PSA for the Yule Ball
Hey All Mariners!

This is just a PSA to let you know what's going on with the Yule Ball Event Post that will be going up tomorrow, late morning. It was either then or late tomorrow night (re: about 10PM CST or -06:00 GMT) as I will be spending the day with out of town friends.

Also, concerning the gift exchange, if your character is having a hard time coming up with something for your gift recipient, ask here and Jennifer will write up a short blurb based on what she knows about that character that we can hand wave was actually sent with the exchange notif. In retrospect, I should have asked for three things each character would have wanted during the sign-ups, but that's hindsight! If we do this again, I'll make sure to do include this next time.

Last, the post will be a mix of event threads and free for all. Event threads will be made for games as Chibiusa had a lovely idea that I think would be best done grouped together and one for performers with others encouraged to hop in last minute for their off-key renditions of the newest songs.

The rest will be a free for all, and I will be making a directory for the post to help ease those who have problems loading pages with lots of comments. Just be patient with me please because the post will be updated periodically and not in real time.

General Order of Events:

Jennifer makes a very brief speech to open up the ball, followed by dancing, followed by a break at mid-event for the mass gift exchange (which will be in a separate post as there were so many individuals who signed up. Post will go up Friday!), followed by the volunteer performers and ending the night out with less ballroom dancing and more alternative kinds of dancing.

I have a question! But because you're probably very busy with all this stuff, I'll totally understand if your answer is no.

Would you mind discussing/handwaving a conversation between Jennifer and Kaworu? Because he's asked Hiling to the ball as his date, but then he realized that he has no idea what a date entails, and she doesn't either. So if she could just give him some basic advice - pick her up, maybe get her a corsage, that kind of thing - then he wouldn't be totally clueless. Since she brought up the date, she seems like the person he'd most likely go to about it.

But since time is running short, and like I said, you're obvs very busy with this, I'm assuming it'd be easier for you to just tell me what kind of advice she'd give and then handwave the actual conversation. Let me know if that's okay? <3

I'm home for the rest of the evening so if you wanted to tag it out I'm up for that otherwise, hand waving is perfectly fine! I'm not entirely sure she'd go the route of a corsage, but she would promote getting Hiling a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates if he really wants to try and impress her.

But the chocolate only if he slips that it's Hiling he's asking out but then she'd probably feel protective because of Ribbon's disappearing!

Kaworu better take care of her :|

Oh, well in that case, we may as well thread it! It's more fun and unpredictable that way. Thanks! I'll throw up a post (we WILL have to handwave that they got one another's names, if that's okay?).

Hahahahah, well, he does find her interesting, so he's not likely to be intentionally cruel? But he'll be decidedly unsympathetic if Ribbons comes up, which could lead to some friction. I can make no promises when it comes to my feelingless angelderp.

This seems like the most appropriate place to put this since most of the gift giving for Christmas will be happening at the ball or around that time. What are your thoughts on a "IC Gift Giving" post/meme? There are a lot of characters who will probably be giving out gifts to more than just the people they got for the exchange, but I doubt everyone has time to log out every single gift they give/get.

Maybe it would be easier to have a post where people could list who their characters give gifts to and what. That way it won't be some IC plothole where people are like: "Well my character gave your character blah-blah!" and others are like: "We never knew our characters go anything."

	I plan on getting around this by just using the mail post to mail things that weren't going to be given at the party during the Gift Exchange and/or done in person in another thread/log entirely. (Reply to this) (Parent)

That's exactly what I meant! Kind of a list like:

Rayflo
To Lacus: Gift Exchange! something cute, but useful
To Cherry: something with lots of not-so-subtle innuendo
To Sakura: something very cute!

That way people don't feel obligated to tag out every single gift giving/receiving just to know what their character got. We would be backtagging into February for that (like last years gift meme XD).

	Alucard has Sakura hmm... She mostly knows her through cheerleading, so! Sakura is an outgoing, happy little girl! She loves getting herself into the middle of things and she never says no if she's asked to help. She's even on the DF! So cute dresses and hair bands and board games to play with friends might be just the thing for Sakura. And she'd look great in pink! (Reply to this) (Parent)

	So there's going to be a post for the ball (with the event threads of course) and then a post for the gift exchange? Or as Kathrine suggested with OOC gift list? For the most part! We'll have 'event threads' for just games and performers and then everyone else can simply make their own threads for everything else there doing be it hanging out by the food, sticking close to the wall, or actively engaging in the dancing. That way it's a bit more free form and people don't have to feel obligated to tagging into every event thread and creating insane word counts.

As for the gift exchange itself, either way, there will be a separate post to foster organization and we'll let everyone know exactly what we're doing once the Yule Event post goes up!

Ugh I'm not really feeling up to ~Yule Ball~ so PRESENTS:

Fletcher is getting...
...Zelda (his gift exchange person) some potted tulips.

...all his other friends get plants. Or. Something.
