ANNOUNCEMENT
I'm sorry to announce that real life as intervened and your friendly Middle Earth mods need to postpone the marathon and discussion for THE TWO TOWERS & THE RETURN OF THE KING.

We'll let you know the new schedule as soon as we can coordinate a new date.

SORRY!

Awww, that's OK, hope RL is kinda to you all soon.

Still plenty to talk about from FOTR anyway, TBH! Some of the questions are almost a paper's worth of consideration! ;)

You read my mind. I've only now had enough time to read through the themes of discussions. You were really fast with questions.

BTW, Arwen rarely appeared in a book. That was the reason why I yelled for Lady of Rohan. Aragorn and Eowyn = TEH LOVE. She seemed to me more of life, more of action than pale Arwen Undomiel. I had to try very hard not to hate the film Arwen. Anyway, in both cases, I've got an impression that decisions about ladyloves were reached a little bit forced - Aragorn/Arwen, Faramir/Eowyn - even though it was quite evident that there were sparks, touchable
sparks, between Aragorn and Eowyn. I term such conclusion an "Ivanhoe syndrome".

Galadriel was the only one strong woman represented in a book and even she had only few and short scenes. Considering this I prefer The Silmarillion. Have you read it yet?
