[ there's a note posted on the board in the shelter. it reads:
You, a pregnant woman and a convicted murderer are on a boat that is sinking.
Only two of you can survive.
Who lives?
the note is in precise, straight print and is unsigned. other cards and pens lay near the board. ]

[so, Flynn is in the dining hall just outside the shelter kitchen, with a plate of eggs and a cup of coffee in front of him. he is eating, but also staring with some confusion, at a sheathed sword propped up in the chair across from him. the sheathed sword has a cup of coffee (with cream) as well]
[.........it appears to be a perfectly normal inanimate sword that has been served a cup of coffee]
