Blake Parrish
Name: Blake Parrish
Age: 17
Sex: Male
Appearance: Street punk is the first thing that comes to the mind of most when they first see Blake. With his baggy pants and plenty of hoodies, it’s not hard to picture. Summer time it’s the baggy pants and a tank. Blake isn’t overly tall but neither is he short, standing around 5‘ 8“. His hair is a light shade of blonde and his eyes a bright blue. His face is one that all the girls swoon over and he knows it. The cocky air around him seems to attach more girls than it repels.
Special abilities: Blake is skilled in picking locks and hot wiring cars.
Supernatural Affinity
Species/Group: Human/Witch
Power(s): Black Magic
Level: Intermediate
Personality: Life on the streets as made Blake street smart and tough around the edges. He’s a friendly enough sort even if he does have a mouth on him. If he’s upset he’s learned not to let it show. Unfortunately he hasn’t learned the same when he gets mad. He’s cocky and thinks he can take on the world because it’s always been him against the world. To those he decides to call friend, he’s loyal. Blake always seems to be falling into some kind of trouble, whether he makes it or not. He won’t back down from a fight and that more often than not just causes more trouble for him.
History: Blake doesn’t remember his early childhood or who his parents were. His first memories begin when he went into the foster care system at the age of six. From the start he got bounced from home to home for one reason or another. As he got older he just expected to have to move on and didn’t even try to please his foster parents. Blake did what Blake wanted. He snuck out late and usually found some type of trouble to get into.
By the time he was 15, Blake had been through more foster homes than he had fingers to count and spent most of his time on the streets. He knew how to break into just about anywhere and was a good thief. He could break in, hot wire, and steal a car. And he could use magic.
He started learning when he was 14. One of the foster parents he ended up with were a wee bit crazy and heavy into magic. He stole some of their books and quickly became infatuated with it. Blake found that he learned easily even on his own and was soon stealing what he needed to learn. It was the small stuff at first. This past year he’s been getting into the heavier stuff.
Recently Blake got moved to a new foster home, again. Having to come to Mysteria didn't seem so bad. After all as soon as he stepped into the town he could feel the magic running underneath of his feet. The downside is that with so many kids in the system, the system doesn't always see everything there is to see about a foster home. Blake's newest foster father likes to drink. When he drinks he gets mean. It's a wonder Blake has used black magic against him, but then Blake doesn't want to leave Mysteria, the call of power being too great.
Weaknesses:
Blake is addicted to the magic. He can’t go without using. Even some of the things that he could do without magic he uses it for. He refuses to stop and goes out of his way to learn more or get the things that he needs for a spell, even if this means stealing.
Overconfidence seems to be a problem for Blake. He thinks he can take on the world and win. You’re bigger and badder than Blake and wanna talk smack? He’ll kick your ass homey, or at least he thinks he can kick your ass until you send him flying across the room. This is a problem when it comes to his magic also. He often thinks he can handle a spell when he can’t. Backlash is a bitch.
Not only is Blake overconfident, he’s got a bit of a God Complex. He learns magic quickly and almost always has a spell or two ready at the tip of his fingers. As long as he has his magic nothing can touch him right? Right? Wrong. That big bad don’t look so bad when you think you can blast it into last century. Blake just happens to forget that the bigger the spell, the more drain on his energy, and if you don’t get the big bad the first time, it leaves you open for counterattack.
Forget the unassuming bit. Something goes down and Blake’s there, he ends up being the usual suspect whether he did it or not. He’s just got that air about him that makes you think that he did it. Okay, so sometimes that’s the cause, but even when he didn’t do it he normally ends up with the finger pointed at him.
Hothead. Blake has a temper and if you piss him off he’ll take you on anywhere, anyplace. When mad he isn’t above using his magic to win, even if it tips someone off that there’s something off about him.
Blake has a tell when he uses magic. A little magic and a black flame leaps up in his eyes while it’s being done. Stronger magics or when he’s using a lot of magic causes his eyes to go completely black. It tends to give away who did it if someone is looking at him while he whispers a spell or two.
Strengths:
Even though Blake has no idea who his parents are, magic is in Blake’s blood. He learns quickly and is able to remember spells with ease. It’s why he’s been able to learn as fast as he has. And become as addicted as he is.
Living on the streets has given Blake plenty of contacts. If he can’t do the job or help you out then he knows someone that can. Sure, they might not have the cleanest records in the world but they know what they’re doing.
