Sue was looking forward to her date with Adam. Regardless of what happened between them, she was glad to have known Bobby for just the short period of time they had. She was hopeful that maybe something would happen between them because she did genuinely like him. Adam had been kind and welcoming to her when she'd first arrived about nine months ago, and flirting with him and just been natural. Johnny's staunch disapproval of it had been a good reason to push it aside, if only because she'd only just been finding her footing and didn't want to argue with her brother about it. And, to Adam's point, he hadn't been ready. But now, maybe there was a chance?
She hadn't been on a date in years though, so she spent a good hour or so getting ready. At a quarter to six, she was ready, dressed in skinny jeans, a nice blouse, and some minimal makeup. Sue had decided to leave her hair down for dinner, but she did add a few loose curls here and there to make it a bit more interesting. She left some money for Archie to get food for himself, whether it was a pizza or something else she didn't care, and told him that if he went out, he should be home by midnight. She worried after him, even though he was more than capable of taking care of himself.
At six on the dot, she heard a knock on her door and took a deep breath. There wasn't anything to be nervous about. It was a date, yes, but it was with Adam. She liked Adam and they already knew they got along well. This was different, but not. Sue opened the door with a smile, genuine and warm as she caught sight of him. "Hi," she greeted, mentally scolding herself for acting like a teenager. "Let me just grab my coat."
