I'm sorry I've been so terrible at keeping in touch over this summer but I wanted to be one of the first ones to wish you a Happy Birthday! You're of age! I'm sending this early in case you do have any plans that don't just involve you and the boyfriend, and I'm keeping your presents hostage until I can see you in person.

	Marietta, Michael and I are exploring Manchester this afternoon -- we're going to pretend to be tourists; he's teaching me an American accent -- but I'd love to make other plans as well! Maybe we could all go out for ice cream in the evening. Let me know if that sounds good and maybe we can Owl Roger, Maggie, and Winnie to see if they'd like to come too.
