Who: Izzy and Scott.
What: Keeping the sick girl company!
When: Feb 22. Around 8pm.
Where: Izzy and Hannah's apartment.

Izzy knew that she wouldn't be the best of company, what with her having to constantly clear her scratchy throat and cough every now and again, but she was excited none-the-less to be spending time with Scott. After posting her last comment to the journals, the blonde went about tidying up her room, mainly clearing glasses and the like, before hopping into a warm shower. Hutch said the steam would help her sinuses, and she had a little while before Scott was due to show up, so she enjoyed the almost scalding hot water pelting down on her bare skin for as long as she possibly could while metaphorically washing the sickness away. At least she could think she was.

Hopping out a bit later, the Brit went about blow drying her hair and tying it up into a slightly messy bun. It was obvious that Izzy wasn't going to look her best that night as she tugged on a set of Hello Kitty! pajamas, but she was going to try to at least not look like a total mess. Checking her reflection in the mirror above the sink, she made a face at herself before exiting the bathroom, her dirty laundry wadded up underneath one arm. She tossed the items into her hamper once she reentered her room and flopped back onto her sloppily made bed. Hm. Maybe she should fix that. Getting up with a small grunt, she went about fixing the sheets and pillows on her bed, only stopping when she was satisfied with its appearance. Despite how much she wanted to lay back down, Izzy didn't want to muck up the job she'd just done, so she decided to move out into the living room for the time being and vegetate on the couch until her company for the evening arrived.

She had made herself at home on the couch, lounging about with a bowl of popcorn and a cup of hot tea, watching the beginning of The Fairly Oddparents when she heard a knock at the door. Setting her popcorn and tea on the floor, she stood up and made her way to the door, her hands busily pulling the hem of her camisole down to meet the waist of her pants. Taking a breath and then letting out a small cough, she composed herself before pulling the door open, smiling all the same. "Hi Scott." Looking away for a quick moment, she brought her fist up to her mouth and cleared her throat and then looked back at him. "Come in," she offered with a flourish of her arm, stepping out of the way enough that he could enter their apartment.

[OOC: I hope you don't mind! It was just too cute not to scene out!]

After hearing about Izzy not feeling well, Scott did everything he could to get the evening off from the casino. He didn't succeed in being completely off, but he was just on-call. Meaning he'd have to have his phone on him, and if someone called and he was needed, he'd have to go back to the casino. Figuring it was better than having to be there, Scott made his way back to his room and took a quick shower, pulling on a pair of black tear-away pants and a white wifebeater. He hung around in his room until it was time to meet Izzy at hers, and then made his way down the hall to the room number she had given him.

Knocking a few times, he crossed his arms across his chest and rocked back and forth on his heels while he waited for Izzy to answer. His cell phone was hooked to the waistband of his pants, just incase. Hearing the cough on the inside of the door, Scott frowned. His frown turned into a smile as he saw Izzy when she opened the door, watching as she looked away and coughed. "Yuck, you really don't sound good. You should go over to the Infirmary if your cough isn't any better tomorrow, or if you don't feel any better then," he suggested, entering her room and turning to face her. "I mean, the worst they can do is tell you that there's nothing they can do to help. Maybe they can give you something for your cough," he added, shrugging.

Using the door as a prop, Izzy leaned her head against it momentarily, a lazy smile lolling across her lips. "Yeah, I know," she croaked, the right side of her face screwing up for a second. Normally Izzy loved her voice and oh-so-adorable accent. But right now, her voice was about an octave lower and that sweet accent was no where to be found. Well, it was there. Just not as cute as it normally was. Reaching her free hand up as she shut the door behind him, she rubbed the front of her throat. "Hutch told me if I felt bad enough to give one of them a ring, so we'll see." The blonde wasn't all that worried...she sounded better than she had that morning, at least she thought so. And her head wasn't as congested as it had been. No matter! For the time being, she wasn't going to worry about it. Instead she was going to enjoy the evening with Scott.

Stepping away from the door, Izzy gestured to the couch before patting the back of it, figuring they'd watch Robot Chicken out there rather than in her room...despite having made her bed up earlier. "Can I get you something to drink?" she asked, turning around to face him while cautiously backing into her room. "We've got...orange juice, soda, milk...and water. I think?" She scratched the side of her face and shook her head slightly as she stepped into her room, spinning around on her heels to move to her laptop. Season 1 disk 1 was still lodged in her CD-rom.

"There's popcorn if you're hungry!" She called from her room, spinning the one disk on her finger as she snatched the other two cases from her bedside table. "Or I can get you something else." Reentering the living room, she smiled at Scott and tossed the two cases onto the couch.

Scott felt bad, hearing Izzy's voice all scratchy and seeing her so obviously uncomfortable and sick. He couldn't help but smile, though, as that smile crossed her face. She had an infectious smile, it was adorable. He nodded as she mentioned that the doctors were aware of her illness. "Well, that's good. Here's to hoping that all clears up soon," he nodded. He, himself, hated being sick. It made him somewhat of a baby. All he did was whine, and it was absolutely unfun. Especially for whoever was going to be taking care of him while he was sick. "Just make sure to actually call them if you think you need to," he added, giving her a smile.

Moving to plop down on the couch, he glanced back at her as she announced stuff that there was to drink. He stood back up and headed over to the kitchen. "Why don't you just take a seat and relax, Iz? I'll grab something to drink. What do you want?" he asked, opening the fridge and glancing inside for something that struck his fancy. He grabbed a can of soda for himself, opening it and pouring it into a glass with some ice. He got whatever it was that she wanted to drink together as well before carrying both glasses to the couch and setting them on the table in front of the television.

"Popcorn's just fine," he said, grabbing the bowl and placing it on his lap, popping a few kernals into his mouth. "Don't think of me as a guest, okay? You don't have to entertain or whatever. I'm just a guy spending some time with his sick friend," he smiled at her. "You need to relax if you want to get better," he added.

"I'm sure it will," she nodded as she rubbed her fingers across the tip of her nose. "I just let myself get run down is all." Momentarily she frowned and then shrugged. She choked it up to jumping head first into work and getting to know her peers for the last week and a half, rather than getting her priorities straight and scheduling an ample amount of resting time into her routine. "Yes dad," she snickered, her nose wrinkling up just a little. "I'd have two extremely hacked off brothers if I let myself get extremely sick. And I don't want that." Izzy shook her head. She hated being ill as much as the next person did, and the last thing she wanted was someone to take care of her. She was a big girl -- she could manage!

Brows perked a little as he got up from the couch and moved into the kitchen. "Well alright then...just a bit of orange juice, please and thank you." Moving to the television, Izzy squatted in front of it and got the DVD situated in the player. Snatching the remote from the shelving next to it, she backed up to the couch and curled up on it, sitting on her folded knees with her cheek pressed to the back of it. Wandering eyes watched Scott as he moved about the kitchen and continued to watch him as he moved back into the living room.

She turned her attention back to the front when he sat their glasses down and she reached for hers to take a quick sip. Nothing like cold orange juice to make a scratchy throat feel a bit better. Squirming about until she was comfortable sitting Indian-Style, Izzy reached over to grab a handful of popcorn for herself. "If you say so," she grinned over at him before popping a piece into her mouth. She wished she felt up to cooking -- or at least baking, she still owed Scott some peanut butter cookies -- but that would have to wait for another day.

Izzy leaned her head against his shoulder for the faintest of moments and smiled. "Thanks for coming to keep me company." She felt insanely comfortable with Scott. And truth be told, outside of her brothers and Hannah, Izzy had probably spent the most of her time with him. Straightening back up, Izzy grabbed the remote and turned the television over to the DVD player and then hit 'play'. Izzy knew the seasons backwards and forwards, sadly enough. "Anything new happening with you?"

Nodding as she explained that she just let herself get run down, he smiled. "Just be careful not to do it again," he said, pointing at her. He felt a small pang in his chest as she called him 'dad', even though it was just teasingly. He couldn't help it, anytime he heard the word he thought about the fact that he was almost a dad. But that possibility had been taken away from him without his consent. It still upset him a lot, whenever he thought about it. Which was why he tried to think about it as little as possible. Clearing his throat and shaking those thoughts out of his head, he turned to focus on Izzy. After all, he was there to spend time and have fun with her, right? No need for him to get all upset.

After getting her some orange juice, her rejoined her on the couch, reaching for his glass of soda and taking a quick sip before he placed it back on the table. He popped a few more kernals of popcorn into his mouth, chewing and swallowing before he turned to her. "I do say so," he nodded, smiling at her.

Just then, she laid her head against his shoulder and he swallowed, turning to look at her as she thanked him for coming to keep her company. "Oh, no problem. It's my pleasure," he said, giving her a smile. "After all, you've got Robot Chicken," he gestured to the television. Robot Chicken was awesome, of course, but it wasn't the real reason he had come to hang out with her. He liked spending time with Izzy. She was funny, she was fun to hang out with. She was absolutely adorable, he couldn't deny that.

Glancing back at her as she asked him if anything was new with him, Scott shook his head. "No, not really. Just working a lot," he nodded. "The casino's annoyingly clingy," he laughed, shaking his head. "They wouldn't even really let me have the night off tonight. I'm on-call. So if my phone rings, and it's the casino, I've got to hi-tail it out of here," he rolled his eyes. Glancing over at her, he smiled.

"I won't," she insisted with a small laugh. Izzy wasn't going to make any promises because she knew that that was simply one promise she couldn't keep. It wasn't that she wanted to run herself down again, she just knew she would. It was just something that happened. Over and over again. She quirked her head a bit as he cleared his throat, her eyes crinkling just slightly as she narrowed them curiously. He looked almost uncomfortable for a moment, like she'd said something terribly wrong, but Izzy honestly didn't know what it was she'd said. Instead, she brushed the look off. After all, it disappeared just about as soon as it had appeared. "Don't you be getting sick, too," she warned, pointing her finger back at him, "two sick people don't make one healthy person." She cracked a small grin and dropped her hand to her side, fingers immediately moving to fumble with the drawstring on her pants.

Izzy shook her head and let out another laugh. "You're just using me to get at my fantastic source of DVDs, don't lie." To let him know she was just teasing, she gave his shoulder the softest shove imaginable. Was it bad that she got somewhat touchy-feel-y once she felt comfortable around a person? At least she hoped that it didn't bother Scott. If it did, she'd stop, but until then..

Resting her head on the back of the couch, she rolled her eyes over to look at him, her eyebrows knitting together. "Now don't go working yourself to sickness like I have." Making a small face, Izzy stuck her tongue out. "You'd think with so many people working there you could get a night off. I mean, c'mon! You're spending time with your sickly friend," she snickered, reaching for more popcorn, "I think that could merit a night off." Stuffing what could be considered a handful of popcorn into her mouth, she held her hand over her mouth as she chewed, nodding a little as she swallowed and grinned crookedly. "I think if I didn't have some kind of sickness, the kitchen would put me on call." She adored Friday and all, but now that Friday was around, Izzy seemed more...busy; more in charge of the other bakers in the kitchen, anyways. Not that she minded the responsibility all that much.

Nodding, he gave her a smile. "Good," he said, returning his gaze to the television screen. He glanced over at her as she spoke again, smiling. "No, I'm not getting sick. Not that I know of, at least. But me sick ... that's definitely a sight. I revert back to being five years old and just whine continuously," he laughed, shaking his head. "I think it's a man thing. Men get whiny when they're sick," he shrugged. He knew all his friends were the same way.

"Of course I am!" he said, glancing over at her. His smile gave him away, though, and he was pretty sure she knew he was joking. He laughed as she shoved his shoulder, and he shoved hers right back. Gently, of course. He didn't mind her being touchy-feely at all, so it was all good.

Shaking his head, he smiled over at her. "No, I won't be working myself that hard. It's true, that place has tons of employees, but with me being so high up in the chain of command, they need me there all the freakin' time. I don't understand it," he shook his head, then shrugged. "Oh well. At least I do get to spend time with my sickly friend," he said, reaching his arm over and sliding it around her shoulders, giving her a squeeze and then pulling her closer so she could rest her head on his shoulder again. He did that without even thinking, but he didn't mind.

Izzy nodded. "Well I hope I don't get you sick, then. I'd feel so terribly guilty." She would. And then she'd probably bake him dozens of cookies and cakes to make up for it. She laughed when he said he reverted back to a five year old. "It must be a man thing...my brothers are the same way." Least they had been growing up. Thankfully she hadn't seen either one of them sick in quite some time; Izzy always had been kind of the sickly child when it came to the Grants, though. "If you get sick, I'll come and keep you company. Least I can do," she nodded, smiling, as she leaned forward to grab her juice and take another sip. Whiney or not, Izzy would be there. She liked spending time with Scott.

"I knew it!" She feigned shock, over dramatizing the look with a hand to her forehead. She cracked a smile when she saw his and a fit of giggles over took her for a moment as he gave her that light push. Izzy went with it and slipped a little to the side, still giggling as her elbow caught her before she was completely on her side. "I could make you a copy if you wanted...?" Or he could just continue to come over and watch them with her. Either worked, though Izzy did prefer the latter. Not that she'd voice that just yet, though.

"Oh yeah...what was it? The very good looking assistant casino manager?" She teased, "It's because all the bloody tartlets that gamble just want to see Hot Stuff walking the floor." Izzy let out another giggle, a soft flush rushing across her cheeks."I'm glad for that," she commented, completely serious with a nod. Blue eyes glanced down at his fingers as they circled around her bare shoulder, her head turning to look up at him. She smiled and stretched her legs out so that her toes lightly rested against the edge of the coffee table, her head nestling against his shoulder. This time she wasn't so quick to move it and she actually let herself get comfortable there in his grip.

Scott shook his head, smiling. "No way. If I get sick, then it's my own damn fault. I'm the one that came over here in the first place," he pointed out, shrugging. "So, no feeling guilty is allowed. Got it?" he asked, raising a brow at her. He nodded when she told him that she'd come keep him company if he got sick. "Okay, but I'm warning you. I'm a whiner when I'm sick. I whine a lot. If you don't believe me, ask my sister," he laughed.

Shaking his head at her offered copy of Robot Chicken, he smiled. "No thanks. I'll just come over and bug you whenever I want to watch it," he said, smiling. "Besides, I never have time when I'm alone to watch dvds. I'm always in the casino or out on the beach or something. So I'll need a reason to watch them, and you're a pretty good reason," he smiled.

He nodded. "Oh yeah, that's right. The very good looking assistant casino manager. He's pretty awesome, I won't lie," he laughed, glancing over at her. He laughed out loud again as she made mention of people just wanting to see him. "Oh, I'm sure that's exactly what it is. Seeing as how, when the women are drunk, they all throw themselves at me," he laughed, shaking his head. When she got comfortable, he smiled, getting comfortable himself and popping a few more kernals of popcorn into his mouth.

She scrunched her nose up and stuck her tongue out quickly. "Yeah, but you didn't have to come over," she murmured, "but I'm not complaining," Izzy added with a large shake of her head. Don't get her wrong; she'd had fun when Max came over to keep her company. Loads of fun. But Max-company and Scott-company were two different things. Izzy wasn't remotely attracted to her brother. That would not only be horribly wrong, but gross as well. Ew. Scott, on the other hand, she was attracted to. Who wouldn't be? Softly clearing her throat, she cleared all of her jumbled thoughts, and let out a small laugh afterwards. "I can deal with whiners. Swear. But thank you for the warning; that's very sweet of you." Had she not been sick, she might've leaned over and kissed his cheek. Maybe.

"I need to go out to the beach. Figures the weather lightens up some and I hole myself up in my room." Shaking her head, she took another sip of her orange juice. "But whenever I'm home, you're more than welcome to come and bug me," she teased with a small wink. Teasing aside, he was welcome in her apartment whenever, no invitation necessary!

"If I was drunk, I'd make a pass at the ace bloke dressed in the suit." Hell - Izzy had wanted to get her hands on him at that stupid Valentine's Day party, but hadn't been able to! Laughing a little, she reached over and pulled at the stomach of his wife beater. "I'd watch out if you get called in tonight...this clothing doesn't offer much protection from wandering hands." To emphasize her point, she tickled her fingers across his stomach for a brief moment before dropping her hand to rest there. "Maybe they think you're a good luck charm." Nicholas had said he was, but she had yet to visit him at the casino to see for herself. "Or maybe they just want to get lucky," she offered seriously, not looking up at him in fear of breaking out into a fit of laughter.

Scott shrugged. "No, I didn't have to. But I wanted to," he said, turning to look at her and giving her a wide smile. He couldn't help but notice how adorably cute she looked when she smiled like that, and he ran his hand through his hair, returning his attention to the television. After popping a few more kernals of popcorn into his mouth, he laughed at her comment about being able to handle whiners. "Well, good. Because I'm one of the top whiners. My mom used to hate it when I got sick, because she'd get sick and tired of hearing me whine," he pointed out, turning to look at her again. "What can I say? I'm a sweet guy," he smiled, shrugging his shoulders some as he spoke.

Smiling as she talked about being holed up in her room, he nodded. "Yeah, figures. You finally send all that nasty weather packing, and then you get sick. Maybe you're sick because you over exerted yourself kicking the weather's ass," he pointed out, giving her a big smile. "But, as soon as you get better, I'm gonna get you on a surfboard with me," he said, nodding. He'd take over Rachel's offer to teach her how to surf. Smirking at her offer, he rose a brow. "You might not wanna say that much. You'll get sick of me after awhile," he pointed out, lifting his legs and resting them on the table in front of him.

He snickered. "I'm sure you would," he nodded. Scott had planned on getting his hands on her at that Valentine's Day party, but things just hadn't worked out that well for either of them. Which just meant he'd have to try and get his hands on her some other time. Glancing down at his shirt as she pulled at the cloth, he snickered. "If I get called in, I'll pull a jacket on over this or something," he said. Snickering, he swatted her hand away, playfully, as she started tickling his stomach. "Not allowed," he pointed at her, raising a brow. When she rested her hand on his stomach, he didn't move her hand away. It was comfortable there, he liked it. "I think it's really a bit of both, actually," he smirked, then shrugged. "But them wanting to get lucky doesn't mean that they will," he pointed out, his hand that was around her shoulders moving down to slowly run over her back.

Izzy had turned her attention back to the television, snickering a little when Optimus Prime popped onto the screen to announce that men should have regular prostate exams. She noted out of her peripheral vision that he had turned to her and Izzy gave him her undivided attention. The way he ran his hand through his hair and his wide smile was endearing. Definitely cute. Stealing more popcorn, she perked a brow at his laugh as she chewed. "Oh yeah?" She hid her mouth behind her hand until she swallowed, "got any trophies to prove that you're a top whiner?" she joked, sticking her tongue out between her teeth. Shifting her head a little against his shoulder, Izzy nodded. "You make a comfortable pillow, too."

Another small snicker left her at his reasoning for her getting sick. "Yeah, well. I showed that rain who was boss," she stated matter-of-factly with a nod, her face breaking out into a smile of accomplishment. No, she hadn't actually sent the rain anywhere, but it was funny to imagine she had. She pulled away slightly when he mentioned getting her up on a surfboard and her brows you. "You are, are you?" She tilted her head and pursed her lips from side to side for a minute. "I'm okay with that," she finally said as she leaned back against him. Squirming for just a moment, she made a 'pffft' sound with her mouth and threw a waving hand up into the air. "I doubt that. It takes a lot to turn me off to a person."

Tilting her head back, Izzy's mouth hung open and she gave him a slight shove, her lips pulled together to keep her from sniggering. "You," she started, pausing to grin and let out a soft chortle, "aren't supposed to agree with me. I'm too cute and innocent to ever think of taking advantage of a well dressed man." Batting her eyelashes, she faked innocence for as long as she could before grinning widely. Yeeeah. Liar. She quirked a brow at his reaction to her fingers and she ran her tongue over her top teeth. "Is someone ticklish?" she inquired, turning her attention up to him, a devious glint in her blue eyes. Izzy resisted the urge in wiggling her fingers, but tucked that bit of information away for later. "Oh, and I'm sure a jacket'll keep women from trying to grab at you."

As his hand slipped down her back, Izzy's eyes fluttered for a brief second and she rolled into him somewhat to open her back up more. "What? Old grabby hands don't do it for you?" she murmured, slipping her small hand from his stomach to his side. "Well if old grabby hands doesn't, then what does?"

Shaking his head, he smiled. "No, no trophies. Just the testimony of my mother. And I'm sure she'll be willing to tell you jsut how annoying I can get when I'm sick," he said, nodding. He ran his hand through his hair once more, mostly out of habit, and then grabbed some more popcorn. Turning to glance at her, he smirked at her when she told him that he made a comfortable pillow. "Well, that's good to know. I'll have to remember that. I've honestly never been told that I make a comfortable pillow before, so that's a compliment," he smiled at her.

Nodding, he snickered. "You did. You kicked that rain's ass, and now it'll never be back. So, when people start complaining of drought conditions, then I'll know whose fault that is," he teased, smiling at her. Glancing down at her when she pulled away at his mention of a surfboard, he rose a brow. "Yes, yes I am," he assured her, smiling as she told him that she was okay with it and leaning back against him. "Good, because I wasn't really planning on taking no as an answer," he added, smirking. The corners of his mouth turned up as she mentioned that it took a lot ot turn her off to a person, and he nodded. "I'll keep that in mind as well," he stated.

"Hey, I'll agree with you if I want to agree with you. And it just so happens that I do want to agree with you when it comes to that one," he snickered, a small smirk on his face as he looked at her. "Whatever you say, Izzy," he smiled, glancing back at the television and picking up his glass of soda, taking a sip. "Ticklish? Never," he said, shaking his head. He didn't want to admit to being ticklish, that wouldn't get him anywhere good. "A jacket won't stop them from grabbing at me, but it'll at least put something else between their hands and my body other than this flimsy little wifebeater," he mentioned, shrugging. He glanced down at her as she slid her hand from his stomach around to his side, and he rose a brow. "Wouldn't you like to know?" he challenged teasingly, a small smirk crossing his face.

WHERE ARE YOU LADY!?

"Mmph. Well you do." His shoulder was surprisingly comfortable to lean against It wasn't too boney or too muscular, but just right. "I might just have to club you and drag you back to my bed." True, she was probably a foot shorter than he was and would have a terribly hard time dragging his body from the couch to her room and then up into her bed, not to mention having Hannah walk in on that would be awkward, but let her ramble and have her moment. "'Cause you feel better than that lousy pillow I have in there right now." Izzy definitely needed to go out and buy some new pillows, but that was neither here nor there at the moment. But she did make a mental note of it.

Pouting, she folded her arms across her chest for a moment. "I can't get away with anything, can I? I bet if it snowed you'd blame me." Sticking her tongue out at him, she promptly turned her head away from him with a soft 'hmph!' Izzy knew he was only teasing, and she was, too. So after letting her little stunt hang in the air for a moment, she turned back to him and snickered, mostly at herself. "So you were that sure of yourself that I wouldn't say no to you? Since you weren't going to take no for any answer, anyways," she challenged, perking both brows up. Smirking herself, she lightly shook her head and settled back in against him.

"Next time you need someone to disagree with you, I'll remember this moment and you'll be sorry you agreed with me to begin with," she said, poking him. The blonde was almost certain that a situation like that would never happen, but she threw it out there anyways. To his answer of his being ticklish, she lightly curled her fingers against his body and shrugged, "Whatever you say, Scott." Izzy had a theory that whenever someone said they weren't something, such as ticklish, they really were. And no doubt she'd have to test her theory out on Scott in the near future.

Reaching for her glass, she gulped the last bit of orange juice down and sat up. "Well if it's not old grabby hands.." she trailed with a small shrug as she moved to stand up. Turning around, she leaned over to be eye level with him, "..it's got to be something. And how can someone put that knowledge to use if they don't know what it is?" she retuned with a grin before straightening up and moving into the kitchen. She needed a refill.

Scott couldn't help but snicker at her comment about clubbing him over the head. "Really? Well, that wouldn't be nearly as fun for me as it would be for you. So maybe you shouldn't do it," he shook his head. "Besides, asking nicely is always a better way to go about things than to club someone over the head," he added, smirking at her.

Laughing at her comment about blaming her if it snowed, Scott nodded. "Yeah, if I thought I could get away with blaming you for snow, I'd definitely blame you. You'd be my go-to person for blame about the weather," he said, nodding. He smiled as she tried to play angry, it was cute. Shaking his head, he smiled. "Not buying it," he stated simply, tilting his head to the side. Nodding as she made the comment about being sure about himself, Scott smirked. "Mmhmm. So sure of myself it's pretty arrogant, actually," he teased. "And if you had said no, well then I'd just have to drag you out there against your will. No harm done," he teased, his grin still on his face. He couldn't seem to wipe that grin off of his face when he hung out with her, it was just a great time.

He stared at her for a moment after she made that last comment and then scratched the side of his head. "That thing you just said was a tad bit confusing. Let my brain catch up for a few minutes," he said, pointing at her. As she curled her fingers over his stomach, he involuntarily tensed it up for a moment, expecting her fingers to start tickling him there. And when they didn't, he relaxed his stomach muscles, nodding. "Exactly. Whatever I say," he said, glancing over at her and smirking.

Scott tilted his head to the side and smirked at her. "No, it's not old grabby hands. Mostly young grabby hands. But ... not like, super young. I mean my age grabby hands," he clarified, then scratched his head again. "I think I understood what I just said," he laughed, shaking his head. He watched as she got up to go refill her juice, and he held his cup up. "Can you be a doll and get me a refill, too?" he asked, giving her one of his million dollar smiles. "Please?" he added, raising his eyebrows.

"Now Scott," she reasoned with a tilt of her head, "where's the fun in asking nicely? It never got me anywhere with my brothers." Izzy slouched down on the couch so the heels of her feet could rest on the coffee table, and when they reached she crossed her right foot over the left. Tilting her head back, she looked up at him and smiled, "but I suppose since you're not a fan of the clubbing, I'll give the whole asking nicely thing a shot." It wouldn't kill her, after all. Izzy was naturally sweet!

"The only way you get to blame me for the weather is if you were to ever follow me home. And that would be because England is my home..and not yours." She made a face and then frowned. "That made a lot more sense in my head, I promise," she laughed, bringing her hand up to her face and scratching the tip of her nose. It really had. But apparently it was one of those things that you weren't meant to say aloud. Oh well. As she listened to how he would get her out on a surfboard had she not agreed to it, she scoffed. "And you say clubbing someone is wrong!" They appeared to be two of a kind.

The expression that crossed his face after her more than bizarre reasoning caused Izzy to laugh. It hadn't made much sense to her either, to tell the truth. Apparently being sick made her make a lot less sense than she normally did. "Just let it happen," she reasoned, smiling sweetly. The tensing of his stomach made her grin and once more she tucked a bit of information away about him. Oh yeah, he was definitely ticklish. If not ticklish, his stomach area was very sensitive to touch. Either way, Izzy would one day use that to her advantage.

"And I don't make sense, right," she drawled with a small laugh. "Your age grabby hands would mean you were how old?" Izzy canted her head as he held his cup out to her and for a moment she just put her free hand on her hip. Letting out a soft breath at his smile, she swiped his glass and shook her head. "You better be glad I like you so much," she warned, pointing at him as she moved back into the kitchen, "or I'd make you get up and get your own."

Upon entering the kitchen, the blonde sat both glasses on the counter and went about refilling each of their glasses -- hers with juice, his with soda -- and grabbed a few cough drops to stuff into her pocket. Grabbing their cups, she shuffled back into the living room and over to the couch where she held his glass out to him to take. As soon as he did, she took a sip from hers and sat it down before slipping down beside him, promptly retaking his arm and pulling it around her shoulders again.

Scott snickered, shaking his head. "That's because things are way different with brothers. They just try to annoy you. They think that's part of their job," he smiled, tilting his head to the side. Nodding when she told him that she'd give asking nicely a try, he smiled. "Good, because clubbing me over the head really isn't very nice at all," he pointed out, smiling. Raising a brow, he smirked at her comment about following her home. "Yeah, no sense whatsoever," he shook his head, laughing. "But at least you can admit that you don't make any sense," he pointed out, giving her shoulder a squeeze.

He glanced at her and snickered as she brought up the fact that he didn't make sense when he talked about the grabby hands. Shaking his head, he smiled. "My age grabby hands," he clarified, nodding. "Between the age of 25 and 30," he added, glancing over at her. "And, of course, I may be willing to make exceptions to those who need it," he added, smiling. "Do you fall in that age group? Because then, I just may let you get all grabby handed with me," he said, smiling. "I don't think I'd turn down your grabby hands, though," he smirked.

Smiling as she took his glass and moved into the kitchen, he nodded. "I'm very glad you like me so much. Otherwise, who would I watch cartoons with? Nobody else thinks they're cool. So yay for you, my friend. Yay for you," he said, nodding. He saluted her, smirking. When she returned with the glasses, he took his and took a sip before setting it down on the table. He couldn't help but smile as she grabbed his arm and pulled it back around his shoulders, glancing over at her. "I really must make a comfortable pillow," he pointed out, his arm moving to pull her closer.

Rolling her head to the side, Izzy scrunched her nose up in distaste. "I hate to admit it, but I suppose you're right. I know from experience they make dating a bleeding disaster." At the mere thought of her dating experience as a teenager, the blonde had to roll her eyes. If it wasn't Arthur playing interrogating her date, then it was Max playing the most ridiculous game of twenty-one questions possible. But that was all in the past, now wasn't it? "That's alright, though," she reflected retrospectively, "sisters dish it out just as badly." Yep. She'd secretly tormented most of Arthur's dates and Max's. Hell, she was still protective over them both. Izzy let off a soft squeak when he squeezed her shoulder. "I have no problem what-so-ever admitting when I'm wrong, thank you much." Sticking her nose up in the air for a quick moment, she then let out a laugh and turned to shoot him a smile.

As he answered her question of just how old he was, Izzy tilted her head and jutted one hip out. "A women never reveals her age, dear Scotty." She snickered, a grin breaking across her face as she snickered. "But for your benefit, yes, yes I do fall between those constraints. Though I'll take it as a compliment if you thought I was an exception." She gave a small curtsy and her grin grew ten fold. Izzy loved to hear that she looked younger than she actually was, but then again, what woman didn't?

"I guess you'd have to watch them alone if I weren't around," she answered from the kitchen, licking her lower lip. Izzy didn't mind watching cartoons alone, but it was nice having someone else around that enjoyed them. As she flopped back on the couch and he tugged her close, she snuggled up against his side. "You do," she laughed with a nod, throwing her arm across his stomach to his side once more. "I may be a lot of things, but a liar isn't one of them."

He nodded again, snickering. "Yeah, I know. I'm a brother, so I know all about it," he said, smirking. "My sister and I were always close, but I always gave the guys she dated a hard time. Gave them 'The Speech' about it, threatening them and everything. You know, all those things a brother's supposed to say," he smiled, shrugging. "But it's all in good fun, really," he added. "I'll bet your brothers had tons of fun with it, I know that I did," he laughed. Tilting his head to the side, he shook his head. "Nah, Rachel insists that she never threatened or tortured any of my girlfriends or dates," he added, scratching the side of his head. "But maybe she's just lying," he smirked.

Laughing at her comment about taking her possible exception as a compliment, Scott shook his head. "What makes you think that I thought you were younger?" he asked, raising a brow. He slid his arm around her shoulders again and smiled. "I'm only kidding, I promise," he said, smiling. "And I'm very glad that you fall within my age constraints," he added, nodding.

Nodding, Scott smiled. "Yeah, I would have to watch them alone. But that's just like how things were back in Las Vegas. I sat in my apartment and watched cartoons all the time. But then again," he tilted his head to the side, "I hardly spent any time in my apartment. I was busy at the casino all the time, most of the time I'd just pass out in one of the empty hotel rooms," he confessed. "I kept some spare clothes in the office, so I'd always have clean clothes if I needed them," he said, then shrugged. Smiling as she slid her arm around him again, he glanced down at her and rose a brow. "Well then what are some of those things you might be? I'm intrigued now," he said, smirking at her.

All in good fun, hm? Izzy understood that it was the brother's "duty" to take care of his sister, be she younger or older, but sometimes it got to be a bit much. Like when blokes didn't call her back -- that wasn't in good fun. That bit kind of stung. But she'd gotten over it. Furrowing her brow, she stifled a laugh at hearing Rachel never threatened any of Scott's girlfriends or dates. "Seriously?" She held her hand under her nose and let out a smaller laugh and gave a small shake to her head, "I nagged all of my brothers' dates back home. If they could deal with me then I deemed them worthy of my brothers," she gave a definite nod.

At his jesting, Izzy poked him square in the chest. "Didn't your mum ever tell you it wasn't nice to tease?" She smirked as he slid his arm around her shoulders again, growing all to comfortable with that simple gesture already. "Yeah and if I weren't sick I'd be golden." Crinkling her nose up some, she smiled. "Right?" She threw a playful wink in his direction, once more stretching her legs out in front of her to rest on the coffee table.

"That sounds lonely," she commented with a slightly pouty face, "or extremely tiring," she added with a simple shrug of her shoulders. The blonde had had more than enough alone time back home. Even with working and spending time with her family, she still had time to just sit back and relax. Tilting her head back a ways as his curiosity in her grew, she smirked and shrugged, resisting the urge to belt out Merideth Brooks' Bitch. Some of the lyrics applied to her, though most of them did not. "Well," she drawled, twitching the tip of her nose from side to side, "I'm Islen. British born and bred. I'm a pastry chef, a sister, an aunt, and a daughter. " Tilting her head to the side, she continued with, "I'm sweet, funny, cute, adorable even," she emphasized with a small roll of her eyes. Stopping there, she snickered, momentarily burying her face against Scott's chest. "That sounded like a terrible cheesy dating ad."

Scott nodded. "Yeah, seriously. Or, at least, that's what she's telling me. I had one girlfriend claim that Rachel was a complete bitch to her, but then again, that girlfriend couldn't really be trusted. She ended up being a skank in the end," he laughed, shrugging. "But then again, I can't really picture Rachel ever being mean to anyone. She's such a nice person, I think I got all the mean genes in that family," he teased. He wasn't generally a mean person, but if someone pissed him off enough, he could be pretty damn mean.

Laughing, Scott shook his head. "No, not really. My mom was a teaser, so I must have picked it up from her. Though, I'm not being a mean kind of teasing, I only do that to people I don't like. So count your blessings," he smiled, glancing over at her. He did like Izzy. She was a fun girl to hang out with. Sure, he had only hung out with her twice, including tonight, but both times he had a great time. Laughing again, he nodded. "Of course. If you weren't sick, then you'd be golden. And I'd let you get all grabby hands with me," he snickered, shaking his head.

Shrugging a little, Scott glanced back at her. "Lonely ... yeah, it did get lonely sometimes. Most of the time, though, I just didn't realize that I was lonely. I was always working, so I was tired a lot. But the time I spent there flew by," he said. "And then I started seeing a girl at the casino, so it was easier to spend time with her, since she worked in the place I did, and I was always there," he said, then cleared his throat. "That ended badly, though," he said, thinking about how she had broken his heart by killing his unborn child. Shaking those thoughts out of his head, he smiled. "All my relationships seem to end badly. That should be my new years resolution. Find one that won't," he smiled.

He listened as she started listing off qualities she possessed, and he smiled. "Those are all good qualities. Nothing untrue, I'm sure," he said, then tilted his head to the side. "Though, adorable? I might have to disagree with that one," he teased. He did, in fact, think Izzy was incredibly adorable. Smiling as she buried her face in his chest, he absent-mindedly slid his hand through her hair. "Well, cheesy? Yes. Terrible? Not so much," he shook his head.

Izzy smirked. "Every sister has a mean bone in her body somewhere. After all, we have to look out for our dopey brothers," she teased with a soft nudge. "If Rachel was a," she cleared her throat," bitch to that one girlfriend, she totally deserved it. We only want the best for the lot of you." The pastry chef had been a bitch on more than one occasion, but it never went any further than a few mean words. And those were only ever directed at those Izzy severely disliked. Never did she get violent. "You? Mean? ...I don't see it." Then again, she'd only hung out with him twice. But both times had been comfortable and full of laughter. She liked it. She liked him.

Wiggling her toes in the air, Izzy smiled. "Then I will do just that. Tonight before I go to bed, of course," she commented about her needing to count her blessings. Raising a brow, she rolled slightly and looked up at him. "Who's going to stop me from going all grabby hands on you?" Wiggling her eyebrows, Izzy giggled. The hand that she had moved to his side slipped back a little, fingers individually curling against his stomach almost devilishly, working out a soft, but constant rhythm.

Izzy listened as he explained his past relationships, the drumming of her fingers momentarily stopping as she focused her attention on him. "I've never had a work-place relationship work out. It always ended with one of us quitting and moving to a new restaurant." Obviously it hadn't been Izzy that moved. She made a name for herself back in Rhode Island, and London, so it was easy for her to keep her job and have another transferred. "Sorry to hear it ended badly, though," she offered with a small, sympathetic smile. As he seemingly rebounded from his prior thoughts, Izzy cuddled up against him after swiping a hand full of popcorn. "Let me know how that resolution turns out, hm?" She grinned, popping a kernel of popcorn in her mouth. "Because sucky relationships...well, suck." She shrugged. Yes, that was the best conclusion she could come to.

"Ha! You'd be the first that ever thought I was not adorable." She made a small face. "Twenty-something years old and I still get that. It gets old, trust me. Because adorable means you fall into the friend category more often times than not." Sticking out her bottom lip for the briefest of moments, she then shrugged, "whatever, though. I guess." Izzy settled as he ran his hand through her hair, her breathing evening out to a slow and steady beat. "Very cheesy," she agreed with a soft chuckle. "What about you? What would your cheesy dating ad sound like if you had one?"

Scott smiled and nodded. "Oh, I'm sure she's got mean bones somewhere, but they've just never been found yet. She would get mad at me when we were kids, and then just stalk off. Instead of hitting me or fighting with me," he smiled at the memories. "Though, we were so close growing up, we rarely fought," he added, shaking his head. He glanced down at her and smiled. "I know she only wants the best for me, she's told me many times," he nodded. He snickered as she seemed shocked that he could be mean, and he nodded. "Oh yeah, I can get mean. It's rare, but it happens. Especially when someone's trying to hurt someone I care about," he said.

Scott's hand reached down and grabbed hers as she started moving her fingers across his stomach and shook his head. "Uh-uh, there will be none of that," he said, lifting her hand so he could grab ahold of it with his hand that was around her shoulders, and then moving his other hand down to cover his stomach, patting it lightly. Shaking his head at her comment about work relationships, he rolled his lips into his mouth. "Yeah, they don't end well," he said softly, his features taking on somewhat of a far away look for a few moments as he thought about how his life would have been different. He still couldn't believe that he didn't tell Rachel about that, she'd be so angry with him when she found out. If she found out. Smiling over at her, he nodded. "I'll be sure to let you know," he concluded.

Scott tilted his head at her comment about being adorable. He did think she was adorable, and she did fall into the friend category, but he wasn't ruling out the possibility of her being more than a friend. He wan't sure what would happen between them, but he knew that he did enjoy her company, and he had a great time hanging out with her. Raising a brow at her question, he reached his hand up to scratch his head, before letting go of her hand that he was still holding prisoner. "Um, my dating ad?" he asked, thinking. "Well, of course it'd mention that I'm devastatingly handsome, and that I'm an amazing dancer, especially when it comes to 90's boy bands," he snickered, scratching his stomach absent mindedly. "And that I'm funny, dorky, and I love to watch cartoons," he added, nodding.

Izzy's bottom lip poked out farther than it had any other time that night when he pulled her hand away from his stomach, her slender wrist squirming about in his grip. Izzy attempted to bend her wrist enough to get a grip on his fingers, but failed miserably and resigned to her fate of having her arm held away from his sensitive stomach. "Well you're just no fun." She scrunched her nose up, completely teasing with him, though she was bound and determined on tickling his stomach one day. The distant look on his face combined with the softness of his voice caused Izzy to momentarily worry. Some one had hurt Scott...and bad. And though she hadn't known him for all that long, she still felt for him. And it caused a pang of hurt to spike up her spine. That just didn't sit well with her and she didn't even know the situation. "You better," she nodded, nudging her shoulder against him.

Time would tell what was going to happen between anyone, Izzy knew that. She also knew that she'd heard adorable more times than she could count. And almost always is was synonymous with 'little sister,' or as most guys know it by 'the friend zone.' As he let go of her hand, she moved her wrist in circular motions for a few moments before dropping to her make shift lap. "Amazing dancer," she cracked, "that I have to see." Pulling back somewhat to sit, Izzy sat back and took a good, hard look at him before nodding. "I can agree with those."

Reaching for her orange juice, she took a long swallow and settled back in against Scott. Minutes later, Izzy found herself nodding off, only catching herself when her cheek had fallen away from Scott's shoulder and her chin nearly hit her sternum. Seemed her cough medicine was making her drowsy. Finally. Bringing her hand to her eyes, she ran her fingers over the back of closed eye lids before sitting upright once more with a yawn. Smiling at him, she pushed stray hairs from her face and then stretched just a little. "I hate to run you out...but I think I'm going to pass out here soon," she told him with a laugh.

Glancing over at her as she started to doze off, Scott couldn't help but smile. "You're going to fall asleep at a very uncomfortable angle," he pointed out. Laughing as she said she was going to pass out, he nodded. "I can tell," he stated, the smile still on his face. He removed his arm from around her shoulders and stretched, reaching out and grabbing his glass of soda. He took a long drink from it, emptying the glass and stood up, carrying the bowl of popcorn into the kitchen area. He set it on the counter, and set his glass in the sink. Moving back out to the couch, he smiled down at her.

"Well, sicky, this was fun. Maybe we should do it again soon," he suggested, cocking his head to the side. He reached out for her hands and gently pulled her off the couch, and into a hug. He kissed her forehead gently. "Get better, okay?" he said, giving her a smile. He let go of her hands and then moved over towards the door, stopping for a moment and then jotting something on a pad of paper near her door. "That's my cell number," he explained, pointing at the piece of paper. "Let me know if you need anything, okay? I'm just a few doors down," he smiled at her, then gave her a dorky little wave before he opened the door and vanished behind it, heading back to his own cabin.
