Log: Lorna and Jean
WHO: Lorna and Jean
WHEN: February 18
WHERE: California and New York
WHAT: Phone call.

Alex had gone off on some "bonding" trip with his brother so Lorna had woke up this morning by herself (and with all of the blankets!). So she'd taken a shower and gotten ready for her day before checking out the news and doing other official X-factor business.

Finally at lunch time she relented and grabbed her phone. She didn't call Alex or even think about it. Instead she flipped to Jean on her contact list and called her up. Once Jean answered, Lorna smirked to herself. "So the boys have been trapped in a car together for a quite a few hours now. So do you think they're awkwardly attempting to small talk, or are they awkwardly sitting in silence?" Either way there was an epic amount of awkward involved Lorna was sure.

"I think they're exploring their love of local radio stations and commenting on road signs occasionally," Jean replied with a laugh, cradling her phone to her shoulder as she sorted through some laundry up in her room. "Honestly, I think the driving will be the easy part. I'm worried about any restaurants they may stop in."

Could any Waffle House survive the potential destructive force of those brothers?

"How is the team doing without Alex around?"

Lorna couldn't help but laugh as she tucked her feet underneath herself. "Oh, they're at least somewhat smart. They'd make it out to the parking lot before any serious noogies took place."

Alright it was more than just noogies, but at least their powers didn't work on each other.

"We're all fine. It's been quiet for a while out here."

Jean perched herself on the edge of the bed. "Well hopefully it stays that way. I always feel like when Scott and I leave that something will explode without us there, but I think that's just his nervousness rubbing off on me."

She scooted back to the bed rest, letting her telepathy handle the work for awhile. "At least I put Scott in a good mood before the long trip..." There was a hint of amusement in her voice as she thought fondly to their date. "That should keep him off Alex's back for at least the first three states."

If something happened here and Alex wasn't there... Well, Lorna was almost positive he'd spend the next month apologizing profusely for daring to have a private life.

Lorna couldn't help but snicker. "Two states. Alex is a horrible, horrible backseat driver, and out of sheer stubbornness Scott won't give him the keys as a result."

Then again Alex claimed it was her crazy driving that made him a backseat driver.

"Okay, two states," Jean replied with a laugh. "I just hope they don't give each other too hard of a time...hopefully everything goes smoothly, and they get back soon." Because, sad as it was, she already missed her husband. It was probably the fact that she wasn't sure just how long he would be gone that had her on edge.

"Hopefully they can both remember they are full fledged adults in their 30s." Lorna said, sounding a tad bit like she wasn't sure it was possible. "But enough about them. We're interesting on our own. Anything new?"

"Not much...I've been feeling a bit off this week, but that might just be all the additional questions I get when Scott isn't around," Jean shrugged, even though Lorna couldn't see it. "We have that new girl, Laura. She's a little strange, but she's a sweetheart. I was thinking of figuring out some kind of gift or surprise for her since we've put her through so much random medical and psychological testing."

She was a mother to a fault, even though she didn't have any children of her own.
