Nora Dunne ([info]unconventional) wrote in [info]magnum_bonum,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Nora Dunne & Charlie Weasley.
What: "The Mistletoe Incident" or making up some more with holiday snogging. Not Fighting!
When: Backdated to Christmas Eve.
Where: The Burrow sitting room.
Rating: TBA.

It was late Christmas eve, nearly Christmas morning and Nora was still awake in the Burrow's siting room. Everyone else was asleep, though she was almost positive that Charlie was still up somewhere in the house. Agreeing to come to the Burrow with the girls for he holidays was likely on of the best decsions she'd mad in quite a while. It had cheered Arthur and Dorcas up greatlty, as well as the twins and Marley. And then there was the fact that Nora and Charlie had spent more time together. Of course, what with all the holiday festivities going on (She and Marly had decorated the whole house with hand made snowflakes, mistletoe in every door frame, and things like that), that time was limited, but it was still there.

Holiday things were exactly what Nora was doing at the moment. She was getting the last minute gift wrapping finished. Usually she would have them done far earlier but with all the family drama going on, there had been more important things going on. She had just finished the presents to Charlie and the girls (She'd done the ones for her side of the family and Charlie's brother's, sister's and in-laws the previous day) but the huge stack of neice and nephew presents still needing to be done. Looking down, she realised that she'd used up the wrapping paper in the room, though there was some extra rolls in what she had been told was Ron's old room.

Standing up and walking to the door frame, she decided against going all the way up stairs. Chances were that one of cats that they'd brought with them would tear the wrapping on the preseents to shreds. "Damn." she muttered under her breath. Running a hand through her hair, she leaned against the door frame. "Charlie!" She shouted, hoping she hadn't woken anyone up, particularly Gwen, whose cries could wake up the whole house. "Could you bring me the rest of the wrapping paper?"

Charlie was in fact still up. He still had troubles with sleeping through the night, making him the last person to hit the sack at nights and the first person to wake up in the mornings in the Burrow. He spent most of the time in the kitchen, where he was now, since he knew that was the one place he wouldn't disturb anyone, especially when sneaking out for a smoke or two.

He did feel better, though, now that Nora and the girls were there. He saw the difference it made for both his father and his daughters, not to mention that things between himself and Nora had gotten better as well. The only "thing" missing was his mother, and the rest of the family, of course. He knew he'd see his siblings soon, but the fact that this was the first Christmas without Molly. He sighed at the thought and poured the freshly made thick hot chocolate directly from chocolate into two mugs, one for him and one for Nora, who he knew was still up and making the last holiday preparations.

Charlie had just placed the pot he used to make the hot beverage in the sink when he heard Nora call out for him. He didn't respond, knowing that if he had made a louder noise, someone would definitely wake up. He grabbed his wand, muttered a spell to clean up the pot, and grabbed the drinks. He cast one more look at the kitchen to make sure it was clean (he had gotten strangely tidy with the time he had been there), smirking slightly at the pile of books on the counter. That's what he had been doing when he couldn't sleep - reading. He had gone through quite a lot of books recently, more than he had all together in the past few years, though yes, a large number of them was related to dragons. Which reminded him, the Men Who Love Dragons Too Much: Part Three was finally out. He made a mental note to get a copy of it before leaving kitchen.

"I didn't catch that last part, sorry," Charlie said in a lowered voice when he saw her. He gave her a smile, holding up the mugs, and continued: "I made hot chocolate, thought you might like some." He stood about a metre or so away from her, handing her the drink.

Nora smiled gratefully as she took the hot chocolate. It was so much better when they weren't fighting and even though they weren't completely back to normal, being on friendly terms was better than nothing. She took a sip, closing her eyes as the warmth spread from her mouth through her whole body. "This is great, Charlie." she said, smiling up at him. "Thank you."

The warm drink had nearly caused her to forget what she had called him in for. Leaning further against the door frame, she spoke: "I asked if you could get the extra wrapping paper from Ron's old room." She nodded upwards as a gestur but her head froze as she saw something out of the corner of her eyes. Looking back up, her eyes grew wide. Mistletoe.

"You're welcome," Charlie said in response, still smiling at the woman in front of him. He took a gulp of the hot chocolate, enjoying the slight burning sensation in his mouth. The drink was hot, way to hot for some, but Charlie liked it that way. Reckon it had something to do with him being rather used to heat, working with dragons and whatnot.

He gave a slight nod ("Ah!") as Nora repeated her request. Charlie noticed at once that she has spotted something, but didn't quite realise what it was. Only when he lifted his gaze a bit, he noticed that mistletoe. He couldn't help but to half-smirk at what it meant. Nora and Marly had been rather busy that day with all the decorations, hadn't they? "Would you look at that?" Charlie said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "They get everywhere, don't they?" By 'they', he did mean the mistletoe. Normally he probably would've felt a bit uneasy, considering their situation. But he was feeling good and quite frankly, he was ready to move it along, their relationship that they agreed to take slow.

So, Charlie didn't waste much time. He leaned in, giving Nora a kiss. He took his time, admitting to himself that he had missed this so much. It was a simple, but sweet kiss that seemed to last for ages. When he finally pulled away, Charlie knew he was wearing a ridiculous grin. He tried to hide it by taking another gulp of the chocolate and forcing himself to be a bit more serious, but mostly failing.

"Accio, perhaps?" he said, knowing it was probably the most random thing he could've said at that moment. He meant getting the wrapping paper by using that spell, but it didn't matter if Nora didn't catch that. He gladly stood there, talking to her.

Though Charlie was more amused than anything, Nora was a bit in shock. Of course, when he swooped in for a kiss, she was even more in shock. She had to admit, though, that she had missed this, missed him, so much.

So when the kiss ended, she was left leaning heavily against the door frame, looking slightly flabbergasted. A few short moments later, a lopsided smile broke out on her face. Finally! They'd gone from angry at each other to not speaking to each other to politeness to friendly terms and finally they were back to this. Even the shock of it all couldn't keep her from smiling. She was down right giddy.

"Mhmmm." she said absent mindedly. She shook her head a few seconds later with a frown. "Wait, what?" She didn't have a clue what he could be talking about as all things about wrapping paper were far from her mind.

Charlie too was feeling rather, well, giddy. This was certainly an interesting development and he was more than glad he didn't hesitate to kiss her. Merlin, it had dragged on for far too long. And for what? Charlie shook it off as he wanted to hear none of that now. He was sick of pondering about the whole ordeal and man, it felt good to finally get to this part again. Best Christmas present ever - he thought so!

Charlie was quite amused by her absent-mindedness, though he didn't blame her for it. After all, it came as a bit of a surprise to him, too. He leaned in, adding with a slightly lowered voice: "The wrapping paper." He was being awfully laconic there.

Wrapping paper? "Oh!" she said with a nod. "The wrapping paper. Right." She wondered why she hadn't thought of accioing it but at the moment she was having no regrets about getting up and standing under the mistletoe. Yeah, this was a pretty amazing Christmas gift.

"Yeah, I guess that'd be a good idea." She ran a hand through her hair and let out a content sigh. "I love you, Charlie."

Charlie was also glad she hadn't thought of the spell as he was very pleased with how the night was progressing. He simply stood there, in front of Nora, eyeing her with a warm smile on his face, thinking only how beautiful she looked standing there.

"I love you, too," he replied, cupping her face with his right hand and gently stroking her cheek with his thumb. "More than anything, you know that, right?"

Nora leaned into his touch and laid her forehead against his chest. "Not nearly as much as I love you." she said quietly, closing her eyes and enjoying the moment.

"I've missed you." she said, tilting her head up toward him.
