Wade in the water
Who: Siri Tachi and OTA come to me Make Believers!
What: Siri is swimming like she’s trying to distract herself win something
When: Friday, August 23nd, immediately after this
Where: the lake
Rating/Warnings: Low, probably. Maybe PG; there could be talk of death/dying and returning to life?
Status: incomplete/in-progress
It had been a whim that led Siri to purchasing the swimsuit during her shopping expedition with Padmé. It had been far too long since she had gone swimming, and knowing that there was a pool there, a lake... it made the purchase a necessity. Her choice in swimsuits was harder to explain. She’d just... liked it. A lot. It was striped and purple and had an odd appearance that reminded her strangely of home. It had turned out to be a prudent purchase, because it had gotten a sizeable amount of use while so many had been in the wrong bodies.
It was getting even more, now. It had been a week since she’d silenced her presence in the Force and he’d noticed, growing concerned and hunting her down at two in the morning with Anakin in tow. A week since the following conversation.
A week since everything changed. Since they were left drifting until a decision was made. They hadn’t spoken since. Not until today.
She’d been spending a lot of time down at the lake. Particularly in the early hours of the morning; her sleeplessness had gotten worse. She wasn’t silencing her presence in the Force, but she was certainly hiding a lot of what she was feeling in it sometimes.
And now... the sudden appearance of her warming crystal. Seeing it had felt like a lightsaber to the chest, bringing the memories of her death rushing back. She had thought she’d begun to deal with it. Yes, she was still having nightmares about it... but it was getting better.
Not anymore. Not right now. She hadn’t been able to bring herself to say more than a few words to Obi-Wan. Then she’d dropped her phone onto the bed and rushed to get change.
At least swimming cleared her mind, helped her find the calm that was so often hard to find since her death and return to life. For at least a little while. And she sorely needed it right now. She didn’t want to think about dying. About saying goodbye to Obi-Wan. She didn’t bother putting on shoes for the walk down to the lake; there was no point, since she was just going to take them off when she arrived. So, barefoot, a dark sundress covering her swimsuit, she walked the path down to the lake. Normally she would appreciate the solitude, but she was too distracted to notice. Or care.
Upon arriving, she wasted no time in slipping out of her sundress and wading into the water. Once she was waist deep she dove forward, swimming hard and fast. She had every intention of keeping it up for as long as she needed to.
