being a jerk by pointing fingers at her, Carol couldn’t just diss her teammates – this wasn’t middle school. She had a job to do with the whole protecting the innocents, saving the world, even though this was one of those days where she should have just stayed in bed or doing something simple like dealing with your everyday common thugs who thought they could get away robbing a bank even though the world was littered with spandex wearing heroes. Seriously, d’uh; an idiot was born every second, and it was something that Carol was starting to believe in more and more with each passing day.

Castle Doom just gave Carol the hibby-jibbies. It was up there on the gayest names ever, but guessed things had to be kept simple for the biggest baddies; super-powered villains were only human and needed the extra space in their minds to cook up some scheme to overpower the good guys, take over the world, the universe – the list was never-ending. Carol knew however that Doom wasn’t a guy that she be tangoed with unless a person knew what they were doing, much less getting themselves into.

Could always back track, nice hot shower…
Ooh, what’s that light?

She knew that a light behind doors in Castle Doom were a bad thing to investigate. Carol didn’t suffer from stupid blonde syndrome like chicks in a horror movie, she was an adventurer and damnit, knowing her teammates, and she needed to help keep them out of trouble. Hopefully it was nothing, and hopefully there were no teammates in that room. But as life would have it, Carol made it in time to witness the disappearing back of, “SENTRY!”

Shit.

Pressing on her ear piece, Carol hoped Tony was available on the other end. Static.

Like, fuck me.
What else could go wrong?

It was like he wasn't even talking. Man, this sucked. The last thing Deadpool wanted to do was get into a fight with Iron Boy and his sexy but scary alkie girlfriend. Ms. Marvel. Ha, what a joke - naming a superheroine after a brand like that. Instead of dropping his weapons, Deadpool backed up one step. Then two. Then three. And all the while he had to wonder if any of them were even paying attention to what was going on. Sometimes Deadpool thought he was the only one who noticed that things were in certain places. And things were certain ways.

Maybe that means I'm insane.

Deadpool lifted his mask above his mouth, stuck out his tongue, and then sprinted off at a dead run for the inner sections of the castle.

Nah. I feel pretty sane.

[Space time fluctuations extreme. Time platform activated and in use.]

Though distracted by reports from in the castle, Dr. Doom was not about to let this Deadpool flee with whatever he had stolen from him. He needed to know hwat the man had done, but luckily for him the spirits of the dead were within the grasp of his sorcery.

Pointing his hands towards the fleeing figure, Doom blasted at him repeatedly, stepping quickly after him into the castle. Doom never ran, but he laid down a barrage of force blasts to kill, cripple or slow the mercenary.

"This man's allies, or yours, are attempting to use my time platform, Stark. You must know the danger of that, but those fools will not. We must hurry." Doom activated his jets, rising in the air and flying down the hall towards the looming darkness of the subbasement hole.

"Activate Doombots Mark 17, Mark 19 and 20," Doom vocalized to his armor, sending power to the robots hidden within the basement, exact duplicates of himself. "Remain hidden and standby for orders."

"If your allies have touched the platform, Iron Man, you have spelled doom for yourself, if not all of our existence," Doom uttered through clenched teeth, unable to believe how quickly things were crumbling around him.

If he were not in his armor, his face would be in his hands. He would pass his hands through his hair and curse aloud, wondering how in the hell things had gotten to this point. It was impossible to predict every variable involved in launching an attack on Castle Doom, but this.. this was just fucking ridiculous.

If not for their resentment of him, he would have been better off to bring the Young Avengers with him. Sentry was a loose cannon, for certain, but had been a risk he had been willing to take on account of the tremendous power and potential of his team mate. Wasp.. Wasp. She had been an Avenger from the beginning, just as he had, and over the years become one of his closest friends, and.. one time lover.

What was wrong with her? Could she be a...?

No, no.. at least he hoped not. Trying to handle Ms. Marvel was enough for now.

In a twist of fate no amount of alcohol could have ever divined for him, Iron Man found himself flying parallel to Doom, firing his repulsor beams at the retreating mercenary, who for all his damnable antics was amazingingly agile as he dodged all the blasts directed his way.

At this point.. he was pretty certain Ms. Marvel would be running the Mighty Avengers on her own, as he had intended.

No matter who she was..

The moment Sentry touched the platform two things happened. The first was that he heard the voice of his team's leader, Ms. Marvel, shouting out his name, and the second was him being teleported to New York City! So that's what the platform was - a teleportation device. He'd head back through to see what it was that Ms. Marvel had wanted, but there didn't seem to be any return platform. In fact, he was literally dumped right in the middle of New York City, on the top of a building. Doom had to of had some kind of plan to transport troops or bombs or something with the platform, and without a return platform the Avengers would have no speedy way to get back to him. He truly was a genius.

Sentry's thoughts were quickly interrupted by himself flying by. His eyes followed the Golden glowing warrior soaring through the sky, not really realizing what he was seeing for a few moments, but then it sunk in and his mouth dropped open. What was he doing here? HOW was he here? Was someone impersonating him? Could he just be imagining it?

Sentry stood frozen in place, gawking as the man who looked just like him slowly flew out of site. "Oh no...I'm definitely hallucinating," he said out loud, beginning to panic a little. "But what if I'm not? And what if that impostor is headed toward Avengers Tower? I better go follow him and find out what is going on here." With that Sentry took off, a trail of golden light bursting from behind him. In all the commotion he didn't even notice the shrunken wasp who was flying a few meters above him.

Lost in her thoughts, Wasp just continued to flutter in time for awhile until she heard a thud below her. Instantly she looked down to see Sentry sprawled out in the same place she had been dumped on the roof. Jan could faintly hear him talking out loud but couldn't make it out so she decided to make her way down to him. While still scanning the city around her she began to fly down before being hurled backwards, spinning in the air. Something had seemed to have just flown past her, but she had no clue what it could have been.

Wasp began to regain her stance and looked in the direction that the object had been going. She made a weird face to herself and looked down at Sentry below her, who was still talking aloud. "Two Sentry's?" she said under her breath, "Oh my!" she shouted as she saw the real Sentry take off after what appeared to be the Sentry of the past. Had Sentry known what was going on? If anything were to happen it could alter time and Jan couldn't let that happen.

"Sentry! Come back!" she shouted as she began to fly at full speed toward him, continuing to shout along the way. Slowly, the gap between Wasp and Sentry seemed to be getting smaller. Jan began to grow in size hoping that maybe this way if he were to look back he would see her. "Sentry! Stop!" she screamed, but still nothing. It wasn't like Jan to give up easily but she couldn't have anything happen that would change time. With even the smallest mistake Sentry could erase their future entirely. Gathering up all the energy she had left in her she shot a "sting" at Sentry. Knowing it wouldn't badly injure him, and having no luck shouting at him, she hoped this would finally make him stop.

Like mostly everything that seemed to vanish, Ms. Marvel didn’t really get to see Sentry’s body disappear due to the blinding light. At this point, she was opting on going with dark shades rather than a mask, but that was something she was just going to have to think about later. Since the team was her responsibility, couldn’t get through to Tony on the comm-link in her ear, Carol did about the only thing she could think of – exhaling, she jumped onto the platform and went after them. Worse comes to worse, she could either end up dead or have her molecules merge with the other two forming some weird chimera-like being. She hoped for neither, of course.

New York City.

Huh. Teleportation; why am I not surprised?

As she contemplated on what to do next, Carol saw something; no, correction, someones. Sentry… Sentry… a tiny little thing, she could assume was Wasp. Wait, two Sentry’s?

Don’t tell me I need glasses.

Pushing off her feet, Carol took flight and heading toward their departing forms hoping to catch up with them - which was, well, easy – while she called out their names, hoping she didn’t have to blast them for attention. They way she saw it, they were in a place that seemed like the era she was born in, had duplicates – they needed to be together. Strength in numbers.

Nothing in these past two missions was pleasing to his senses. A failed attempt to capture two renegades; he had become too sentimental and Hercules had gotten the upper hand with that Fate be damned missile. Williams was simply too soft on the fugitive and Romanov had been knocked out by the suspect. Ares was half suspicious of her claim, though not enough to give it thought. He had been damaged in the missile fight though he healed quickly enough. And it did not matter when the woman from SHIELD felt the need to express her disappointment in all three of them. Most of it went through one ear and out the other with Ares.

Yet another wench in love with her voice. A bitch in heat or an ice queen; a woman is always inappropriate for the job.

Still, his 'attack' on Williams was only enough to warrant a slap on the wrist before all three were sent to provide support with the rest of their teammates. He was allowed only a brief call to Alex and a broken apology. Then he was sent on tense flight before landing not fair from the down Hellicarrier. He hadn't bothered to see if he was in need. He was not a nurse nor he was sought because of his. Really, they should knew better.

And it was easy enough to track them down into Doom's Castle. Follow the path of violence that he gladly contributed if needed. Though once that path snuffed out, Alex swore, not certain to where the others were. He looked ruefully at the commlink. "Ares. I have checked in." Slight pause then with a snarl. "Where are you?"

Another Avenger? Shit. Here I thought Bill temporarily taking over the writing for me was bad. Seriously, what the fuck Bryce? Man oh man.

Deadpool kicked off one wall, and another, laughing maniacally as debris flew in all directions. Doom sure was fucking up his castle. Or was that Iron Man? Eh, they were both dicks. Instead of continuing toward the innards of the castle, he takes a quick turn, and somersaults in a completely different direction as energy blasts fly past him.

Hm, I wonder if these guys have as much trouble hitting the mark in the sack...

Sliding to a stop infront of a wall, where a door should have been, he turns and holds his hands up as the tin men barrel down on him. A stray beam singed his shoulder before they realized he was giving up, the bastards.

Don't they have more important things to be concerned about? Like the two bumbling Avengers below?

"I give up! Really!"

Even as he said the words, he kept one hand behind his back. His fingers were crossed. Ha! Doom looked pretty pissed, anyhow. At least, he seemed to be pissed behind that dorky mask.

He flipped a switch in his glove.

"See ya, suckerz!"

With a flash of light, Deadpool disappears, teleporting to safety. Safety, and a date with his.. good hand.

Deadpool has left the building!

Dr. Doom landed loudly in his armored boots, his jets quietly cycled off as they cornered Deadpool. Caught between irritation at what Deadpool might have been up to in his castle, and anxiety over what the Avengers were doing down below, he pointed an outstretched hand at Deadpool's head. The Doombots he had activated below could handle things for now, he wanted to find out what the mercenary was attempting to steal. "Tell me why you're here and perhaps ..." Doom got out in his grating metallic voice before the hall filled with light.

[Visual sensors compensating, detecting heat and magnetic patterns. Target is lost, extended search finding no signature match in 50 yards. 100 yards ... ]

"Gods be damned," Doom cursed, swinging his fist and smashing the stone wall next to him. Turning on Iron Man, his eyes on fire, he snarled, "Find that intruder you allowed into my castle, Stark. Your invasion has left my castle in a shambles, my forces pinned down under attack. There is no telling what technology he is stealing to give to what madman or government." Doom turned on his heel and left, seemingly expecting Iron Man to take care of this problem as he headed for the sub-basement.

************************

Below, in the sub-basement's central chamber itself, the massive shield doors teetering to one side or the other, the passageway itself breached by a massive blast, the time platform's glow began to subside. Out of the darkness from several directions emerged Dr. Doom. Several Dr. Dooms. The Doombots, perfect replicas of the dictator himself, circled the room, their sensors scanning. Once it was confirmed the Avengers had left through the platform, they relayed back to the true Dr. Doom, and stepped back into their shadowy alcoves.

[Sentry, Wasp and Ms. Marvel all have exited through the time platform. Platform deactivation now at 81%. Chances of extreme time disturbance: 79%]

***********************************

Outside, the battle between SHIELD forces and Guardianbots raged, but remained static, each keeping to their positions, and simply pinning the others down. Through the lines, through the perimeter defenses strode Ares, finding the castle doors blasted open, and a trail of firefight leading straight into the castle where Iron Man and Doom stood. A hole led straight through the ceilings of the highest towers, down through the floor of the castle into the basements. At the sign of another intruder, Guardianbots automatically moved to contain and flank the god of war.

(Well Bill's wife went into labor today, so needless to say he'll probably not be on for a day or two. He asked me to skip him and just let you know that Iron Man is taking off to search for Deadpool.)

Sentry flew as quickly as he could, determined to catch up with himself, but then he felt a sting in his back. Turning to look behind him, he found Jan soaring toward him and Ms. Marvel not far behind. But was this really his teammates, or was this more duplicates. Why would Jan fire at him? They had to be impostors. And now he was flanked. He had to act fast, but at the same time he couldn't take the chance that maybe that was the real Jan and Carol.

Sentry suddenly came to a dead stop in mid air, and as Wasp and Ms. Marvel approached his hands began to glow with a golden light. He'd give them a chance to explain themselves, but if this fake Wasp shot at him again, he would be forced to deal with them.

"Who are you, where am I, and what have you done with my real teammates?" Bob demanded, frustration painted all over his face. He was really starting to think that maybe stepping on that platform wasn't such a good idea after all.

With the space between Wasp and Sentry decreasing Wasp could see the confusion on his face. "Sentry, it's really me. We're in the past! We can't do anything that would alter the present!" she yelled from a short distance before landing next to Sentry. Jan bent over, placing her hands on her knees and she tried to catch her breath. Though exhausted, she was relieved that Bob was listening to her.

"The platform sent me, us, back in time. That Sentry is in the past, we need to leave him alone so nothing happens to us in the future, or we may never even exist now." she panted out through shallow breaths. After a few moments Jan stood back up and saw Ms. Marvel only a few yards away from where they stood. "Man, how many of us came through the portal? This is all my fault." Jan questioned as she continued to survey the world around her. "How do you think we are going to get back? or better yet, is there a way to get back?"

All this time Bob had been almost silent and it started to bother Wasp. Did he believe her? I mean he had to, right? If he didn't the future could be in jeopardy.
