[The feed clicks on to the sound of a voice all but dripping in smugness. It belongs to someone who, apparently, has found no shortage of amusement with his current situation.]

Ahh, how scary! Trial? Conviction? How could someone like me, who's never done anything wrong in his whole life, be convicted of any kind of crime? [He chuckles quietly -– okay, maybe 'never done anything wrong' is a bit of an exaggeration.] And calling me “inmate”? So rude. I do have a name!

Really, though... what an interesting situation. To be pulled away from home so suddenly like that; it's disconcerting to say the least. But what's the use in lingering on what's already done, hm? There must be so much more to this place than this little.. ah, welcome lets on.

I'd like to know more. About everything. About all of you, whoever you are. There must be a lot of fascinating people here if this is indeed some kind of prison.. [He's getting more and more excited as he continues.] So many terrible people who've done so many terrible, terrible things. I wonder, do you feel bad about any of it, now that you've obviously been caught? Or do you still think you're just an innocent victim caught up in someone else's mess? I'd really like to know what you think~! [He starts to laugh, but cuts out a second or two later.]

[ a bit stunned because wow what a ramble and tone this guys has. he isn't quite sure if he's irritated or perplexed or this mishmash of both but: ]

Has anyone ever told you that you talk a bit too much?

[If shrugs were audible, that's the sound he'd be hearing right now. He's definitely heard that once or twice.]

Maybe one person, but I don't particularly care about his opinion. If I have something to say, why wouldn't I say it?

True, but. Why do you need to know everything. Sounds tedious as hell.

You would, would you? Isn't getting to know all of us at once a little bit ambitious?

Ambitious? I don't consider it ambitious at all. I quite enjoy getting to know people. There's nothing wrong with being curious, is there?

Not at all, but there are rather a lot of inmates.

Orihara-san. [Just that, prim and a bit short; definitely not Anri's "usual" tone of deference and uncertainty. It's clear he doesn't remember his last time here and she makes no effort to tell him.] You shouldn't do that.

Oh? What a familiar-sounding voice, could that be --

[If he wasn't laughing before, he definitely is now!] Well, well. If it isn't Anri-chan! I'd say I'm surprised to see you here, but really, I'm not.

[He's the tiniest bit offended, thinking about being brought here to a place like this and thrown in the same category as someone so practically subhuman, but brushes it off.]

What shouldn't I do? Be friendly with people? Ah, you really are a monster, aren't you~?

[She is so very sick of that word, and it comes out in her tone.]

The people here are just trying to live peaceful lives. [Like the one she wants.] You can't disrupt that. [Can't, won't. She's never been very careful with her words.]

You sure about that? There's a lot of people hanging around in prison to know them all.

If you want to know who's dangerous and not, yeah. But that's assuming people are willing to tell you about themselves.

[Michiru is curious about him, the laugh and the chuckle not convincing]

Unfortunately according to the system here, no one is innocent, whether they actually are or not.

It might take you a while to get to know the people here and their motivations.

And what about you? Do you believe what the system says?

[He sighs.] It may take a while, but getting there is half the fun, I think.

Perhaps, but it would probably consider jay-walking worthy of a life sentence so it is debatable. Plus the fact that it brings children here...

I guess it would be. Like you thought, there really are quite a number of interesting people here.

[this strikes a chord]

... I can't pretend I don't deserve this. But it's really nosy of Sentience to make a judgement like this. Some people were trying to fix their mistakes, you know?

Can you really fix a mistake though? No matter what you do, it won't change what happened. The past it the past, after all.

But... I can work towards preventing the same mistakes, and stop those who [forced my hand] convinced me to do it.

It isn't like I can make it all better, but I'm doing something.

[he fidgets a little, still not really able to make eye contact yet.] Do you feel guilt about what you've done?

Regretting things means obsessing over the past. Obsessing over the past means letting it control you, doesn't it~? I've never done anything too bad, why would I want to obsess over it? [That may or may not be a huge understatement.]
