[Luke already privately had his freak out, and had a frantic read through of the brochure. He's all caught up, and once he's figured out the communicator (THREE BUTTONS ARE KINDA HARD OK) he's right up on the network]
This is the worst. I'm not even really sure where I am! I mean, one second I'm walking up some stairs to go do something really, really important, and then I'm here. I'm really worried about everyone. I'm pretty worried about myself, too. I don't even have my sword.
[he looks through the welcoming basket, and idly snacks on something]
I'm going to go talk to that robot in charge. I don't know if it'll do anything, but it must be worth something.
[It's entirely possible to run into him, too. He's just on a street corner, sitting on a window sill for a shop in sector 5]

[ a small bit of static, but it isn't too long before a man's face slides into view-- perplexed, and somewhat amused. the feed turns sideways, upways, upside down; all before the man grins and gives a low, appreciative whistle before he mutters in a quiet voice. ]
Niiice comlink tech we have here. New Republic model?
[ a beat of contemplation, looking at the welcome message before sighing. slight frown as he shrugs, taking another survey of the area before turning back to the feed. ]
Well, another prison. Why is it that everywhere I end up, I get thrown into one cell or another? I guess I should be happy that this is a step up from a force cage, but for some reason I'm not. Basket's a nice touch, though. Quaint.
Uh. Am I supposed to introduce myself? S'Atton, if anyone out there actually, y'know, cares. If this comlink actually works and if anyone can see this.
[ another.... thoughtful pause. he bites his lower lip for a moment, spacing out for another before stretching and cracking his neck. ]
Guess I should look for Surik. Or anyone, really.
[ he fiddles around with the communicator a little longer, murmuring a final "or maybe a deck of cards" before the feed shuts off with a click. ]

Hello – is there someone who can hear me? Is what the brochure in the basket said – is it true? We're considered criminals here?
[ She makes a quiet 'mm,' sound, acknowledging and pondering the situation all at once. ]
If that's the case… Is there anyone here who can tell me, have you seen a young girl with a pink ribbon in her hair, named Marlene? She might have had a boy with – [ You can almost hear the slight smile in her voice when she speaks. ] – light brown hair, a bit long, with her. They were with me, not too long ago... Surely, they could have been brought here, too... [ She's concerned, but also very hopeful. It's possible, right? Completely possible.]
I would be grateful for any information you could offer me! I need to find them as soon as I can. [ And then another thought occurs to her. Marlene and Denzel weren't the only members of her family there in the church with them. What if some of the people she knows are already here, and can hear her? ]
Barret? Are you here? [ And, of course... Though he's doing so much better than he was before, she is always concerned for his well being...]

[Flynn is in an even better mood than usual today. he was a little alarmed at first by Sentience's announcement, but as he wandered around the house and thought about Yuri and Judith and what they would be thinking about it, his mind drifted to the less troubled, more insightful, I bet it would be great to brush their hair.]
[which is the story of how Flynn is in a really good mood today]
[maybe he'll do some cooking. yes... so to the grocery store to pick up ingredients, and then home~~! to utterly ruin food whimsically]
24 May 2012 at 12:20 pm
[ Hawke's in her leather armor today, and looking very comfortable. she gives the camera a big grin. ]
Who'd be willing to loan me a blade? [ cheerful, guileless ] I'll give it back, I promise. In Andraste's name, and all that.
I just want to hit something. Or someone. In a sparring match, of course. [ she's hanging around the park, stretching, and just strolling aimlessly. ]
Rebecca, are you still interested in finding out what despair tastes like? [ the grin is more of a smirk now. ]

[There's a low moan as the video snaps on, a sound of pain, somewhere between human and animal. The image lurches to one side, then the other, finally crashing to the sidewalk. The hospital is in view some distance away, behind her so it's clear she was walking away from it rather than toward.]
[Saya curls up with her back to the wall, knees pulled to her chest, fingers clutching at her head.] ...Please, no. Not again, I don't want to --
[Whatever she's saying is cut off by a growl, her lips parting around extended fangs, eyes glowing an intense red. A slam of her head against the concrete and then her eyes are back to their normal auburn, snarl replaced by panicked fear.]
Zero? ...A-Anri? Someone, please... [her words are cut short again, this time by an abbreviated cry as Saya struggles for control over herself. Just like Vietnam, only this time she's painfully and cruelly aware of the Chiropteran part of her mind that's threatening to take over.]
((OOC: She probably won't attack people unless they attack her first, and certainly no attacks without OOC permission!))

[As usual, Judith is somewhere high up, but good luck figuring out where from the endless field of blue behind her head. The communicator dangles for a moment before snapping into place and she’s smiling in a way that doesn’t quite reach her eyes.
I suppose I should be grateful. Every need is taken care of and our new old warden seems a lot kinder than our old new one. [Judith doesn’t give that sentence any time to be unraveled before moving on, tilting her face toward the sky.
] Still, it’s hard not to miss certain things from home, or certain people.
[Talking about Ba’ul? Now why would she do that! What Judith really (probably) means is…
It’s good I was able to get this. [She holds up a certain wanted poster. It’s greyed a little from age and has been folded a few evident times but the artistic rendition is still clear.
] I never learned to draw, so I can’t possibly recreate something so masterful. ( video; private to Anew )

[As soon as Tim had contacted her, Steph pretty much ran her butt out to meet him, her attention focused entirely to finding him, or making herself as available as possible to be found by him--whatever kind of damage control would be necessary was making her stomach churn more than she would ever want to admit. There was dread there, but she didn't think that could be helped at this point.
This one went on the fuck up wall of shame as far as she was concerned, and even if she wasn't at fault, there was still a sense of guilt there.]
[With at most a general idea of his lurking spots in the dome, it would only take a moment before they would see each other, hopefully to work out this mess. Anyone with a sharp eye or a lucky glance or a good nose (?) is free to catch the girl before or after she manages to find the Boy Wonder, whether you happened to see the particular revelation about her or not. She's certainly in a noticeable state of increasing panic over it, which alone would likely raise some concern.]
[[ooc | first thread with Tim is closed
but other action!pokes here are very welcome. With this secret identity compromised
, pretty much no one who met Stephanie in and out of costume will be surprised -- but still. Life is hard!]]

[Sector 4 is a beautiful, landscaped residential area of the dome, where you'll find many homes, as well as parks, a butterfly pavilion, and a beach with an observation deck for the dolphins! It might be a little chilly for a swim, since it's still winter, but there's plenty of things to do.]
[Maybe you're visiting a friend here, or want to get zen by the meditation waterfall, or sit by the koi pond, or admire the massive cherry blossom tree still in full bloom. Or maybe you're just passing through on your way to the coffee shop in Sector 5 or the arcade in Sector 3, and waiting for people to ambush you!]
[So what are you doing? Anytime of day, with anyone! Just put down your characters and tag around!]

Um... good morning! [She looks nervous, but smiles and continues on.] My name is Anew, and I'm one of the people who had volunteered to take over Miss Jennifer's cooking class at the school. But it seems like my partner isn't here right now, so I thought I'd ask if anyone else was interested.
Let's see... there's really not much in the way of requirements, just someone who has experience cooking and enjoys it and wants to teach others simple recipes.
And -- if anyone is waiting for the class, I promise it will get going soon! I'd really like to hear any ideas for what to start with, if you have any. I hope it will be a useful class for people.
((OOC: the position is not first-come first-served, so no worries about tagging in late! Anew will consider all people who are interested and I'll poke the person or people she chooses after everyone has had a chance to tag in. o/ ))
[ The 165th Day ]
30 April 2012 at 06:22 pm
Good morning, everyone. Today is the 165th day of the third generation, and today will be clear and crisp. I have a lot of information to keep in mind after the last few weeks of asking questions, so I will keep today's announcement simple and leave it at that.
Judith, you can pick up your request from any robot in Sector Zero. As for everyone else... Please enjoy yourselves, and let me know if there's anything I can do to facilitate that!
[video/action] I Never Game!
26 April 2012 at 03:09 pm
[ greetings, Marina. Hawke again. today she just tosses a wave at the camera. ]
Let it never be said I was good at planning... well, anything... but I came across something that sounded like a bit of harmless fun. Not that it has to stay that way. [ winks ]
It's a charming little drinking game called "I Never". And if at least half of us are passed out on the floor by the time the evening's over, I'll consider it a success. The tavern would have been my first choice, but as it met a rather sad end... shall we say around eight o'clock? In the club? ((OOC: Forward-dated action in the comments! Enjoy!))( Index )

[After the excitement of the last little while, Anri is grateful for any quiet day granted to them. Her talk with Sasha still weighing on her mind, she takes the time to go to the library, sequestering herself away toward the back where all the law books are – laws, jurisdictions, technicalities, this world or that one. She’s expecting small print and words she’s unfamiliar with and wading through pages upon pages of unhelpful information.
She’s not expecting the way the floor seems to roil underneath her, causing her footing to slip off the lower shelf’s edge – one of the many hazards of being too short to reach anything – and the few books she was holding to come down with her. It’s loud enough to disturb anyone nearby, her hip colliding against the shelving and her unceremonious drop to the floor.
She’s left in an upright heap, hand pressed over her mouth as the memories flood in; several months’ worth.
It’s too hard to make out what’s important what isn’t – the blonde woman coming to her house, or Akabayashi-san and the Awakusa-kai, or – or Ryuugamine-kun and that boy, and the way she can’t stop thinking she smells smoke.
She doesn’t get up right away, unmoving and eyes dull as she thinks – something made so much more difficult by Saika’s renewed demands.
Eventually she stands. Her head is throbbing and her mouth is incredibly dry, each step protested by pins and needles. Anri ignores it, taking one book from the library before she leaves.
She’s in the shelter’s kitchen when she turns the communicator on, a few hours later. Her hair is tucked out of her face and behind her ears for once.]
Would anyone mind tasting some food? I’m not sure if it’s good enough to serve to people.
But her voice bells clear, less uncertainty and tentativeness rather than more.]
((OOC: Anri has been canon updated! From post-anime/volume three to post volume nine. Find her in the library or answer her request for unfortunate test subjects! She wants to feed you, to your incredible misfortune!))

[ the feed clicks on to catch Hei quickly smoothing his hair flat. He's look a touch different then usual today with his green parka mislaid and walking briskly through the streets with naught but jeans and a button down white shirt on. It's definitely colder then he would like for this kind of attire but that doesn't stop him from speaking as he navigates the sidewalk. ]
Roommates. How do you handle them without... getting in each others way constantly?
[ Yes, folks. He doesn't know how to handle living with someone when he's used to one room apartments and changing cities every few months. And having a mark stay with him a night or two is a completely different agenda then, well... cohabiting. Waylay him on the way from Sector 3 to the shelter if one must. Assuming, that is, you can catch him. ]
[Gamewide Mingle: Thanksgiving]
07 April 2012 at 08:25 pm
[At the entrance to Sector 5, several very long tables have been set up outside. Low light is provided by street lamps hung up just for the occasion, a cozy dining room in the middle of the street. There's turkey, mashed potatoes, candied yams, cranberry sauce, and many, many other Thanksgiving favorites
. A warm, printed message at the center of the table asks:In the tradition of the holiday known as Thanksgiving, please feel free to enjoy this meal and think about all the things over the last year for which you are most grateful.
Come one, come all! Food covers the tables, enough for the prison's entire population, courtesy of the bots. Have a nice big dinner with your fellow inmates, and get your CR on!]

[hey, it's Flynn! and it's time for Flynn's I miss my dog hour]
[he's already had breakfast, done his jogging, gone through his practice forms, and now he's ended up in the pet cafe, again, playing with one of the puppies. it has been kind of a depressing day so far, so he came here to cheer himself up, but wouldn't you know it? it's just got him thinking about different melancholy things]
[and he just can't help himself but turn on the communicator]
It feels like a lot of people here have adopted animals. I see them out and about all the time. ...How many of you have pets back home?((ooc: If you want to have caught him earlier in his routine, that's fine too!))

[The shelter is clearly equipped for a celebration to mark the changing of wardens. Everything is neat and tidy, with decorations and a generous food spread laid over the tables for the taking. There’s also the usual entertainment in the common areas – TVs, video games, movies. Maybe you can talk someone into an impromptu karaoke party. Why not? Sentience doesn’t mind.
There’s a party to be had, so get down with your bad self.
Need an invite? Aren’t quite sure what’s going on? Well, here’s a friendly neighbourhood Judith to explain it to you. The camera feed pans over a glammed up corner of the shelter’s common area before going back to her face. It’s clear she’s pleased by the set-up.
If I had known this was planned, I would have made some special cupcakes.
[Are you wondering what goes into Judith’s special cupcakes? Keep wondering.
I suppose after all the excitement from last night, it’s nice to have some fun and relax. I’m not sure it’s fair to have one party directly following another – but maybe I’ll get to make up for missed opportunities. [She wanted to kick a robot’s face in, okay.
] ((OOC: Mingle post for Sentience’s party in the shelter! The shelter is decorated with streamers and there’s a feast spread! But only three types of ice cream, though. Create threads and tag amongst yourselves! It’s a celebration, anything goes. Backdated slightly to the early evening.
If you want to respond to Judith via video, feel free! There will be a thread for that right here! Notifs are turned off otherwise.))

[Nia is standing in view of the feed very purposefully. She is on a mission!]
Pardon me, everyone!
My name is Nia. If you are new here or we have not spoken before, it is very nice to meet you. [She beams, genuine.] I have been here for a little while now and can help answer questions. For example, the pet café has lots of animals you can take home! Oh, but only if you are nice to them. And in the shelter kitchen, the robots will make you all sorts of food! Anything you would like.
[She’s getting sidetracked from her mission!, though, and shakes her head.]
I’m sorry but a friend of mine is missing – or I suppose he could just be wandering, or perhaps he has become lost. He is very tall – [compared to when he used to be shorter than her, anyway] – with dark hair and he wears a miniature drill key on a chain around his neck. [Manly mecha anime needs phallic imagery. I mean—what?] If you have seen him in the last couple of days, please let me know!
Thank you for the time. And – enjoy tonight’s festivities!
[With that, she clicks off.]

[Fenris is still a bit confounded by the communicator and often presses buttons without meaning to. He thinks it's part of the design the way they depress and beep and blink red.
And so the device shows him at the dojo. He's yet to find a way out (or even find this... kiosk- advanced technology is truly baffling), but his restlessness is kicking in and without vast adventures for Hawke to take him on, he has no other outlet for all that pent-up energy.
He tests one of the bamboo swords, swinging it as he would one of his normal gigantic broadswords. The weight and movement is clearly different, but experience has taught him to adjust accordingly. He has nowhere near the power and reach as his preferred weapons of choice, but it would have to make do.
And after a particularly hard swing (Mighty Blow!) against a practice dummy, the bamboo sword breaks. Oops.]
