mandalus :: the city of fates.

[With the Blizzard picking up the pace, most of the other people Herabec now worked with felt that they could slack a little in their duties. Herabec, however, knew better. During weather's worst, some people don't shirk their responsibilities and do them anyways; putting themselves and possibly others, in danger. Despite the weather's ill temper, and severe cold, Herabec was wearing only his normal long coat and armor. There were a couple extra socks on his feet, but that was all he needed.
He strode the streets, unhindered by the weather, occasionally stopping to help someone who was. All the while, keeping an eye out for anyone wanting to cause trouble.]

[The video feed cuts in and out as a rugged man, with jaw length hair and blue eyes is staring confusedly at the viewer. Well, not actually at the viewer, but the video device he was handed upon being brought to this place. The video cuts and re-establishes a couple times as the man pokes at the the screen.]

Umm ... hello? [He lets out an annoyed sigh.] How does one work one of these things? [It would have been nice if the man he met earlier that handed him this device had bothered to explain in more detail how it worked. After the screen cuts and re-establishes one more time, the man smiles to himself. He thinks he's got a good grip on how to work it now.]

Hello, to anyone that can ... umm ... hear, I guess, this message: You may call me 'Siege'. I am a knight of the people, where I come from. If I can assist in anyway, do not hesitate to ask. It's my honor to do so.

[He goes to say something else but stops. He stoops his head a little and focuses his sight in to the right. With this soup like fog, it makes it impossible to see more than a few meters, but he hears something that the video does not. He makes his way in the direction of the sound. While doing so the neighing of a horse is heard in the background. The fog seems to be thinning out around Siege as he makes his way towards the sound. He stops and his face of cautious curiosity turns to a bared-teeth scowl.]

The Scourge! Here?![Why? Why does it always have to be the undead? He hated fighting the undead, it was mindless danger. With an 'intelligent' opponent, one with thought, you could lead and feign them. Ghouls and Zombies were a different thing. They were tireless, once their cunning had been spent, it was no different then fighting an wild animal.]

[He quickly stuffed the device into his belt loop. Now the viewer was able to see what Siege could see. In front of him was a group of what Mandalus knows as 'clickers'. Behind them could be seen the figure of a person riding a horse that was quickly disappearing. The figure gestured at Siege and finally vanished.The clickers began to shamble and rush towards him. With a quick motion, Siege drew a sword from his hip and impaled the closest one in the naval. Then he drew the sword up through the chest cavity and out the collar bone. He hewed the head from a second one and a third. Then he screamed in pain and the feed panned down to where a black creature, no taller than his calf, had latched onto his leg and was clawing at it. He drove his sword down through the forehead of the creature and it turned into a black mist and then disappeared. As the feed pans back up, a clicker lunges at Siege, knocking him over. This tumble is enough to jostle the phone free of it's make shift harness and it bounces to the ground. Though the feed continues all that can be seen or heard, is the fog filled sky and the sounds of combat.]
