Appearance:Façade appearance - Sid stands at 5'9", with fine facial features, grey eyes, and wavy, light-brown hair just long enough to reach the middle of her back. She is on the somewhat gawky side, as if she never grew out of her awkward growing stage and retains the tom-boyishness of her childhood. When she's not in dirt-caked work clothes from digs, she is usually seen in comfortable, plain clothes for hours in the library: sweatshirts, old T-shirts, jeans, trainers, and rarely any jewellery. She will dress up occasionally, but only in certain circumstances, and while she has an appreciation for vintage clothing from a historical perspective, she never sees a need to wear such clothing.
Sid is slightly nearsighted, wearing contacts on excursions but opting for glasses (oval, wire-rimmed) when spending a day engrossed in books.
Morpheus appearance - Sid grows even taller -- to about 7' -- and becomes willowy, with limbs that look as if they could snap at the slightest pressure and wrapped in black, thorny vines, and her hands become large claws with elongated nails. Her hair turns stark white, and her face becomes a "porcelain doll mask" set with glassy, artificial-looking grey-blue eyes that seem to glow. Her dress is a floor-length, black sleeveless dress with a high collar of white "fur" and opera-length gloves. Her overall appearance is like that of a nightmarish doll.
Personality: Sid is upbeat and friendly, but underneath her elfin exterior lies a sarcastic soul. Most of the time, she keeps her acerbic wit to herself unless properly indignant, which happens only when she is under a great deal of stress. Typically, she'll simply smile and be as neutral as she is able. She has a rather quirky, dry sense of humour that sometimes takes getting used to. At times, she seems as if she is incapable of taking anything seriously.
Beneath it all, Sid is actually rather shy -- her sense of humour has been her coping mechanism for dealing with the trials in her life and her general unease around people. However, those who get to know her quickly learn that she can be easily depended upon in a tight spot and maintains a cool head through a good many crises. Even when she is upset, she refuses to use profanity -- the strongest word she will speak is "damn" -- feeling that "Why curse when a witty remark will do?"
Sid is something of a sceptic, believing there is a rational explanation for everything, a world-view that was rarely tested while attending a competitive school in a large city. She is somewhat conflicted about whether she prefers life in a big city of a rural town: while she hates crowds, she very much enjoys the opportunities of a more urban setting. (She especially likes spicy food and bitter tastes; she's not crazy about sweets) She has something of a complex regarding her height, standing taller than many of the boys she knows. Both her height and her studies have made it easy for her to eschew dating, which she has no interest in either way.
Special abilities/talents: Sid possesses an aptitude for learning languages and is able to speak conversational French and Spanish, as well as read Greek and Latin. (She is in the process of learning Dakota, but does not speak it fluently yet) Surprisingly, she can also dance fairly well -- a holdover from the ballet and ballroom lessons her grandmother insisted she take. While she eventually gave up ballet, she kept up with ballroom and even learned basic Latin dance while at university.

History: As far as she knew, Sid was born in Anaheim, California, but moved to Mysteria when she was 4 to live with Abigail Wilder -- mother of her adoptive father -- after her adoptive parents were killed in a car accident. Something of an eccentric, "Grandma Abby" brought Sid up in an old Victorian house on the outskirts of town amidst a cacophony of books, antiques, and various artefacts. A retired archaeologist, it was she who inspired Sid's love of history and eventual following in her footsteps.
Sid lived as typical a rural town life as a girl could while being buried in antiquities and attracting a spirit that didn't seem to want to leave her alone. She was an exceptional student, however, and at 17, she left Mysteria to attend UCLA on a scholarship. However, within the first year of her graduate studies, was forced to return home for Abigail Wilder's funeral. As the sole living relative, she was left the whole of the estate, including the house. Fortunately for her studies, there were ongoing digs out in the surrounding countryside, with permission granted by the Spirit Lake Sioux Tribal Council. It was simple enough to be granted independent study in the area.
It was the death of her guardian that triggered the Becoming, the overwhelming sense of loneliness and stress of a dramatically-changing life finally pushing her over the edge. Sid was understandably horrified by her nightmarish Morpheus form and has not assumed it since. For all intents and purposes, she has mentally blocked out the experience and thrown herself into her studies. Sid has yet to find out what she truly is and what her abilities are.
Flaws:Curiosity - Sid has never been able to resist the chance to learn something new, even if (and sometimes especially) if it's dangerous.
Overconfident - Sid is just a little too sure of herself when it comes to her area of expertise. Don't tell her how she's wrong. She'll tell you how she's not.
Phobia (Dolls) - When she was a child, Sid thought one of the dolls her grandmother owned 'spoke' to her, and it is a fear she has never outgrown. The only reason she hasn't sold or stored them is out of what she considers an unreasonable fear of their vengeance.
Haunted - What she didn't know was that one of the dolls housed a spirit that took a liking to her. Over the years (and disbelief of everyone else) she learned to attribute the spirit's attempts to get her attention to "rational explanations". Needless to say, the spirit is quite happy now that she's returned home, and maybe now she'll start paying some attention to it and not simply dismissing it as "the wind".
Merits:Concentration - Sid is a disciplined thinker, acclimated to studying. However, it can be a problem when she becomes so absorbed in her work that she might go days without remembering to eat or sleep.
Fast Learner - Sid is good at her calling, and has needed to be able to learn things quickly in order to be of use in her chosen profession.
Dependable - A salt-of-the-earth type, Sid is dependable almost to the point of predictability.
Perfect Balance - She may look gawky, but a childhood spent by climbing trees in a skirt (and in mandatory ballet lessons) will, if nothing else, teach a girl how to keep her balance.
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual, but somewhat married to her career
