The scars on Eva's hands had been reopened but had been mostly healed over again by the time everyone arrived upon the scene. She was standing on the right-hand side of the narrow bed within the star and watched the faces of her companions as they prepared, mentally. "I feel our success," Zap shared, encouragingly. But really, none of them had as much invested in what was about to happen than Ronan and herself. So when the Irishman entered and swore (not uncommon), she turned her head to give him a positive look. When Mars came closer, she smiled at him and gave his hand a squeeze before he was told to sit, then lie back. "You won't think I'm so nice after this," she teased, but quickly realized he didn't need joking to scale this hill.
"I won't let anything bad happen. We're going to keep your body here. Your astral form is going to do a bit of espionage for me." She deliberately didn't say 'for us'. Us was too vague. "A brother of Thor has claimed he escaped from Hel, Hela's domain. We'd like to confirm his story and to check on the state of the place without waving any red flags. I'm going to stay with you, through Minor, so if something goes wrong, call on him and I can help you." The bear would remain unseen until necessary, though. "His name is Baldr, and Hela paid special attention to him," in the most heinous ways possible. "Nate chose well..." she offered Mars a semi-smile to let him know she had faith in his spy skills. "Oh, remember, you're dead."
That's when Brian began to hook up the IV and the other equipment.
