George Weasley ([info]one_prank) wrote in [info]magnum_bonum,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Weasley Siblings
When: Today
Why: Weasley Blow up time? They need to talk about things.
Where: The leaky Caldron

Although it had been him who suggested the meeting it had taken much persuation from Alicia for him to actually go. To say George wasn't keen on seeing his siblings at the moment was a little bit of an understatment.

He yawned slightly glancing around the Caldron to see whether or not any of his other siblings had arrived yet. He hadn't had much sleep since his mothers death and to be honest? He missed his family. When he didn't notice any of his family around he yawned again and asked Tom (after Tom had said how sorry he was to hear about his mother) if they could move a couple of tables together for them.

In an instant it was done and George- even though the table was ready for the seven of them he decided he wasn't going to take a head of the table. He opted for his usual seat for family meals which was two seats down on the right. As he waited he debated on how he was going to broden the subject of his father and he wondered what the rest of the family was going to do.

He then motioned for Tom. He knew it was going to be a bad idea but he ordered a firewhiskey anyway. He needed something to calm his nerves.

Charlie was having mixed feelings about this meeting, to be quite honest. On one hand, he loved his siblings and this was a time when they needed to be there for each other and their father. And yet, at the same time, Charlie wasn't entirely sure if he wanted to see them right now, mostly because he didn't know what to do or what to say to them.

Still, despite his slight hesitation, Charlie made his way to the Leaky Cauldron. He looked a right mess with the dark circles around his eyes and an overall somewhat apathetically thrown-together look he had going on. He too had been having troubles sleeping, though his problems had started before their mother's death. None of it really mattered any more, though.

Charlie ran his gaze around the pub to spot his siblings as he entered the Leaky. He let out a quiet groan when he noticed George. Truth to be told, things weren't that good between the brothers still. This wasn't the right time to bicker, but Charlie couldn't help but be a little annoyed at his little brother. He was simply hoping they can put their differences aside and have a civilised conversation about what they went there to talk about.

So he walked toward the joint tables, giving a slight nod of hello to Tom on his way. "Hey," he said to George, his tone a bit colder than he would've liked it to come out. He too, unconsciously though, took a seat where he usually sat at the dinner table at the Burrow which was the second seat on the left. "No one's here yet, eh?" he said, smacking himself on the head mentally. This was boring chit chat, something he normally disliked. But he had no idea what he should say to his brother and complete silence would've been even more awkward.

He'd just taken a sip of his firewhiskey and took another gulp when he'd spotted Charlie walking in. Out of all of his siblings it had to be the one that he was annoyed with the most to come in first didn't it? He asked himself.

"Nope." George said his voice probably just as cold as Charlie's. George didn't say anything more, putting out a mental plea that someone else would turn up soon. He took another sip of his firewhiskey.

The last time he could remember being this cold with Charlie was when Charlie had packed up and gone back to Ramonia before finding out that Nora was pregnant with Dora. Inwardly he sighed. It had been a tough time for him then too.

Charlie was waiting for someone else to walk in as much as George. This was mighty awkward and, of course, completely ridiculous. They were brothers, their mother had just died, this was no time to act like complete twits. But this is where the good old Weasley stubbornness kicked it. Charlie was not about to make the first move of reconciliation, it was George who attacked him without even hearing him out. In his mind, he had every right to be annoyed at the man.

"I see," he gave a brief nod in response and took a look around. There weren't that many people there which, in some way, was a shame because right now, the pub was fairly quiet when considering what it was during the peak hours. That meant all the more uncomfortableness for him. When Tom came to ask if there was anything he could bring, Charlie simply ordered a glass of water. Merlin knew how he would've liked to grab a bottle of firewhiskey, but he knew he couldn't. Drinking hadn't been a real issue for him for years now, but still he thought it was best to be safe than sorry. Charlie was never too good with dealing with problems, having the tendency to turn to alcohol and not knowing where to stop in times like these when he was younger, so he decided to keep clear of strong drinks when times got difficult. He still remembered how easily in similar situations simple drinking turned into a bit of a competition between the two.

Ginny felt like a hippogriff running around with its head cut off, lately. There were so many things to be taken care of plus her three little ones that she hated having out of her sight. So, as usual, she was running a bit late. Checking her watch as she finally managed to get herself together enough and the kids settled and Harry checked and the dog fed and mail sorted and everything else that she hated to leave undone in the house, she realized she was a good bit behind. She grabbed a pinch of Floo Powder and flooed directly to the Leaky. It was simply easier that way.

She came stumbling out of the fireplace covered in soot and slightly dishevled, but after a quick dusting off, she was right as rain again and gave a short look around in search of her brothers.

"Hi boys." she greeted giving each a peck on the cheek and a half hug hullo. "Just you two here then? Where's everyone else?" She asked as she took a seat beside Charlie

"Yeah just us two," He said with a warmer smile and a warmer greeting to Ginny than what he had given Charlie moments before. "Not sure about everyone else."

Unlike Charlie, George hadn't managed to control his drinking just yet. Most of the time he could stay away from it, it however was still his main way of handling things. In the back of his mind he rationalized that it had been his only drink that he'd had since his mother had died.

He was studying the table, letting full Weasley stubbornness take control. He was not going to be the first one to talk between him and Charlie. Not if he could help it.

Charlie gave his little sister a faint smile. He was glad to see her and not just because she was a good distraction from the hostility built between Charlie and George. "Haven't heard from them either," he said with a much different, warmer tone than he had used with George.

He noticed how George had become oddly interested in the table before them. He also noticed the look on his face. Charlie could read almost every expression George could come up with, being brothers can do that to you. Right now, he could tell that this was about who broke and spoke first. He'd be damned if he was the weaker one.

So instead of paying attention to George, Charlie turned to Ginny. "How's the family?" he asked her.

Ginny vaguely noticed that George was being particularly quiet, which was a bit off color for him, but then again, she figured they were all a bit off color since their Mum's death that it didn't exactly register. She wasn't entirely aware of the tiff between her two elder brothers, and therefore wasn't looking for signs of how to make it right between them. Instead she let out an almost tired sigh and quietly ordered a glass of water from Tom.

"The family is...well, it's still a bit much for the babies I think, and you know Harry is trying to balance just about everything between the office and helping out. But generally, everyone's doing a right sight better than they were." She said with a small shrug. Hermione's death had come as a shock and had taken a toll on them all, but Molly's death was a bit more frightening. It was pattern revealing and so it made them all worry that much more. "Everyone's still worried over Fleur as well." She rubbed her eyes a bit before giving a half-hearted smile to Charlie.

"How're things on your end, then?" She asked softly.

George bit his lip wanting to hear what Charlie had to say. He was generally interested about the girls and hoped they where okay, he just didn't have the heart to ask him himself.

More to the point he didn't know if he could ask Charlie himself.

Charlie was glad to hear that everyone's doing a sight better than before. He listened his little sister talk, nodding slowly as she spoke. He wasn't too surprised to hear about Harry, though. After all, he was a good man who did everything in his power to help which was certainly an amiable quality.

Charlie gave a quiet sigh at the mentioning of Fleur. There was still no significant improvement in her condition and it was worrying the hell out of all of them. It didn't help, knowing that was not much anyone could do right now for her or for her family. All they could do was hope she'd wake up.

"The girls are doing okay, I guess. The only one really worrying me is Dorcas," he stared at the glass in front of him, frowning. Dorcas was not doing so well. She was still aloof, not interested in much interaction with others and keeping mostly to herself. "I've never seen her like that. She's so distant."
