Age: 45 (appears and acts as if she is 20, since that's when she was turned)
Birthplace: Los Angeles, California
Sex: Female
Occupation: Waitress at The Last Round
Appearance: Tegan appears to look like almost any other 20 year old around in the 21st century. Down to tattoos, piercings, and a dyed asymmetrical haircut. She has big brown eyes with long lashes. Her features although pretty, fall into that eerie androgynous zone which can cause confusion for some when trying to figure out whether she is male or female. If it wasn't for her breasts and slightly curved hips, she knows it'd be impossible for some to make the right guess.
Personality: A strong willed woman in both life and death, Tegan only lets on that she is not human when she feels she needs to (ie: when trying to explain why she doesn't like going out during the day and every other excuse just isn't working, or why she feels so cool to the touch). She tends to come off as cold to those who don't know her, but family and friends know she is a caring person who will fight to protect them. Out spoken, she at times lets tact fall away to say what she means.
Special abilities/talents:
Supernatural Affinity: Species/Group: Vampire Power(s): Animal Telepathy Level: Two Affiliation/Rank:(if applicable) Preferred Prey: Human
History: Tegan was born to a loving young couple in Los Angels, California in 1963. She grew up pretty much how any girl would, with dolls and cute dresses, soon finding her own style. But as she reached her teen years she got a bit of a rebellious streak. And by rebellious streak, it means she became more than her parents were willing to deal with and just let her leave. By 17 she had moved in with a group of "older" friends who had convinced her they were all she would need. Needless to say when Tegan's parents stopped hearing anything from her about three years after she had moved out...they didn't exactly try to find out either. Truth be told, Tegan's friends were actually a group of vampires who had found a naive girl they could use to feed from, drugging her with their own blood to keep her around. A few weeks after her 20th birthday when someone realized "oh wait, it was her birthday the other day, wasn't it?" they decided to give her a "gift." Tegan had never expressed wanting to become like them, so the forced change was not welcomed. As soon as she grew strong enough, and had done enough research she ran to Mysteria, North Dakota where she ran into a human who was taught enough about vampires to know what a wooden stake could do some harm to her. The time from when she reached the town to a few hours before she was staked became a blur for Tegan when she was brought back thanks to a curious new home owner who found her in the shed on their property.
Upon waking up, Tegan took her time to come to terms with how long she had been out of it. She found herself with various tattoos and piercings with no real meaning to her since she didn't know why she got them. She made her best guesses about the ones on her arms, figuring those were quick, possibly drunk and meaningless things. The one on her back perplexed her the most, but she often doesn't think about it since she can't see it on a day to day basis. Tegan quietly managed to get everything the house owner had put in her name, using the same means as her sires had and fed her blood to him. Once that was completed, she killed the man not knowing this would result in him haunting her (well the house and the car-but close enough to haunting her). Since she rather just throw salt around from time to time than burn down the house she worked so hard for, she's dealt with him the past two years and almost forgets that he's there. Before his death, the man adopted a puppy. She felt drawn to the dog, and oddly thought she could feel that he wanted to be with her. At first she just nurtured him, able to judge how much she may need to help him. As time went on she noticed what he was feeling was more than just an emotion and slowly grew to be more and more of an image. Getting herself a job has prevented her from working on this talent (which she blindly assumes comes from her vampiric ablities). Tegan's made her newly acquired employment at The Last Round seem as if she's been there for ages, making a comfortable niche there so she doesn't have to start from scratch again.
Flaws: Tegan is haunted by the previous owner of her house since she killed him after taking everything he owned. She tried giving him a "proper" burial, but is too stubborn to do much more than that. She figures it at least gives her home character, and someone for her puppy to bark at when she's not at home. She and her ghost have somehow worked out a bit of a neutral co-existence since Tegan often argues with the ghost that she's given him a grave, and that he's the one holding on to a world that isn't his.
Tegan suffers from being a heavy sleeper. She's still a young enough vampire she can't really do much to alter it, so if she hasn't gotten enough sleep, you're shit out of luck in getting her awake. Even her dog struggles to get her to rise. At times she'll avoid sleeping if she has to do something at a certain time. She struggles with light sensitivity as well, so if she can manage to sleep while there's any form of daylight, she's better. Often times at dusk or dawn if she happens to be up, Tegan is spotted wearing sunglasses, and sometimes shielding her eyes even more. In white-walled rooms she can become disoriented and it gives her a harsh headache.
Merits: Along with her Animal telepathic ability, Tegan has a bit of Animal Affinity. Tegan's only strongly noticed it in the dog she owns now, but has noticed that other animals seem to pay a little more attention than one may think is normal.
In her years slowly gaining her home, she managed to get a decent hookup with his lawyer. Although instead of having to pay him, he usually asks for a bit of blood. Not too bad of a trade off in her book as long as he doesn't ask for too much.
