[action/open]
[Orihime is at a table outside the ramen shop with her head rested on her folded arms and a stack of plates in front of her. And now she's just sitting here with her head burrowed in her arms, trying to cheer herself up so she doesn't bring everyone down.

[gives up :( ]

...some people I know from home disappeared. I guess they went home -- and I know I should really be happy for them, that they're going to be back where they belong, with their families, and -- each other, and all...

[trails off]

It's hard to lose someone you care about.

[... Or so she's heard. Jasper's the only big loss she's ever had.]

[she hesitates a beat. she thinks, "it wouldn't be as bad if they died," and then she feels like a horrible person, so she deflates a little. but she just says] But you want -- your friends to be happy, so. I really want them to be happy back home.

It doesn't make it easier. It's probably healthy to be upset at this kind of situation, though.

Oh no, no way! I mean -- you're supposed to want what's best for them. As long as I know they're okay and happy, I'm happy! [unconvincing sldkfjsdg she is such a horrible person]

...I want to be happy. Ughhh. [frustrated noise. she pulls her hair a little] Be happy, Orihime!! [the hair-pulling is essential to her happiness]

[Your hand is getting thwapped lightly with the blunt end of a knitting needle, Orihime.]

You can't force yourself like that.

[... She sighs, and digs in her bag for a moment. She pulls out a slightly lumpy knitted Squiddle plush purple, like the one on her shirt and sets it in front of Orihime.]

Here.

It's a Squiddle. There's a cartoon in my world that focuses on them.
