JUMP! Important info herein. Read or perish.
Well.
Now you're on a ship. Happy?
Just like the intro post says, you've all got your own rooms now. All the stuff that your characters started with and everything that they've obtained on each planet is in that room. Yes, even your cars. Your motorcycles. Your TARDISsesses. But not your ship, Sympathy. Even aliens have their limits.
Even your weapons are there! Hooray weapons!
Here's the catch:
While you can set up target practice within your rooms, once you've crossed the threshold of your doors, your weapons are just paperweights. They'll work again if you go back inside, or if you go into somebody else's room, but they won't work in the common area. This goes for any of your gadgets as well. Do whatever you like behind those closed doors. Anything that might be a threat or cause harm to anybody else, or be used against the aliens is rendered useless. If you have things like MP3 players and cell phones, they'll work (just no phone calls, you won't get a signal) outside of your rooms. See the trend? Benign, harmless things can roam and function, anything else, nada.
And the aliens are walking around. There are several species. You should check the list. Because they're milling about the common area, like they own the place. Because... they do... own the place. You can feel free to have your characters see/hear/talk about the aliens. But if you want direct interaction, you're going to have to talk to a mod about it. In the future, once people have the alien personalities down (each alien type has a way it will act, you know that list? You should really read it) we'll let you NPC them. For now, though, leave that to us.
One important thing to remember about these guys? They aren't afraid of you. You aren't a threat to them. They know how to subdue you. They've already absconded with you from your home and taken you to several places. They know your strengths and weaknesses. They know what you love, and what you hate. You are pets. Any fear they exhibit is the kind of fear that one has when going through a funhouse or a spooky manor in a carnival. It's fun to jump at shadows, but at the end of the day, there's no real danger there.
That's not to say you can't try to get more answers, of course.
You can come and go as you please, but you only have access to the two floors - living and social. There are no doors that you can see to take you anywhere else. You will never be able to witness the other aliens if they leave those floors (and they will). You cannot hijack the elevator. There are no stairs. There is a window on the social level, made out of a transparent metal. You can see space out there. Sometimes planets. Lots of stars. Occasional debris. Maybe a lost cosmonaut.
The food provided through the Food Service Window (tm) can be anything that you want. The aliens have that technology. You can take your food back to your rooms to eat, or eat it in the nicely appointed sitting area, or at one of the tables near the Food Service Window (tm). Just don't get anything in the Serenity Pool. Who knows what will happen to those poor fish if you try to feed them things other than their Tasty Fish Pellets (tm).
AS ALWAYS - You may NOT start a new log on the past planet. You may finish the logs that you've started there. If you have plot that you wanted to do before the jump, you need to find a way to fit it to the new situation.
If you have questions, ask away!
PS - anything on the 1940s clone should be done by now, so it will be tagged accordingly.
AND - we'll likely stay a bit longer on the ship than we did on the islands. Just so's ya know.
