Well... it's best to avoid anyone you don't like, then. These robots have a habit of trapping two people together and forcing them to- er, to kiss each other.

[She then offers him the most meaningful look she can muster.] Standing close does the trick. [And she's making no attempt to move away. It's only fair to give him a chance to run away ~~and break her heart~~, but he doesn't have much more time. There's one on the way.]

[Well, if he did pass out, at least the barrier would catch them. It presses into their backs as the little robot hangs out, watching them in an almost voyeuristic fashion.]

[She steps in closer, not needing the encouragements of the force field to do so, resting her forehead to his, not quite going it for the smooch yet. If she can help it, she wants him to at least be fractionally calm about matters.] Because I do understand.

[PM gives him a gentle smile. She does feel bad, certainly, because she absolutely doesn't want to hurt WV's feelings, and she can't pretend that news of this will be well-received. Still, it isn't an attempt to cheat on him, and it is just a kiss, and it's not like she's going to keep it a secret. Those things may not make a right, but at least she isn't fooling herself.]

[Really, though, more than all those things, she's just tired of pretending this complication doesn't exist, whether or not AR feels the same way. She doesn't even mind how roundabout he is being. At least this will get something out in the open, and drag it screaming into the light. At least then they can all decide what to do about it. She replies very fondly.] To say the least.

[She squeezes his hands in a vain effort to keep him calm and reassured.] Forgive me, AR. I'm not a good person... I did this on purpose, because I've really wanted to kiss you.

[Everything that needs to be said has been said. Anything else can come when there isn't a robot squealing at them to kiss. She stops pressing her forehead against his and goes for it--and though she keeps it within the realm of good taste, she does her best to make sure he knows this isn't a friendship kiss. At least to give him something to properly reprimand himself over.]

[ If he could find any amount of courage to speak, he would. However nothing can escape his tongue before PM manages to nullify any opportunity for him to do so. He feels horrible, but not horrible enough to forgo his previous pledge to keep his eyes open. ]

[ The words she spoke swirl around in his head, along with a flurry of emotions that threaten to rip him in two. His very presence has become an issue, but an issue he can't find completely reprehensible. ]

[ What a terrible friend he is. ]

[ When the kiss concludes, he looks into PM's eyes, then away again. He feels sick with guilt and longing, and the feeling manifests itself onto his face. ]

PM won't let go of his hands, relishing this moment where he isn't avoiding her touch or giving her an icy cold shoulder. She thinks she understands at least part of his behavior, now, and she feels terrible for putting him through it, even unintentionally.]

I would be sick with grief if you were not.

AR, if this is... [She shakes her head to abort the sentence, trying again. There is a fear present that he will do or say something that will reduce her to pain once again. She ignores it and keeps her gaze locked squarely on him.] Let me speak with WV. I want you to be part of my life without guilt or pain. I- I... [She trails off, practically biting her tongue in trying to make herself continue.]

[She doesn't want to let go, but she won't forcefully hold him down if he really wants to pull away. Despite that, though, she isn't giving him leave. It feels like the ground beneath her is no longer as stable as it should be, and her throat is tight, and all she can think is that she can't just let him walk away with things like this.]

[PM is practically pleading with him at this point.]

You won't come between us. [She changes tact, though, because she has a feeling it's the sort of thing she'll have to convince him of over time.] Ignoring it isn't going to make it go away! And WV does care for you, though perhaps not in the exact same manner, but I know he craves your ultimate happiness.

[Adding, lamely.] So please don't walk away. I have to tell him about this no matter what, but I would prefer to have your support.

[She draws up close to him, looking like she has half a mind to kiss him again. Despite that, she does demonstrate all proper restraint. Holding someone down and kissing them until they cry is not how we solve problems.]

If... if you need time to think, I do understand. [It's really hard to force herself to draw that line, but he deserves space as much as she did when WV confessed to her.] But please try not to be so pessimistic about it.

[It's a very hard question for her to ask, not because she feels the answer, but because it's so completely personal that it feels wrong to try and pry it out of him like this. She hesitates, hoping to find an alternate wording that will get the job done without being so forthright and rude.]

If you... that is to say, on a scale of- no, no, that's foolish. [She takes a breath and looks right at him.] I suppose I'm just afraid that if I don't ask you how you really feel for me, that you'll never say. I want to hear it from you, rather than guessing, but I shouldn't force... well, anyway, I will ask you instead: can you be home for dinner tonight?

[Though she assumed he would completely dodge the not-questions, PM is still somewhat disappointed when he doesn't volunteer the answer. After all, even having an understanding of how he feels, it's nice to hear it too. At least she isn't hurt by his avoidance.]

Alright. I'll have a meat dish prepared for us. [Just to reinforce how serious she is, PM steps in and steals a brief kiss before turning to go. Not because she wants to, certainly not--right now she wants to hold his hand and talk to him until he feels okay and then go find WV together--but with the way things are, she'll at least do her best to show that she can give him a little space.]
