Nickname: Zeke, or sometimes 'Caveman' to his old Army buddies
Birthplace: Honolulu, Hawaii
Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight Marital Status: Bachelor
Occupation: Zeke's official 'day job' is as a Tracker - he assists finding people who are lost or hiding in the wilderness. His other job is as a Demon Hunter.
Appearance: 6'5", he's got a long, lean, muscular physique, swarthy complexion, exotic grey/green eyes, brown dread-locked hair, and wears a beard & moustache. Has an assortment of tribal tattoos and battle scars, the most prominent of which are the scars on his back.
Personality: Zeke's the kind of guy that moves as the impulse takes him - even if he had decided to remain in the military, he never would have progressed much further in rank than Captain, because apart from the fact he's too pragmatic to kiss ass, he's better at thinking on his feet than long term strategy - it's not that he can't strategize, just that he doesn't really want to sit around and wait and plan when he could be doing something now. He can at times be very easy going and patient, but like the volcanoes of his homeland, his temper can sometimes flare with little to no warning.
Special abilities/talents: - Tracking: Zeke's an experienced woodsman and can track many different kinds of creature be they human, animal, or supernatural in nature, especially well in the wilderness. - Survival: Zeke don't need no stinkin' civilization - he can take care of himself in the wild by living off the land. - Combat: As well as being trained in Hand to Hand combat (Krav Maga), Ezekiel's proficient in the use of many different weapons, including but not limited to knives, guns, and bows. - Creative: Zeke plays guitar, though this is really only for his own enjoyment. Like his mother, he's also good at clay sculpting and stone carving.
Supernatural Affinity: Species/Group: Human / Elemental Power(s): Earth Affinity Level: Three Affiliation/Rank: U.S. Army Captain, Resigned Preferred Prey: Demons, other supernatural creatures that prey on innocent people, and from time to time large game.
Born in Honolulu to a Polynesian artist and a U.S. soldier posted at Fort Shafter on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, Zeke spent the first five years of his life in his native islands before his father was re-assigned, and the family moved to Virginia. When he was six years old, his parents were killed before his eyes by a demon, and the only reason he survived the attack was because his parents made him promise not to leave the safety of the cupboard in which they hid him.
He was sent to Alaska to be raised by his Uncle Enoch, a reclusive woodsman. Enoch didn't exactly know what to do when it came to raising a kid, but he did his best, teaching Ezekiel everything he knew about hunting, tracking and survival. It was at this point in his life that Zeke first became somewhat aware of his elemental affinity for earth. When Enoch got attacked by a brown bear and died, the boy (who was already a strapping lad at fourteen years old) decided he was old enough to fend for himself, and as he and his uncle lived in a fairly isolated location away from a community, he managed quite well at it for several months - right up until someone came to the cabin to ask the Enoch to help them track someone, and realized that Ezekiel was living there by himself. Zeke was able to help them track down the people they were looking for, then afterwards the reluctant boy was taken into custody as a minor, but was soon adopted a man who'd known his uncle and his wife, who became Zeke's legal guardians.
At 18 years old, Ezekiel enlisted in the army, going on to serve six years, 2 of which were served in Fort Shafter, which allowed him to reconnect with his Hawaiian origins & heritage. He achieved the rank of Captain. In January of 2001, Zeke's unit was sent to El Salvador on an aid mission to help free people buried in a landslide which buried over 1000 people, killing over 800, resultant of the January 13 Earthquake. It was while on this mission of mercy that Zeke's unit was attacked by a Ravener Demon, turning his men on each-other using a mixture of telepathic and telekinetic powers. Literally stabbed in the back by one of his own men, the demon left Zeke for dead, burying him along with the rest of his unit with a telekinetically triggered another minor landslide - Zeke however, being an Earth Elemental, managed to survive, and free himself (as well as two of his men) from the earth. Once he was released from hospital, he had to do desk work while he recovered from his injuries - something that was not to his liking at all, so when his commission came to an end, he didn't sign up for further service - besides, he had a new mission to attend to now - hunting down the demon that had killed his unit, and destroying it. Along the way, with the Earth whispering hints to him, he came across many other dangerous supernatural beings preying on innocent beings, and dealt with them accordingly.
He's currently pursuing a Bagat Demon which is headed straight for Mysteria.
Controlling - Zeke's a leader, not a follower, and likes things to be done -his- way. That isn't to say he'll never ever let someone else take the lead, but he has to respect that person a lot and trust their judgement.
Obstinate - Once Zeke makes up his mind about something, it's nigh on impossible to change it, or at least very difficult.
Tactless - In Ezekiel's opinion, diplomacy is akin to dishonesty. If he dislikes a person he doesn't usually bother to hide it any more than he hides it if he likes someone. If he's angry, he won't pretend otherwise.
Protective - Of anyone he considers his (his army unit, his woman, his family, etc.) as well as anyone who he considers needing it - he has a natural protectiveness of women and children.
Dependable - Ezekiel can be counted on to help out his friends and allies when they need him. If Zeke says he'll do something, he'll do it, no matter how difficult that task may become.
Honourable - If Zeke gives his word, he honours it. No dodging, avoidance or dishonesty. By the same token, there are just some things he simply won't promise - can't break it if you don't make it.
Random Info: - His middle name, Kawikani, means "The Strong One" in Hawaiian. - Gets his exotic appearance from his mother who was Polynesian, his father was Caucasian. - His mother was a painter and sculptress, his father was a U.S. Army Officer. - Occasionally still does Search, Rescue, and Restoration work in the wake of natural disasters. - Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology he got while he was in the Army. Given his innate understanding of the element of Earth, it was pretty simple for him. He went on to become an Engineering Geologist with the U.S. Army Engineering Corps. - He hates demons absolutely - not really surprising, given the givens. Other supernatural creatures he judges on a case by case basis. - Feels survivors guilt for managing to survive both the attack on his family and the attack on his unit, while others died.
