[Waking up not in his own bed wasn't quite so bad. John had still been adjusting to his new flat and it still didn't quite feel like home. Being held down and injected with something, well, he can't say it was the first time that had happened. Definitely not good, but hey, it was a distraction from the grief. So he'd been kidnapped for some odd reason and dumped on a beach somewhere. He'd been in worse situations with Sherlock around.
Sitting up, John does a quick survey of his surroundings and is for a moment relieved to find Detective Inspector Lestrade there with him. The moment ends abruptly when he looks further and sees the best friend whose suicide he'd recently witnessed. John's assessment of the situation promptly goes from "sort of okay" to a struggle between "really not okay at all" and "best day ever." He's honestly not sure which of the two it is just yet.
