[The sick feeling comes and passes within an hour, Anya enduring it by lying on the couch, clutching her PDA hard enough to crack the device’s plastic surfacing. There is an ignored bowl of stew in the kitchen, long since cold, and Dagonet mewls at her a little in response to his empty food bowl.

She ignores everything but the click of the door, sliding up. She darts to the giant now in her living room, clutching at his shirt with one hand and holding herself close to his side.]

[It’s a bit later in the day when she picks up the communicator again, steadying her hand.]

Suzaku.

[She doesn’t want to look at him right now, but forces herself to.]

[It’s late in the day, the fake sun setting over the equally fake horizon, when she takes to the beach again. Sitting atop the rail of the observation deck, Anya clutches at the hem of her too-large sweater – she took off her Rounds uniform hours ago – struggling to find something to do with her hands.]
