iPod halp!
I have an 80gb iPod classic and every time I plug it into my Macbook to sync it, the iPod itself crashes. I've checked the apple website and tried googling it but to no avail - the only things I can find are about iTunes crashing. Instead of it saying 'connected', it freezes on the last track I was playing and won't respond until you reset it by holding the centre and menu buttons. After I reset it, I can plug it in and it works fine - it just seems to be the first time that it happens which makes it more of an annoyance than anything else.

I got it for Christmas last year and it has been fine until now, I've only noticed this happening in the past week or so... was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to fix it? It's still under warranty, so is it worth taking it to the apple store for them to look at it?

i think my 80gb ipod of the same vintage was doinng the same thing and stopped when i did a restore (which wipes the ipod clean). if that doesn't do it, take it to an apple store, maybe (and maybe bring your macbook along, too, just in case the ipod doesn't freeze for them).

My Ipod hasn't done this...but people Iknow have had similar problems. However, a quick appointment at your local Apple Store with a Genius should be able to help you out.

I restored it now and it seems to be working okay, but thank you anyway. :)
