Occupation: Bartender when he isn't living off the money he has taken.
Appearance: Grifyn is five foot eleven and a force to be reckoned with. Years of fine tuning has honed his body into the machine he's always wanted it to be (and needed it to be) - sculpted and ripped there isn't a spot on his body that doesn't show some form of definition. Average legs, narrow hips and broad shoulders Grifyn is capable of turning a few heads but not just because of his body. It's his sculpted features - the strong line of his jaw usually covered in a light layer of stubble, full mouth and high cheekbones. His eyes are as dark as obsidian and framed with lashes so thick they almost look fake. The intensity of them is almost unsettling to look upon as it seems as if he is looking into your soul - or drawing you into his own. To top off the picture his black hair is only a few inches long and usually gelled into a mussed on purpose look.
Personality: Grifyn is what you would call a playboy. Bold and charming Grifyn knows how to sweet talk and charm a woman. Clearly confident Grifyn appears to be a casual, outgoing, regular hot guy. Little do people know what really lurks beneath the charm and sophistication. Dark and twisted Grifyn has the mind of a serial killer. He sees people as prey, victims that may or may not offer him a challenge. Or have a wealth worth ascertaining. He is devious and plotting and enjoys every minute of it.
Special abilities/talents: Over the years Grifyn has made sure he learned the art of guns and knives.
Supernatural Affinity: Species/Group: Black Magic/Warlock/Skinwalker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinwalker) Power(s): He is capable of shifting into any animal he wants - whatever is suiting to the situation. He prefers the form of a panther, owl, crow and regular cat Level: Grifyn is pretty strong when it comes to his powers. He is capable of shifting his shape at any time with little difficulty. However, shifting from one form to another form that is not his human form can have it's consequences later in the form of migraines of exhaustion from the strenous nature it takes for him to shift so dramatically and so fast. He is still working on getting pat that. Level: Advanced Affiliation/Rank: Grifyn works along side his sister. Preferred Prey: Grifyn will attack anything he feels he can.
History:
Life was never easy for Grifyn. Born to parents who weren't ready nor wanting him Grifyn was the eldest in a New York family. Living in a three bedroom apartment in Brooklyn with his parents Grifyn suffered ridicule on the streets and in school for being the small, scrawny kid. He wasn't popular and he wasn't cool. He was too thin and quiet to defend himself so offered suffered the teasing in quiet. It didn't ease up when he got home either. By the time he was eight, he had a one year old sister who seemed to be mainly his responsibility as his father was a drunk that spent the day in a stupor and his mother worked three jobs just to keep the family afloat leaving her miserable and exhausted whenever she was home. Life was dreary and seemed to be going nowhere fast for Grifyn. When he was eleven though he heard of something - witchcraft. He heard of the things it could do, how it could make things better and without thinking twice started to dabble in it.
Soon he became obsessed with the craft - with controlling and manipulating it, using it to his advantage. It became his home away from home, his art form. Around him his sister started to grow up, her sweet and laughing nature immediatley putting her first in her parents eyes. She became their golden child and only grew higher in their esteem as she got older. They entered her into dance where she accelled - and people began vying for her to join their company. To his parents Grifyn became just another mouth to feed, the weird child that spent his time holed up in his room and preferred the darkness.
By the time he was 18 Grifyn was a master at his craft and nobody picked on him anymore. The gym was building his body and he had already grown into his features. He was a mystery to those around him, a hardass that no one threatened and he loved it. The one thing he wanted though he couldn't have - his parents love. No matter what he did, what he got from them or how hard he tried to impress them it never worked. His sister would always outshine them with her awards, her beauty and her talent. When Grifyn turned 20 he couldn't take it anymore - he couldn't take being ignored. He couldn't take her. So after casting a particularly powerful spell earlier in the day he spent the night his parents had gone out torturing his sister with a razor blade. He took his sweet time killing her - destroying her spirit and then destroying her body. Unleashing the spell from earlier he made the scene look like an attempted robbery gone bad - and it worked. That night though things started to change for Grifyn - the physical pain that assaulted his body was overpowering causing him to weep as he curled into a ball in his bed. He could feel the power he had been master of infusing his bones as they snapped and shifted - changing as a supernatural force he had only read about began to take over. The spilled blood was taken as an offering and accepted by the Gods from the dark crafter giving him the ability of skinwalking.
Fleeing the city and his family - leaving them to grieve their daughter - Grifyn ran from the city and as far as he could from his family and the life he was living. The path he was on led him to Mysteria. A town much like himself - a mystery.
Flaws:
Migraines have always been a problem for Grifyn, especially after a hard night of shifting. They strike suddenly and unexpectantly but thankfully over time they have grown further and father apart. When they strike light and loud noise is his arch nemisis making the migraines even worse. He often spends these times locked away in a dark and quiet room.
Knowing when to stop hasn't always been easy for Grifyn. When he gets his hands onto or into something he can't stop until he has finished what he is doing or until he figures it out. He becomes obsessed with whatever task it is - whether it is following a suspected prey for hours or days on end or simply researching a spell. It consumes him, always nagging at the back of his mind like annoying little voice. It doesn't stop until he gets to the bottom of it - until the mystery is figured out or the person is... dealt with. Then he can find peace.
Though he is very smart Grifyn thinks too much of himself. He thinks because of what he is that he can get away with things - he got away with murder a few times and hasn't been caught. People have paid, people have been punished. He knows he's good-looking and attractive, he knows that no one suspects and more often then not it goes to his head. He doesn't think he could get caught, he doesn't think he can be traced. He's just that good.
Grifyn can not hide entirely what he is. When the light hits his eyes a certain way they glow like that of an animal when headlights are on them - there is a white reflective sheen to their surface giving away the fact that he is something other than human.
Merits:
One look and he remembers. It took a lot of honing and studying but quickly it came naturally to him. A persons face, a room, a scenario - all he has to do is be there for it to remember it later. It comes in handy for when he is ready to attack, or for when he is planning things out. He doesn't like to be surprised and being able to remember every detail helps him figure people out and assess them without ever really having to get fully involved in their lives.
Because of his ability to remember things Grifyn is a fast learner. He's always picked up on things well which was one of the reasons he got so picked on in school. However, it was the reason he picked up his knowledge in witchcraft. Give him a few times or for the more serious tasks a day of working at it and Grifyn can learn it. His obsession won't let him get away without learning it. It has always worked in his advantage picking things up - freeing up his day for much more interesting things.
His concentration levels are astounding. When he wants to focus on something he can. No matter what is going on around him Grifyn has no problems tuning it all out and focusing on his task at hand whether it be a book or maping out someone's house. Once interuppted he has no problems getting back to where he was earlier either
