JUMP! Important info herein. Read or perish.

Well.

Now you're on a ship. Happy?

Just like the intro post says, you've all got your own rooms now. All the stuff that your characters started with and everything that they've obtained on each planet is in that room. Yes, even your cars. Your motorcycles. Your TARDISsesses. But not your ship, Sympathy. Even aliens have their limits.

Even your weapons are there! Hooray weapons!

Here's the catch:
While you can set up target practice within your rooms, once you've crossed the threshold of your doors, your weapons are just paperweights. They'll work again if you go back inside, or if you go into somebody else's room, but they won't work in the common area. This goes for any of your gadgets as well. Do whatever you like behind those closed doors. Anything that might be a threat or cause harm to anybody else, or be used against the aliens is rendered useless. If you have things like MP3 players and cell phones, they'll work (just no phone calls, you won't get a signal) outside of your rooms. See the trend? Benign, harmless things can roam and function, anything else, nada.

And the aliens are walking around. There are several species. You should check the list. Because they're milling about the common area, like they own the place. Because... they do... own the place. You can feel free to have your characters see/hear/talk about the aliens. But if you want direct interaction, you're going to have to talk to a mod about it. In the future, once people have the alien personalities down (each alien type has a way it will act, you know that list? You should really read it) we'll let you NPC them. For now, though, leave that to us.

One important thing to remember about these guys? They aren't afraid of you. You aren't a threat to them. They know how to subdue you. They've already absconded with you from your home and taken you to several places. They know your strengths and weaknesses. They know what you love, and what you hate. You are pets. Any fear they exhibit is the kind of fear that one has when going through a funhouse or a spooky manor in a carnival. It's fun to jump at shadows, but at the end of the day, there's no real danger there.

That's not to say you can't try to get more answers, of course.

You can come and go as you please, but you only have access to the two floors - living and social. There are no doors that you can see to take you anywhere else. You will never be able to witness the other aliens if they leave those floors (and they will). You cannot hijack the elevator. There are no stairs. There is a window on the social level, made out of a transparent metal. You can see space out there. Sometimes planets. Lots of stars. Occasional debris. Maybe a lost cosmonaut.

The food provided through the Food Service Window (tm) can be anything that you want. The aliens have that technology. You can take your food back to your rooms to eat, or eat it in the nicely appointed sitting area, or at one of the tables near the Food Service Window (tm). Just don't get anything in the Serenity Pool. Who knows what will happen to those poor fish if you try to feed them things other than their Tasty Fish Pellets (tm).

AS ALWAYS - You may NOT start a new log on the past planet. You may finish the logs that you've started there. If you have plot that you wanted to do before the jump, you need to find a way to fit it to the new situation.

If you have questions, ask away!

PS - anything on the 1940s clone should be done by now, so it will be tagged accordingly.

AND - we'll likely stay a bit longer on the ship than we did on the islands. Just so's ya know.

New planet tidbits

Both islands are exactly the same. What one island has, the other will. Neither one has an advantage over the other in any way. Both caves are safe enough for vampires to stay in and be safe from the sun, and the phoenix to be away from the water. Both islands have animals that can be hunted, berries, fruits, things growing in the ground such as wild carrots, red potatoes, and onions. Each island will have rudimentary first aid kits within the caves somewhere, as well as a small stash of blood for the vampires. There is no reason for anybody to starve on either island.

You can go into the water until the drop off into the main ocean. That's about 12 yards or 36 feet. After that, there are all kinds of vicious flesh eating creatures that prevent swimming. You also cannot fly to the other island, or risk being swooped upon by giant birds who are always looking out for a tasty meal. You can attempt to build a raft, but be ready for it to not get you all the way there. Some of the creatures in the water might be big enough to knock you off your safe spot, or a rogue wave might appear. Or who knows, you might actually make it. (IE - Ask us first if you want to attempt to cross)

Your characters will be able to shout at each other across the mile that keeps them apart, and signals will be able to be seen and such, so there can be rudimentary communications. And of course, there's nothing to block telepathy happening from one island to the other.

Nobody has anything. Every character will start in a pair of rugged blue jeans and a white button up shirt. They will have boots and socks, and hats to protect them from the sun. But nothing else has come with them. No cars, no tools, no weapons. No jewelry, no trinkets. No gear of any kind. Nothing. Nada. No exceptions.

There are also no other people on the islands.

NEW PLANET! Info here.

You're all going to wake up (the last thing your characters will recall is the meeting) in the same diner, dressed up in 1940s style clothing. Your characters will not have access to their normal clothes while on this planet. They will have to create their wardrobes around what they can find (the sorts of things that would be available in the 1940s) No, we're not going to do a group thread for it. But you can feel free to note that you see the others in your posts. And you can, of course, do little group threads of your own.

This is a 1940's Earth Clone with the technology of the time. Your cell phones, MP3 players, digital watches, etc are not going to work here. If your character has a vehicle, however, it will still run. The weapons that your characters have will also remain functional. Keep in mind though, that these things will stand out quite a bit.

You will also have to find your own lodgings and your own way to pay for things. The aliens have not provided any of it this time. Also, the money your characters have in their pockets will not work. The currency of this planet looks pretty much the same as American money does, but instead of the faces of presidents, you will see the faces of golden age movie stars.

Penny- Ava Gardner
Nickel- Orson Welles
Dime- Grace Kelly
Quarter- Greta Garbo
Half dollar- Cary Grant
Dollar- Humphrey Bogart
Two dollar bill- Bela Lugosi
Five- Rex Harrison
Ten- Rita Hayworth
Twenty- Bette Davis
Fifty- Frank Sinatra
Hundred- John Wayne

And yes. Everything is actually in black and white. Everything.

If you need a sense of what the city would be like, just think of what the 1940s were like. The same cars are here, the same types of clothes. The same television shows, the same music. From 1940 to 1949, it's all fair game. It all exists here at the same time.

Remember, you may not backdate logs to the old planet. You MAY still reply to the meeting with the alien.

Missing from the initial jump: Methos, Harry Dresden, Evan Vang
Returning: Ranulf Ilyien, Eva Napier, Rayne Kenyon, Thiele Varchardt

New planet information!

New World!

As you may have noticed, there's a new world out there. But there are a couple of things that need to be noted that weren't placed in the in-game post. Also, a little reminder of the rules, since this is our first world jump.

Now that we are on a new planet, you may NOT backdate posts to the previous planet. If you had plot going, you will need to figure out how to tailor it to their new environment. This is not in any way a bendable rule. (Do feel free to finish up the logs that you've still got going, though)

For this new planet, your characters are going to be paired up with strangers. Yep. You have no choice in this. They will wake up in a cute little house - decorated any way you would like it to be - on a cute little street. Everybody will be on the same street, so it won't be a huge thing for characters to find one another. But the first log you do on this new world has to be with their new housemate. Everything was done at random, so there are some pretty interesting matchups.

You can have your characters wake up anywhere in the house that you like. Their own room, the living room, standing in the shower, whatever. Doesn't matter. And once the housemate log is done, you can do anything else with your characters that you like.

Your characters will have no recollection of the move, they will have been sedated through the entire thing. After they go to sleep, they will wake up in the new place. Any cell phones or electronic devices that they have will work within the bounds of this world. They can talk to one another, to new people, etc, but whatever contacts they had before will not be available to them. Not by any means. If they try to email friends, it will just bounce back. Phonecalls will result in disconnected number messeges.

The town that they will wake up in is called Caldbury. The street that their houses are on is Belmeadow Avenue. You may make up the rest of the details of everything else (the planet is not actually named Planet Easterween, we'll come up with one if you guys think it's necessary).

Quick note: the people of this world do not have the dual pupils of the people of the last world. That was world specific.

So here are the pairings!

Harry Dresden + Methos
Ninth Doctor + Cavan
Bo + Johnny
Dean + Sympathy
Jo + Elizabeth
Max + Piotr
Niklas + Sabev
Eleni + Kai
Isaac + Eva
Mary + Evan
Simon + Phaedra
Jack + Mikey

Electric City - IMPORTANT

Any new logs that you start MUST be started with your character IN Electric City. If you did not get to make a getting-them-to-EC post, then you are free to do a flashback of it in the opening for your new log. You may not begin a new log for the travel. You may not begin a new log outside of Electric City. Information on Electric City can be found here.

YOU MAY NOT BACKDATE ANYTHING TO BE OUTSIDE OF ELECTRIC CITY.

And here's where we reveal what has been bothering your characters about the people living in this world.

Everything about them is human on the outside. They move, speak, and act just like the humans you're used to on the Earth that is familiar to you. The difference is that every alien on this planet is nearsighted. When they are looking at things that are close to them, reading, talking to people nearby, everything is normal. But if they have to focus on something further than five feet away from themselves, the change comes.

The aliens will blink, and their eyes will change in a subtle way. Where there was once only one pupil, now there are two. The aliens use the second pupil to help them focus on the things in the distance, much like glasses would do for regular humans, only they've managed to evolve a solution.

Electric City description

Just some information for those characters headed to Electric City, there is a great description here.

Let us know if you have any other questions about the setting or if you need to brainstorm ideas to get your character to Electric City. Once everyone's in the city, then we'll let you know what your characters would notice that's different about the people in this world.
