MY FRIENDS YOU BOW TO NO ONE.

There are so many wonderful scenes in the films, but that might be my all-time favorite. It simultaneously shows Aragorn's true selfless heroism and the importance of the hobbits.
I have an icon for that scene which I really should upload to IJ so I'll settle for an Aragorn one.

I AM NO WOMAN. squeeeeeeeeeeee

Go Eowyn!

FOR FRODO

That is another great scene. I love that Merry and Pippin are the next to start running. I think one of the appeals of the story is the fellowship between the characters. They may not be our traditional "action heroes", but they have the best of true heroes.

Samwise - at the end of all things - thinks of Rosie Cotton! I didn't cry about Frodo remembering the Shire but I cried about Sam wanting Rosie.

For me, Frodo was just a typical hero (so shoot me) - with his weaknesses and strengths. The burden he bore was something he had committed to.

But Samwise was totally committed to Frodo. He was there only for Frodo. True - I have no doubt he would have continued the journey if Frodo had died but he would have done it for Frodo. That is something that is so totally overwhelming to me.

I agree with your assessment of Sam but I think that there's a little more to Frodo...he has amazing strength of spirit to withstand the growing power of the ring for as long as he did.

I love Arwen the warrior.

While I objectively appreciate the box office effect of the weepy love interest, ROTK Arwen was so OOC that I couldn't like her very much. I appreciated her ethereal beauty especially during the vision scene but that's just aesthetics.
