In which I abuse you with more school info...
This page is no longer in use. Find updated information at [info]marinaacademy!

BEHOLD THE SCHOOL WIKI!

There have been a couple of changes since we last talked because a few teachers have dropped. I believe everyone else is still here! It can always be added to ICly or behind the scenes in handwaving. If something looks wrong, please let me know. (I realize Charley was tentative, but he'd be on there ICly, so I left him for now.)

Euphie will have an IC post shortly regarding some of this. If you have any OOC questions, you can ask them here!

For teachers! Please fill this out and I'll put together a course catalog. (Euphie will at least.) If there is more than one teacher teaching a class then communicate with each other about who will write it!

Example (not real and totally not enabling self to app from Mad Men, what?):

CLASS: Selling Ideas
SUBJECT: Advertising
TEACHER(S): Don Draper [info]madforads
TIME: Days ending in 0, 3, 7 at 3pm
LOCATION: Educational Facility — Studio B
DESCRIPTION: This class will focus on the mechanics of advertising including client contact, idea conception, copy writing, graphic design, media placement, and measuring return. It will also go into theory and concept. You're building a relationship between client and customer. You have to woo them a little. You'll learn how to get into the head of your target market, and if you've got talent, you'll learn to get into their hearts too.
SUPPLIES: pencils, notepad, a bottle of scotch, an almanac, and an open mind

Really, you can do whatever you want here, but I'm going to give you some guidelines in the pursuit of being helpful. I'm not going to fuss if you step beyond the suggestions.

Timing: "Weeks" in Marina are based on the last number of the day the AI announces. (0-9) So day 72 is a 2 day. Classes should probably meet at least twice a week and no more than seven times a week. In the catalog you might write something like, "Days ending in 0, 3, 7" or "Even numbered days." If your character is a vampire and they want to hold their classes in the evening, that's their choice!

Location: Almost all classes can and should be held in either the educational facility or the computer lab. Exceptions would be for things like gardening (and even then there might be a classroom to meet in before going out to do field work) or self defense. You can make up numbers for the classrooms. Feel free to give it the appearance of reality!

Descriptions: Your description can be as short as you want and let's say no longer than 500ish words? I'm not going to check length. I just don't want something that goes on for days. It isn't a syllabus. It's just to give people a taste of the class. Fill it out ICly for your character with whatever whimsy, humor, dullness, or fail they bring to the table.

Supplies: The supplies can be anything from a tutu for the dance class to book names you make up. Acumen has agreed to supply volumes of some books that will not rewrite themselves for this purpose! And anything else on the list will be held in stock at the store.

You can comment here with it! There is no particular deadline. Just don't make me come after you?
