I've been here for a couple of months now and just... done nothing. I go to school, but I've made no friends, and I don't have a job like I wanted to, and I'm really only hanging out with one person, and she's great, but I don't want to like. Oversaturate her on Fiona to the point where she doesn't want to see me anymore and I really am left with nothing.

So I need a job.

I need friends.

I need to get out of the house and do something that isn't having sex.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Putting this out there in the universe:

I need to enroll at the local high school, I think. I've been trying to work out how I got here, and I'm coming up with nothing, and I can't work out how to get home, either not that I really want to if I'm honest but I am qualified for nothing, so I need to finish my high school education. So... how do I enroll without a parent's signature? Because I've tried calling my mom a couple of times and the call won't connect. Do I just get my... guardian to sign for me?

And what's the school like? I've been pretty spoiled school-wise for the last little while. Who are the teachers to avoid, where are the best places to eat lunch, what's the dress code?

I'm off tonight, but starting tomorrow at the Red Pepper, I've been given permission to add a few Southern dishes to the menu, including Molasses-Brined Roasted Chicken and Cajun Spaghetti. And of course, a dessert - Pecan Pie. If I couldn't do up a good pecan pie my grandma would be rolling in her grave at me.

I almost forgot!

For all of you who attended the fair, it's interesting to note that amusement park rides are actually one of the least dangerous forms of recreation available to the public. Despite the common perception, the rides are actually quite safe. With only 2500 injuries reported annually in approximately 300 million rides, you have less than 1 in 100,000 chance of being injured by a ride at a carnival.

Compared to the 1 in 14053 chance of being involved in a fatal car accident, the 1 in 75,000 chance of being hit by a comet or asteroid, or the 96.4 in 100,000 chance of being injured by a toilet, you can see that it's quite clear there's very little danger.

Added to that the fact that 60% percent of the accidents that do occur are because of people who disobey the posted rules, and it seems that there's very little to worry about at all.

I don't know where I am (I've been told "Madison Valley", like that means anything to me), and I don't know how I got here, but what I do know is that I'm in no hurry to leave. Everything that was hard and upsetting about my life doesn't seem to exist here, and I have an opportunity to completely reinvent myself, outside of Declan, outside of Laura - outside of Holly J and Anya and Riley and Adam...
