[It’s been a fine day to be out and about the dome. There’s always something to catch your eye and interest you, that’s for sure. And in his days of prowling around, late night or not, Tyki’s taken himself to parts of the dome he’d never really cared to investigate before. He thought he’d heard something in particular about this—this memorial garden—but it’s not until he’s standing in front of it that it sort of rings a clearer bell.

So that’s why you get to see it, the camera switching on to look it over before shifting to the partially undone collar of one Tyki Mikk. He’s sitting in the grass next to the garden, initially a little bored seeming but he’s quick to quirk for the rolling feed. It’s a rarity he bothers with it.]
Pretty little set up, isn’t it.

The two others, too. But this one… this one seemed so familiar.

… And then I remembered. [Grinning, as if something was indeed much more amusing to him than it would ever be to explain. He waggles his cigarette in the air between two fingers.] Truly tragic, of course. Whole ship gone. [He snaps his fingers.] Just like that.

Anita, huh. So that was her name. [Dismissive, he really doesn’t care.

Clearly an evident fact by the way he purposely both stubs his cigarette out on her plaque and ensures the camera catches the gesture.]
Heard she was a brothel owner too.

[He hadn't slept much after getting woken up at stupid o'clock. That didn't stop Cross from flopping dramatically all over the mattress after returning from his late-night smoke break.]

[Hopefully Rebecca took a shower before he dragged himself out of bed because he proceeds to use all of the hot water. And then descends upon the kitchen in nothing but a towel, grumbling and slamming open the fridge and cupboards for anything decent to eat. He's sick of eating the rabbit food she keeps around, and hell if he's touching those so-called snack cakes that look like hockey pucks and probably taste worse.]

[There's a lot on Kitty's mind as she slips through the dome on her way to Reid's place. Allen's gone. That's not okay for a lot of reasons. His life back there never sounded any better than hers. Worse even. Almost like he had a theme of tragedy. Maybe why she took this route that isn't anything resembling direct to head past his place first. He was her first close friend in Marina. He helped her up when she didn't realize how down she was. She never really got a chance to fix the things she broke with him. Or maybe she had the chances and just didn't take them.

Maybe he'll be back. There were always more new arrival days. Maybe he'd remember.

Maybe he wouldn't have to remember some of it.]

[ someone sounds tired; subdued ] Don't know if anyone else is awake, but-- [ longish pause ] Allen's... gone. Yu an' Two-Spot, too.

[private each to Alma and Kitty Pryde (AoA)]

... either of you awake?

Hey, so. Still up for that movie?

If you'd rather be alone with Kitty instead, I understand. [Playfully winking.]

[action/ closed to Cross Marian - earlier that morning]

[So this part of her morning she was not exactly looking forward to. Yesterday was a very strange day. The aftermath of which she wasn't exactly having fun sorting through, but having to deal with. Even if it meant dealing with those lovely feelings of residual guilt. She was, however, very much looking forward to a warm shower and a quick change of clothes. And something to eat.

Sliding in through the door, she closes it quietly behind her before slinking into the kitchen.]

[The warnings have already been given, but it's a little too late. The gas was invisible, untraceable to the normal senses. But someone might feel it. The changes in them if they had been close enough, breathed in too much. Too bad they probably wouldn't care after that either.

It's not such a big deal now, is it? Neither is holding back on all those things they keep to themselves, or refusing to do the things they remind themselves are bad or dangerous or against the rules. Who cares about rules anymore? Why not just do what they want? Why should they hide how they feel? Why should they keep hiding who they really are? Who came up with all of these silly unspoken rules anyway?

You do not feel a loss of control. To you, it's like being more in control than you've ever been. And choosing to just go with it. You only have one life to live! Regret, remorse and reservation are all just words to you for the day. Just...try not to die or kill anyone.]

Just a curious little poll for my fellow dome dwellers, just kinda curious about something. I mean, if you've ever been to the computer lab in sector two you might've noticed the intranet set up. Not internet, of course, but it's something. Was wondering if anyone would use it more if it had some... better content? [Oh, she's thinking of a few things.]

... For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, you really need to be introduced to being online. And stat. I might even be able to hook you up sometime.

Just look at you guys, all bright eyed bushy tailed. How are you, Marina?

[ The brightest smiley face you've ever seen on a guy~ ]

I realized I missed newbie day and thought that there's something missing from the Welcome Baskets. [ With that, he holds up a flyer -- ] You know how you're kinda given a heads up with the brochure that tells you about our Wardens who can play around the space-time continuum? Well some kind soul thought that isn't enough so we have this helpful little pamphlet here: "Death Buddies and You"!

[ Then holds up both of his hands as if to stop protests. ] Now now, we're not here to make fun of dead people, just to make sure that people know what they're facing here. I'm no specialist, but if you've got questions I'll do my best to answer. We're handing these out around Sector 0 near the Shelter so inmates old and new are welcome to 'em.

[ Two girls, a brunette and a blonde wave from behind him. ]

Now, for the rules! Rule number one ... [ He then proceeds to read off the rules and after the last rule. ] Not too complicated is it? Well, we're here the whole day so come on down~

(( OOC: Gabriel will mostly be answering network posts, but he has minimally bent the reality around Sector 0 and thus have "Sugar" and "Spice" walk around handing flyers out. So if you tag action, one of the girls will come talk to you :3 ))

[Click, click, click, click, click goes the lighter.]

Seems I won't need to be telling any more stories. [He actually scoffs.

And then after a beat he just chuckles.]
Oh well.

[Private to Alma;]

Hey kid, got a great job for you. Find the fat white cat Wisely was supposed to be taking care of for me. It should be in sector four. [Since Wisely's not all up in his thoughts rn, he's assuming it was a 2-for-1 loss. If it's not, having someone check up on that idiot's still a good thing. That cat better be alive.] Probably stuck in a damn tree.

[Private to Kitty;]

Hm, how's that rhyme go again... Roses are red, violets are blue...

[ You might find Elena Gilbert out and about this afternoon. She's moseying quite a bit in Sector 2 and 5, considering she wants things to do and she still needs some more clothes and definitely needs food. (Okay, Damon, because she needs to ingest something that's not blood or alcohol.)

So you might find her poking about the pet cafe with bags in her hands, you might find her holding a sweater or two up from a rack for perusal, or you might find her trying to decide if she wants pulp in her orange juice or not. You might even find her just taking a stroll.

Mostly she's keeping to herself, but she'll have a friendly smile for anyone who catches her eye. Really, mostly - she just needed out of that apartment to feel even a little bit busy and occupied by other things. Like "not Damon" and "not being stuck here."

[Sector 4 is a beautiful, landscaped residential area of the dome, where you'll find many homes, as well as parks, a butterfly pavilion, and a beach with an observation deck for the dolphins! It might be a little chilly for a swim, since it's still winter, but there's plenty of things to do.]

[Maybe you're visiting a friend here, or want to get zen by the meditation waterfall, or sit by the koi pond, or admire the massive cherry blossom tree still in full bloom. Or maybe you're just passing through on your way to the coffee shop in Sector 5 or the arcade in Sector 3, and waiting for people to ambush you!]

[So what are you doing? Anytime of day, with anyone! Just put down your characters and tag around!]

[She's been avoiding the Defense Force headquarters and avoiding the bars which works out since she can't actually go into them. And with the temperature drop and the snow out, she's avoiding the outside too. Instead she's sitting on her bed picking apart the insides of a computer, and making adjustments to it.]

You know, your private posts are a lot easier to hack into than they should be, but you really don't say anything all that entertaining in them either.

[video/action] I Never Game!
26 April 2012 at 03:09 pm
[ greetings, Marina. Hawke again. today she just tosses a wave at the camera. ]

Let it never be said I was good at planning... well, anything... but I came across something that sounded like a bit of harmless fun. Not that it has to stay that way. [ winks ]

It's a charming little drinking game called "I Never". And if at least half of us are passed out on the floor by the time the evening's over, I'll consider it a success. The tavern would have been my first choice, but as it met a rather sad end... shall we say around eight o'clock? In the club?

((OOC: Forward-dated action in the comments! Enjoy!))

[She definitely caught up in sleep, and maybe then some. It actually leaves her a little restless as it's something she's not accustomed to. Wide awake now, however, she's been quietly playing around with her laptop in the living room before the battery was nearly out. And now she sneaks quietly into the bedroom for the charger, where she left it last bedside, casting a glance to her still slumbering bed-mate as she collects it.]

[He's not out of jail yet, but he did manage to talk Sentience into letting him out for a couple hours to work on his bar during the day. Since someone burned it the fuck down and it lay in ruins. He'll still be herded in at lunch and for the evenings, but for most of the day he'll be found at the former site of the bar The Devil's Compass. You know you want to talk to the caught psychopath torturer as he clears, cleans, tries to figure out how he's putting things back together.

Oh, his poor bar...]

[Presently before you is (1) one Rebecca Crane, her chin on the kitchen table and a cup of coffee between her hands. She shifts up to rest on her elbows after a moment, cozy in a loose knit sweater and tank top. And still tired as her yawning will attest, but there's a smile on her lips.] 'sup? Good morrrrning, Marina.

Thought I'd try and get some advice... [Camera view switching to that of the table, with a spread of a few danishes, some pâté, a loaf of Parisian bread and the last thing out of her pantry... grapes.] Not sure what to make for breakfast out of this. I kinda didn't get around to a grocery run yesterday, so it's going to be... a danish morning, I think. Danish and grapes, the breakfast of champions.

... But seriously? [There's a moment's pause, where she pulls that container of pâté closer and shows it off to the camera. Her voice is a little softer. Maybe just to not be overheard.] Who eats this? Stuffy... rich food. [Slight laugh.] What's next, caviar?

[A pause, before she sighs. Reaching for that cherry danish.] Ah, crap, I have so much to do today.

[Action/ Open - Noonish.]

[Sometime before noon she's finally pulled herself to her feet, washed her face and shaken off most of her morning lethargy. And dressed, finally. And out in the beautiful... morning sun to stop by some of the stores to pick up a few things. Cross stopping by the day before kind of derailed all her plans, so she's got groceries to stock up on. Backpack over her shoulder, she's yours to encounter to, from or in the fine act of selecting a nice head of lettuce or the like.]

[Newly freed from the hospital, Cross is making his way to a much more comfortable bed. He's doing so with slightly careful steps, but certainly nothing obvious to the casual observer. He's in damn good shape, considering. So he's going to grab a few things before heading over to said much improved bed, like some decent coffee and food.]

[His mood, as you may guess, isn't the best. So what else is new? Approach at your own risk.]
[ The 162nd Day ]
09 April 2012 at 04:35 pm
Good morning, everyone! Today is the 162nd day of the third generation, and it is still chilly, but will remain clear. I have a very important question for you all to think about today...

[Sentience pauses. The robot appears to be in the butterfly pavilion this morning, but you won't find it there, and in fact the pavilion is strangely calm; all the butterflies are perfectly still, as if sleeping.]

I know that Acumen has asked this once before, but I ask you again, sincerely. ...I want you to think about the importance of freedom, compared to the importance of safety. Would you rather that I give you the freedom to do what you wished, or would you rather that I protected you from each other, even if that means that I may have to deny you things you want, or interfere in your lives in ways you may not want?

[...after a beat] Think about it, and let me know your thoughts in the next few days.

Either way, today I have removed the debris from the former site of the Devil's Compass. As per request, I will be beginning efforts to rebuild it. Any inmate who is interested in helping in the reconstruction is welcome to do so!

And finally, Sasha, your requests have been installed in the handicraft room at the education center; and Snowman and PM, your requests are available at the shelter. You can ask any robot there, and they will retrieve it for you.

[ a video feed pops on, and then pans across the public baths. and there's a voice over: ]

Clean water... ample soap... immaculate linens... it doesn't even smell like anyone's ever been here. I'll forgive the warden for it not being deep enough to dive.

Do I really have to go home?

[ the video picks up bare feet and bare legs as Hawke hops down into the bath, and then the feed focuses on her already-getting-red face. she looks positively blissful. and yet, smirky as always. ]

I know there's a party tonight, and we all should look our very best. Would anyone care to join me? I'll wash your back, if you wash mine?

[It's busy in the hospital. Bots are puttering around, carrying supplies from room to room, keeping meticulous records for each of the patients, ensuring that all are treated and stable. Changing bandages, adjusting medications. Efficient little guys. They have to be in the wake of an Exorcist battle.]

[If you let them know who you're here to see, the bots calmly will direct you to the appropriate location. It might be a patient room, or the waiting area if treatment is ongoing. Feel free to chat amongst yourselves as you await word.]

((OOC: This is taking place between the evening of and the day following Cross's unfortunate episode and the resulting Noah beatdown. Consider it a mingle-type; people can chat in the waiting rooms or hallways at any point throughout the night or following morning, or they can come see any of the injured Exorcists.
