Appearance: Delos is rather cute, he stands at 5’7 is very lightly toned and has quite a bit of a baby face. His eyes are hazel and his hair is a very dark brown, very nearly almost black – and unless you look closely it probably would be called black. It is about shoulder length and quite shaggy with beads and feathers and blue thread in it or twisted around it.
He usually wears natural clothes made from either animal hide or plant material, some you wouldn’t even realise they were as he is quite the expert.
Personality: Calm, collected, eloquent, very nice and rather innocent is all very good words to describe Delos; unless you are a pretty girl then he’s a giggling, gibbering useless mess. He care about people and the world and he wants to be able to show the magic users how to use new things properly and then let them continue learning. He liked to watch people grow and change and know he’s helped them, and he will help anyone, because he is stupidly nice and naive like that.
Special abilities/talents: Hunting – with various weapons, he has rather dextrous fingers with just makes his craft projects and doing anything he needs for the shop or personal use very easy.
History: Delos is the chieftains’ son of a small tribe of Indians that still live as they always have, though their territory is a lot smaller now. His name then was Desly-Viho and he was a very bright boy. His education started early and he was taught the ways of the tribe, the basics of how to use his shaman magic and how to use the environment and everything it in with it. As he got older and it became clear that the boy had quite a talent for the magic he was taught by the shaman of the tribe, everything the man knew was passed down to him. As well as this he learnt to hunt, make tools and weapons, sew and lots of other things. Everything he learnt would not hurt the environment if done properly, he also learnt how to help protect it from others, and how it all related to his magic.
Because of his connection to the spirit world, even as a boy Desly-Viho had no problem with spirits and seeing the world differently to others. It was all he’d ever known, and as his powers grew it was just light turning on a light, everything became brighter and more focused. His spirit guide was usually there to talk him through it as well, which was a great help. Well the tribes shaman couldn’t do everything, some things were just better coming from the dead. The only problem Desly-Viho has ever had with his connection was when learning to hunt. The first time he saw a creature die, as it drew it’s last breath and it’s spirit was released, it’s an experience he will never forget. Of course he does understand that the creature gave its life so he and the tribe could live and none of it would be wasted and that a prayer would be said for it. It still bothered him. For a few years actually, but he eventually accepted that death and the leaving of the spirit was just a part of life and a new the start of a new path. It did take a lot of work from the Shaman and his spirit guide though. Even today it pains him a little when it happens.
When he was eighteen his father and mother asked him would he like to stay with the tribe or travel to world and put his skills to use there. He chose the latter. Soon with just a backpack he left and travelled around quite a bit. He quickly learned that most folks didn’t believe in magic and even if he showed them they thought it was a trick. Those that did believe him –unless they were supernatural of course – thought it was voodoo magic, but no everything his does is with good intent.
On his travels he earned a little money and learnt lots of new things, some very rare things. Along the way he started calling himself by a different name, Delos Vir. These people he was meeting were not part of his tribe so they shouldn’t call him by the name they gave him. Also he was no more a part of it either, so he shouldn’t use it, it was a personal gift given to him by his parents. Though he does wear a pendant with his name carved into it, his mother gave him it so he didn’t forget who he was or where he came from. And there it will stay, close to his heart.
About a year a go he found himself in Mysteria, he could almost taste the magic in the air. He knew there was a lot of supernatural being here. This seemed a good place to set up shop, literally. With the money he had he bought a small one bedroom apartment then set to work doing anything people would pay him to do. On occasion he even did a little counselling – which he still does by the way. Eventually he had enough to buy a small old shop and has been busy refurbishing and cleaning and getting stocked up. One day soon it will open, and he just hoped it does well – not too well he will have to lay waste to the earth to keep it going, but enough to pay anyone he hires and give a small profit. He seems quite content here.
Flaws:
Soft-hearted – Delos is the type of person who is everyone’s friend and will help out absolutely anyone with anything. He doesn’t know how to say no, it wouldn’t even enter his mind.
Speech Impediment – Not exactly a speech impediment, girls. Delos, can not talk to pretty girls. He will stutter and giggle and get completely tongue tied.
Low Self-image – He doesn’t even think he deserves what he has currently achieved. He doesn’t think he’s attractive and doesn’t think he has done anything to deserve happiness. You wont find him complainging about it though, it’s something he deals with quietly, as it eats at him.
Nightmares – Delos often has nightmares, and because of it is often tired. He’s even taking to working all night to give him something to do and just sleeping when he can grab and hour here and there.
Merits:
Self-Confidant – Delos certainly knows what he can and can’t do. Though he doesn’t think he deserves it, he knows his own body and mind and their limits.
Eidetic Memory – Delos remember everything, yes everything. Its why he learns new things so quickly and can tell you exactly what you were doing on Tuesday a year and a half ago a 2.41pm… so long as he looked at his watch of course.
Common Sense – Delos thinks everything through before acting, weighing the possibilities. It’s quite lucky that he thinks so fast, other wise this could be a problem. But yes logic does tend to rule his mind and how he does things.
