Clara had convinced Ellie to come along for her surprise Christmas dinner. Which basically meant she frowned a lot and told the teenager that no one should be alone on Christmas. A few hours later? Clara and Ellie were sitting on the train that would take them to the part of the city where Singer Salvage Yard sat. Clara was still adjusting to the city so she let Ellie drive the metaphoric car.
The turkey sat in her arms as Clara walked up the driveway, dressed for the occasion. Including a silly paper hat, because it was tradition. She looked over her shoulder at Ellie and gave her a big smile as she hopped up the few wooden steps to the front door. There was a sort of nervous excitement, but Clara was ready for it. It would take her mind off the things going on back home--things she couldn't change from Mandalus. She had to focus on the people in Mandalus and ending the war to go home.
She made a face at the fact her hands held a bundled up turkey. Fresh and ready to be prepared and cooked. So she raised her foot and tapped the door with her toe. Hopefully it was loud enough for all of them to hear! After a few moments of waiting and being nervous, the door opened and Clara beamed at the person on the other side.
"Happy Christmas!" she held the turkey up in her arms. "You've got absolutely no idea how heavy this is."
