I'm not sure if this is anywhere close to what you were expecting when you posted this prompt, and I'm sure I failed horribly at the ANGST, tears, and body-wracking sobs request, but I tried to make up for it by incorporating all sorts of other things that you might like AND by making it ridiculously long, which I hope you will forgive me for. (It was supposed to stop at 40 pages, I swear!) To give credit where it is due, any mentions of a dusk-blooming choke vine were borrowed shamelessly from The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede, the lyric is from Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, and the story about the lost Wagner opera was taken from a computer game called Gabriel Knight: the Beast Within (a very excellent werewolf-centric mystery that I strongly recommend to anybody that has even a hint of a liking for werewolves).
