Occupation: Park Ranger and occasional Guide-for-Hire
Appearance: Almost six feet tall, Brian is 165 pounds of muscle. He keeps his light brown hair cut fairly close, though often he'll go a few days or weeks without a shave if he's out in the woods or just ran out fo razors. He's a ready smiler, and when he does, his blue eyes light up.
When he's not in his NPS uniform, Brian usually dresses casually in a t-shirt and jeans. Occasionally he'll pull on a button up or suit coat, if he needs to dress up. When he's hiking or camping, he wears lots of layers.
Personality: Quick to try and mediate disagreements, Brian hates confrontation. But what he hates more is intolerance, so he is willing to overcome his hatred of confrontation to right a wrong that he sees in the world. But his mediation skills have led him to become very diplomatic.
Brian is the type of guy who is always willing to give a smile or joke, no matter how he's actually feeling. He would much rather someone else feel happy while he feels sad than the other way around.
The ways of treating a woman right are not dead so long as he is alive. Brian believes in being as courteous as possible toward women, and protects those women he loves with all of his heart and soul.
Special abilities/talents: Brian is a very skilled woodsman.
Supernatural Affinity: Species/Group: Human of Born Werewolf lineage Power(s): None
History: It's not unheard of for a werecouple to give birth to a child that is human. Thus is the case for Brian Chase. After many years of trying, his parents were thrilled when they finally conceived. But, nine months later, they were given the disappointing news that their son was... normal. Refusing to believe it, they waited until his second birthday to share it with the rest of the pack. By then, their fat little baby had charmed his way into their hearts, and they decided to raise him with just as much love as they would have if he'd been born were.
As he was growing up, Brian usually played away from the other kids in the pack, his parents fearing their strength could easily crush their mortal child and kill him. That's when he first began to notice Harper. She was different, too, her heart condition making her seem weaker. But Brian always saw the inner strength she had, and secretly circumvented a lot of the teasing she would have endured at school. Usually this attention fell on himself instead, leaving him bruised more often than not. But he took the beatings with a small feeling of relief.
Having no particular ambitions to visit the world outside of Mysteria, Brian started training with the sixty year old park ranger that was stationed to watch over the parks. His hope was to make sure the wolf pack always had a safe place to call home. Since he had a particular aptitude for camping and hiking, he also started to offer his services as a guide if anyone wanted or needed such services.
The old man died recently, and now Brian finds himself the sole Ranger in this part of North Dakota. It suits him just fine, and he lives in his cabin in peace for the most part.
Flaws: Silver Allergy- Likely inherited from his parents, Brian is allergic to silver. It's not quite as severe a reaction, but he avoids it as much as possible.
Low Self-Image- HELLO! Kid born to wolf parents, in a wolf pack, and he's not a werewolf! It's practically the recipe for low self-esteem. He's not good enough for the wolves, and he's too weird for normal people. In his mind, at least.
Loner- Brian's been on the outskirts of social circles his whole life. In the pack, he feels like he doesn't fit. During school, he didn't really have a lot of friends. And now he lives alone in his cabin, really only meeting people when he as to venture into town or is hired as a guide.
Burns Water- Brian is a dismal cook. Since he lives alone and isolated, he usually resorts to canned or frozen food.
Merits: Innate sense of Direction- Brian doesn't get lost. Period.
Survivalist- Brian knows everything you would ever need to know if you were stranded in the woods, the desert, or the ocean. He's a good guy to have around if you anticipate needing those skills
