[ quinn stares at the pamphlet for a moment, skimming the pages, then tosses it aside like it was a piece of trash she'd picked up by mistake. ]

If this is some sort of freshman hazing, I've seen better. [ like how the football team used to trap artie in the porta-potties. ] I've done better. [ things she'd rather not think about; that's not her anymore. ] I'm not impressed, and I'm not joining whatever sorority you're trying to recruit for. My answer's no, so you can let me out now.

I've got orientation in an hour and if I miss, I won't hesitate to turn you and everyone else involved in this to campus police.

[ His head hurt, he couldn't get up. Well actually, that was lie - he could, he just didn't want to. The device was propped up on what looked to be a bed and behind the messy head of red hair, there was the view of a blanket pulled up, blocking off the rest of the room.

Using the weight of his arms to sit up, he addresses the feed with a face full of guilt and it almost appeared as if he were on the verge of tears, but he wasn't crying. He didn't really feel in the mood to do something like this, but the fact that he'd awoken only to be reminded of what transpired the other day, this wasn't something he could just easily toss aside.
]

…Everyone that I… [ pauses and looks away a moment before forcing himself to finish] …that I worried…I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause trouble like that. I never meant to say those things and act like that… [ he couldn't bring himself to say anymore so instead pulls the blankets over his head and he reaches out a hand from the blanket, shutting off the feed abruptly.]

[Hiling is resting up at the hospital today. Her surgery went well and she's already anxious to leave, but she'll be good and stay a while. She loves visitors.

The screen shows Hiling in her bed with bandages wrapped around her chest. She's looking a little less... flat today, and she's just so happy about it, she has to tell everyone.]

Sentience is the best! Guess what? I just got a boob job! See how nice? They're perfect. I can't wait to get these bandages off.

[ click! a young woman, seventeen or eighteen at the oldest, is peering expectantly into the video feed. after a moment or two of fiddling with the communicator, she starts talking - to herself. ]

A network-interface device of some sort, huh...? Might be worth looking into, assuming I can put it back together.

[ she grins at that, cracking her knuckles like she's accepting some sort of challenge in the process. ]

Anyway, looks like it's on, so- [ she clears her throat. ] Greetings, fellow inmates! My name's Lucca, and I... [ she pauses for a few moments, awkwardly adjusting her glasses before continuing. ] To be honest, I'm not really sure how to introduce myself here. It's a prison, right...? On second thought, maybe that's all that needs said right now.

[ she flushes a teeny bit, barging on nonetheless. ] Anyway - I understand the need to remove all weaponry upon arrival. It's a sensible approach, really! But just in case our robotic captor is listening... I don't suppose I'd be able to bargain for the return of my Wondershot? Even if it's converted to a non-operational state - an easy fix! - I'd still kind of like it. The thing's got sentimental value, you know!

[ there's a bit of a pause after all that. and then- ]

...Robo, Ayla- Crono- heck, anyone, just let me know if you see this. Until then, guess I'm getting used to this place.

[ and with that, she shuts off the feed. ]

[Oz has a date, kind of, not really, but yeah, maybe, a friend date. Rogue and he are meeting at the beach. He hasn't run into anyone yet today so he has no idea that he has no wall between what goes through his mind and what comes out of his mouth today. But once he does figure that out, it should be interesting. So with his hands in his pockets, he's walking toward the beach with his eyes intently on the ground as he walks. Anyone is free to run into him between here and there or between there and here.

And once he gets there, he hopes to find Rogue. Friendly faces are good to spend time with.

[ Oof! Today's a big day, and the Dance Hall of the Athletic Complex momentarily has folding chairs set in a circle, and a box of random objects (a plastic tea cup, a felt hat, a bow, a tiny umbrella, a hand mirror, etc.) set in the middle. ]

[ Today's activities are... ] )

----- [ Video / Open ]-----

[ Have a cheerful greeting, inmates! ]

Hello Marina! And to those of you who just arrived yesterday, welcome! My name's Kohran and I'll be handling a Theater Workshop! You'll learn ways on how to put a stage play together and of course, how to act!

We're having our first meeting today so please drop by at the Dance Hall of the Athletic Complex in Sector 6.

(( OOC: The workshop functions as a CLASS post so tag around and mingle! Playing out the activities are optional so you can also have your kids mess around in "class" or hang out before and after class here. Observers are also welcome.

ETA: I forgot to mention that I'm not tracking this post so I don't get notifs for replies. Oops. :x ))

[An alarmed face appears on the video. Blonde hair with pink streaks, brightly colored chunky jewelry, thick-rimmed glasses. Immediately, she starts rambling.]

Okay. I'm used to weird, but this is like -- the freaking Twilight Zone. The creepy, prison-themed Twilight Zone with an embarrassingly hackable headset and no keyboard in sight, which is its own special level of hell and somewhere I'd rather not hang, capiche?

Someone please just pinch me, or do whatever it is you do to get someone to wake up from a bad dream, and preferably without any more violence than absolutely necessary, because ickiness is totally not something we need to add to the mix --

[She may not take a breath anytime soon, unless someone cares to interrupt...]

[Check it out, Marina!! Today there is a very classy (and very tall) alien woman walking through Sector 2.

She has a violin case in her hand, on her way to return it to the education center. She doesn't really have any use for it anymore, since Sentience provided her with her electric one a few days ago. But she's just. too busy being self-absorbed, so it took her awhile to get around to it. Do not judge her!!

Anyway, education center. Good.

Except she gets distracted on her way there by something called a "Pet Cafe," what even. What. Even.

After spending awhile just Staring Stupidly at this building, she turns her communicator on to address everybody. Because seriously, what is this thing..............]

[Hiling is at the arcade, if the background noise from the games didn't make it obvious. She grins as she displays a new addition she just finished installing. The camera pans from the pilot's seat to the control panel to the screen which shows two mobile suits fighting.]

My little project is nearly complete. The simulator's already got data from a few mobile suits including my own, but I want more. Anyone who wants their mobile suit or equivalent added, come see me at the arcade and we'll get that programmed in. Or just come try it out.

[Oz is sitting in his cell that he's kind of commandeered at the Defense Force. He's not in the best state of mind, not that anyone would know that who happened to pass by and look at him. He's calmly sitting crossed-legged in the center of the cell, his hands resting lightly on his knees and his eyes closed. On the inside though, it's a completely different story. Willow is gone.

Willow is gone.

Inside he's pretty torn up and trying so hard to keep calm and not think about the fact that she's gone. The only clue that he isn't okay is probably the fact that he's locked himself in a jail cell and he hasn't contacted anyone since Willow left. Anyone looking for him will find him here though. And anyone in the cell area themselves will find him here.

In order to distract himself from the lack of the red head in the prison though, he does contact Kohran directly.

[Anyone who happens to be wandering around out by the Park today may find a certain canine-esque figure curled up under a tree, fast asleep, covered in a light dusting of white powder. Judging by the way he's laying, he kind of just...flopped there, and it wasn't exactly a planned napping session.

Jack Noir's energy has just about been expended on attempting to maintain this form through the ring on his finger (which is conveniently hidden under his body where it can't be snatched). It also appears that he has a rather nasty dog bite wound on the back of his neck that's mostly clotted over in its strange...carapacian fashion. Anyone who can't spot his rising and falling chest might mistake him for dead.

After all, how many times do you see something that's been stabbed straight through the chest actually still be alive?]
[ The 164th Day ]
23 April 2012 at 09:37 pm
Good morning, everyone. Today, is the 164th day of the third generation, and as promised, the facility will be experiencing a light dusting of snowfall throughout the day. Please bundle up appropriately if you are heading outdoors, especially anyone participating in the reconstruction of the Devil's Compass. I will have cocoa prepared at lunchtime for any crew who might be interested!

I have another, less sobering thought question for you all to consider. It was brought to my attention some time ago that the rapid changing of the seasons does not suit all inmates. As many of you have likely noticed, this facility has rapidly cycled through seasons, typically changing them once every other week. The purpose of this protocol is to keep inmates engaged in their surroundings with an ever-changing environment. I am considering changing that, but another inmate expressed a preference for the seasons to change faster, as they had been.

What do you think about it? Do you enjoy the rapid rotation of the seasons? Would you prefer it to always be spring? Would you rather it to be lengthened to something more representative of your world's seasonal span? Bear in mind that everything is adaptable: the passage of time within the dome does not currently reflect the passage of time, either on your home planet, nor this planet.

Um...thank you everyone who talk t' me when I got here. An' I found Brother! If anyone knows 'im, his name's Alois!

And, um. [ Don't mind the tiny, he's a little shy addressing everyone at once suddenly. ] My name's Luca. An' it's nice t' meet everyone. And I'd like if we could all be friend, okay? [ Because when you're a small child in a prison, having friends for the first time is priority. :T ]

It's quite depressing here now that someone burned down the bar. The only really good thing in the place and someone had to throw a fit and burn it down.

Also, is it just me or are a lot of people suddenly rather depressed here? So boring. People just need to get over it.

[ Kohran is in a good mood, thanks to yesterday's festivities. She had taken note of Sentience's query, though she thinks she might need more time to ponder over her answer. However, something had been nipping at her brainstems and people will find that this is completely unrelated to machines/robots/general tinkering as she makes her broadcast: ]

Good day, Marina! How are you all doing today?

I was just wondering, would anyone be interested in holding a stage play?

[ She holds up some of the scripts that she had requested from Acumen, notably The Azure Sparrow, Trip to the Occident, and Thousand Furs. ]

We will need actors, people to work on costumes, lights, sounds and stage décor! It won't be something too big, I guess -- something light and fun where we can all work together! What do you think?

(( OOC: Hiatus schmiatus Come one, come all! There's long-term CR to be had (as plays aren't assembled in just days), and time-killing activities for your kids! Oh, and threadjacks are welcome in this post! ))

[There is video, as Rebecca adjusts it-- coming down a little bit on an angle, she's set the device on a shelf while she finishes screwing the case back on to her laptop.

It takes a minute, but then her eyes flick up and she gives the camera a two fingered little wave.]
Hey.

Looking for two volunteers for a little project Lacus and I've got going. If you've got a couple hours to spare today and don't mind letting your brain be picked at [kinda literally] I'm fielding applications right now. It involves beta testing a virtual reality simulator. If you saw us the other day around the dome, this is the next step where we put all that sweet data to use.

Anyway, if this sounds like your cup of tea, lemme know. We only need two people right now, adults only please, but we can put up a waiting list if demand is high... oh, and it's totally safe. [She shakes her hand in the air dismissively.] We've done a couple tests ourselves, I'd never put anyone in something I'm not confident about.

Woot, so that's that. Show of interested hands?

[[ooc: Responses to this post/ Rebecca will have a comment thread of their own-- and subsequent chosen volunteers will have their own individual threads with either Rebecca or Lacus watching over them while testing out the VR Machines. Virtual!Lacus may be sprinkled through out. Headers will guide the way~]]

[ Being locked up is one thing; being restrained just makes Faith's skin crawl. The fact that okay, yeah, she's kind of totally dangerous doesn't escape her but the problem here is she's usually the target of other dangerous things. Which means having a giant heavy ball attached to her leg makes her way more vulnerable. So the grunting and wheezing should be unsurprising as she tries to yank the chain off of the ball. ]

You think this is gonna help? Seriously, I get it. Normal prison wasn't cutting it, so you pull me out and dump me here. Fine, great. Three squares and a weird headset? All kosher. But this? [ She punctuates that by chucking the welcome basket away with a sneer. ] Ain't gonna cut it -- can't chain me up and dump in some graveyard like old times. I'm only declawed for humans, let's get it straight.

[ Though...now that she's looking around this place is pretty scarce for a graveyard. ]

Okay, what the hell is this? Whack-a-vamp? [ Stiiiiill trying to disable the old ball 'n' chain, here. ]

Hey, so did anyone know that prison came with headgear? I was not aware of that. I kind of feel like I should be one of those really pretentious rock stars who can't be bothered with a microphone. Also, kind of awkward to have this thing over one eye when you only have one eye.

Right, so... I was with some people. And there was a giant hole where a town used to be. Buff? Wil? ...I'll even take Andrew. Are you on this thing?

(OOC: He has an eyepatch over one eye even though not every icon confirms this!)
