Characters: Various mentions, including Pepper's accident (Open to Reactions)
NPCs: Trish Tilby
Location: News on TV
Timeline: June 18, 2014
Description: New drug causes crime wave and injuries in the streets of New York.
Rating: R, for mentions of violence~
"This is Trish Tilby with a special report. "Crime over the past few days has skyrocketed in the city of New York over all boroughs over the past five days, startling law enforcement and the public. The root of this has been identified a new illegal substance causing users of the drug to achieve nearly inhuman strength and speed, however, side effects of the drug include manic behavior causing them to be prone to violence. It was believed to be the worst of the side effects but if taken in large quantities, leads to what appears to be spontaneous combustion. "The following is a clip found uploaded onto the internet taken through a camera phone. We want to caution viewers tat the images may be considered disturbing." The image on the screen flickered to a shaky hold of camera phone footage where a man, obviously drugged, and people keeping their distance. The explosion flash blinding the camera the video feed went back to Trish. "This explosion caused a large amount of damage and caused injuries, putting several into critical condition, including Howard Stark of the School of Tomorrow Valedictorian, Virginia Potts. Ms. Potts and the other victims of that scene were transported by EMTs who acted quickly and they were sent to Forest Hills Hospital. "Police continue to investigate the origin of this unnamed drug, and find themselves stretched thin. However, mutants and masked vigilantes, including Spider-Man, along with some other new faces never seen before, are stepping up to assist. They've been able to successfully subdue violent individuals and also to minimize damage to public property and also protect civilians caught in the fray." Footage began playing as Trish continued with her report, showing various instances of people with extraordinary powers or stepping up to the plate to help get people to safety in bad situations. People like Spider-Man, as well as a number of Xavier students and former students, and others wearing masks, like a blond girl with a Union Jack over her face. Captain America and some SHIELD agents were seen in action as well. "Warnings regarding this drug and it's dangerous side effects have been issued by the FDA and the DEA, with hospitals and EMTs prepared with sedatives as a temporary treatment until a way to get the drug out of their system is found. "This is Trish Tilby, CBNC News." |
