[To say it's been a difficult few days doesn't come close to covering it. You'd think he'd be rejoicing having his bed to himself again, but all it does is remind him of how epically stupid he acted toward Lina and Saber both. And when Saber came home wearing that damn collar it was the final straw. The conversation had been abrupt, her explanation dulling his initial shock and anger into an ache of resentment that compounded the one he was still nursing.]

[So he'd taken his sword and left. Now he's in the Athletic Complex, the ~~lightsaber~~ Sword of Light activated to make a blade of pure, white light. Zelgadis focuses his power; the limitations on the sword make it difficult, but nonetheless he takes a swing and manages to send a ball of white-hot fire into one of the dummies he'd set up.]

[He's careful to watch out for people, so anyone who comes to see why there's lightning visible over the athletic complex won't get in his line of fire.]

[he glances over at her, but he's already most of the way past murmuring his spell. So he swings, the sword flashing in a blinding arc, tossing a rather large bolt of pure energy at another dummy, leaving a smoking stump in its wake.]

[Finally he shrugs, not yet facing her directly. He glances at the sword and the light-blade flickers once, twice, before steadying.] Maybe once I get better with it it'll be something worthy of watching. I'm exhausted. [But he shows no signs of stopping.]

How to use it most efficiently. [Said dryly, because yeah he knows he asked for the thing, which would tend to make one assume he knows what he's doing.] I never actually used this one, myself. It draws on your energy, so it's a delicate balance in here.

If I can get the energy levels figured out, I might actually be of some use around here.

[He might also be trying very hard not to think about certain things. But he's loath to bring those up because he doesn't want to have someone else tell him what an ass he is.]

That's different. You weren't mad at me. [And you're more... his type of person. Easy to talk to, no touchy-feely junk.]

I am giving it time. That's why I'm training. But I don't think it'll really help. What Saber wants is for me to -- forget, I guess, that she means anything to me and treat her like a servant. And what Lina wants is... for me to get rid of Saber, probably. [And hopefully it's obvious why, no matter how bad things are, he can't just do that. Saber is a pain in the ass, but she's his pain in the ass.]

The servant thing is just how it works, I guess. [He strips off a fingerless glove and shows her the strange markings on the back of his hand.] These appeared when I summoned her. She's not -- the same as the rest of us. From what I know, I could "command" her for a while and use her to... accomplish whatever plans I had. She mentioned something about a Relic.

[He sighs, regloving his hand.] I told her time and again I have no intention of thinking of her that way, but she's stubborn as I've ever seen.

As for the collar, who knows? Maybe she wanted to make sure I won't touch her again. Maybe she wanted to punish herself for something so unforgivable. [Sliiightly bitter, yeah.]
