Baldr had responded as kindly as possible to Loki, and that had been enough to sooth Eva's concerns about escalation. It was her joy to the focus on what Nate was saying to Brayden, which was interrupted by his magical warfare in a seductive attack on her ear. It felt like his tongue... She shuddered, then Thor called him boring and her smile returned in full at the jest. However... when Warren chimed in: "Un sueño no se hace realidad a través de la magia; se necesita sudor, determinación, y trabajo duro," she reminded the blond, who was far better at honing an effortless aura of success than his darker cousin. However, their actual, physical appearances were more telling, but that wasn't something Eva felt was necessary to share. "A dream is not realized through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work." Hopefully that would shut their bickering down to simmer. But then there was the other matter...
Her eyes shifted to Thor, who looked thoroughly amused at his brother's words; as did her father and Nate. "Yes, I have been," distracted. Luckily for Loki, his assinine toast and her father's assistance had smoothed things over, outwardly. Inwardly, she was stirred with annoyance and frustration. She'd missed the signs... if there'd been any. She'd never raised an infant god... did he get cranky while teething? She hadn't noticed. Zap's face remained bright as her father examined Torben, then she grinned when he was passed off to Baldr. "The family resemblance... the curls, the big, kind eyes..." she swooned, unintentionally, then looked happily at Thor. She felt pride and acceptance for both her brother-in-law and her baby son within their family. And then Torben stole a bite off Baldr's plate and she closed her eyes with a sensory overload of cute.
She cleared her throat, completely ready for a subject change: "I would like to make an announcement." Eva stood, and motioned for everyone but Thor to remain seated. "We will have a ceremony tomorrow morning to honor two men who dine with us this evening..." When she glanced at her husband, he nodded for her to continue. "Nate," Zap's focused shifted with purpose, "if you will accept, we would like you to become Nathaniel, Ridder of Asgard, Hand of the Queen," officially. It was a knighthood, which Nate would know well. And then, her eyes fell on Brayden and she gave the boy a crinkle-eyed smile of favor. "Brayden Zale, you will be given the title of Brayden, Nathanielson, Vaepner of Asgard," the equivalent of squire, or 'weaponer'. He was going to begin studying under Nate and learning about his abilities and his father's work and expertise now that his mutation had literally reared its head.
