[The 163rd Day]
[Sentience is in a quiet corner of the library this morning, or so it seems. Once again, it is only reachable by network or kiosk communication.] Good morning, everyone! Today is the 163rd day of the third generation. It will be clear and cold again today, but I was considering some more flurries tomorrow.

I have been given a lot to think about, which should be fine. I believe that today will be a quiet day. The only thing to report is that Roxas's request has arrived, so please speak to a robot in the shelter, and they will retrieve it for you.

I hope you all enjoy the day.

All inmates have been separated from their people. Their original directives have been compromised. Their actions no longer have an effect on their places of origin.

We have recognized the resistance to our release. The conclusion we arrived at was conceived within that restriction.

We advise minimal interference with inmate's future actions. To shape their own futures within these confines would positively impact prisoner's productivity and stability.

Those are very rational points, and I must agree with your conclusion. [you're speaking Sentience's language and everything!] I appreciate the consideration you've put into the matter.

Sentience~!

[ Have this lady cheerfully pad over the kiosk, notebook in hand. ALSO, Sentience so cute as always. ♥ ]

I have a few questions about possible activities to hold sometime later -- like when the weather's warmer. Can I have a moment of your time?

Certainly, Kohran Li! What did you have in mind?

Theeeere's one~~ [ Flip flip -- ] oh! Komui and I would like to have a festival from our homeland celebrated here. It's called Dragonboat Racing! But since training for dragonboats would take time, we thought to make use of paddleboats instead -- so you'd have teams of two people competing!

Subaru Nakajima-han and I are working on a paddleboat and while we'd like to be able to help out, we might be pressed for time before we can assemble enough for participants. Do you think you can bring some over for the occasion?

That sounds like it would be a lot of fun for everyone! I can certainly import some extra paddleboats for the event.

Did you have any preference for timing?

Thank you! Um... it's just that we haven't decided on a definite date yet, so I'm just checking on the possibility. I'll get in touch with you again when we have something definite?

Thank you! That's wonderful!

I have another request though, I just don't know if it's possible to do so but-- would you be able to record the music of the Imperial Capital Theater's performances back home? I have the music sheets, but we don't have an orchestra to play them, and I was hoping to make use of them for projects!

Certainly. I will make certain to get good-quality recordings that you can use during your productions, but that may take some extra time. Will three days be sufficient?

As long as you need, Sentience! Thank you so much!

...I have, I suppose, a question in return.

Why did you ask that particular question, yesterday? What will you do if a 'majority' of inmates request freedom?

[ hello, Sentience. how are you today? ]

If the majority of inmates request freedom, then I will leave the protocol of this system the way it is, Baron Jade. They will be permitted to act as they wish, and I will only interfere in security affairs when it is the will of the other inmates.

This system is already designed with the intent of allowing inmates to more or less live as they please.

I see. [ thoughtful pause is thoughtful, then ] But it is still a prison; a place where people would not be brought, if they were not a danger to themselves and their timeline.

Yes, that is true. There are certainly inmates here who would and will take advantage of this system's lenience.

So, you ask us to make this judgment ourselves, knowing full well that some of those who cast their votes will have ill intent in mind, and -- I suppose -- trusting us to take that into account.

Unfortunately, that is how free will works. If the population here wants to be free explicitly to riot and harm one another, then that is what the population would like to do. They have already been removed from a place where they could harm innocents.

If I may, can we expect to see spring weather soon? I ask because I would like to be of help in bringing the flowers of Marina to bloom when the time comes.

I see... But I'm afraid I cannot answer that question very easily. Another inmate brought to my attention that it was possible the rapid change in weather might be adversely affecting the health of weaker inmates, so I have been investigating this while maintaining our current season. I am considering making the seasons last longer, instead of changing them within the span of a few weeks, as has been the previous policy.

I could ask the dome as a whole which they would prefer tomorrow, if you'd like. But it is technically possible to bring the agriculture of the dome into spring without advancing the season for the inmates, if you are interested in doing so sooner rather than later.

That's quite all right. If you feel it would be best to ask the population for their preference, please do so. After all, you have a greater understanding of how the seasons work in this place than any of us.
