Comfort Fics are the stories you read and re-read, stories you come back to when you want to feel good or want the familiarity of an old friend in story form. You're not reccing, you're sharing your Snape/Lupin warm blankets. This time around, we thought we'd also add an art component, so tell us about your comfort art as well.

I was going through some old links and clicked on one that I'm pretty sure was part of a Lusty Month of May fest as it is:

The page is not found, but the name of the link is "#17 The Letter L," and it was created on 5/17/2006. I went back in the archives of Pervy Werewolf to that date, but it isn't there. I believe it was art with Lupin and Snape - and the letter L.

Does anyone remember it? Have a working link?

In the spirit of the defeat of Prop 8 in California, does anyone know of stories in which there is a ban on gay wizard marriage or werewolf/wizard marriage? Bonus points if it is overcome.

Some time ago I read an incredible story where Remus and Severus had a daughter (Severus mpreg), but Remus knew nothing of her. An aunt and uncle of Severus's had raised the daughter in Italy. The daughter is grown and comes to Hogwarts, I believe as an apprentice to Severus. Remus learns she is their daughter. Reunions take place. Vacations in Italy--with Draco and Harry along where further romance ensues. And believe it or not, Severus and Remus's daughter falls in love with Sirius Black. Does anyone know the title, who wrote it, and where to find it.

FOUND (on my hard drive): One Snape/Lupin fic, in which Remus had been kept captive in Chile during the war. He's finally found, greatly injured, and after recovering in the hospital, he goes to Severus's farmhouse for the quarantine period before receiving his bill of health.

STILL MISSING: All header info, including the title and author's name. *facepalm*

Hi!

I'm really sorry for this, I hope this is allowed here -- but I've been bashing my head against the wall for the past few days trying to remember this fic. It's primarily Snupin, and set during OotP. Snape suffers through an accident in Grimmauld Place and is turned into a woman (and also sporting rather large breasts and longer hair, iirc), which piques the interest of a few people in the Order. I remember it has a bit of one-sided Charlie/Snape thing going at one point.

I've tried looking for it, but I honestly can't remember where I read it and if it was part of a fest or not. Sorry again, any help is appreciated!

( APRIL THEME SEARCH )

Hi there! I've been trying to find a fic I've read ages and ages ago, in which Severus is employed in a large multi-national wizarding corporation (analogous to a pharmaceutical corporation), with multiple assistants and lab slaves. He's working on lycantrophic research (either a cure or something else), and there is some sort of procedure that involves twins?/siblings?....One of the things I recall most vividly is a research-related sleepover party of a large group of werewolves at the lab during the full moon.

Do any of you smart people remember this fic at all? I've been searching google and rec pages in vain so far, and I'd love to revisit it...

( OCTOBER THEME SEARCH )

I'm going to try to fit in a regular thematic list update, posting a new theme on the first of each month. The post will remain open all month, and I'll add the new theme to the Snupin Themes on del.icio.us at the end of the month.

I'd like to start by updating the Snupin Library, because it hasn't been updated since October, 2006. Anyone can make suggestions for new additions to the library, but the suggestions must meet the following criteria:

1). You may not suggest your own work.

2) The story must have been written since October, 2006. We covered earlier works thoroughly with the initial creation of the Library, and I think we need to focus on stories written after the last update. If you aren't certain whether something was written after October, 2006, it's probably best not to suggest it.

3) The story must be at least 1000 words long.

4) The story must be publicly accessible, i.e. not posted in a locked journal or community post or on a password-protected archive.

5) This is NOT a "rec your favorite stories" event. You must suggest stories you think are enduring classics of the ship or good starter stories for newbies to the ship (or both) because new RL/SS readers are often pointed to the Snupin Library as a place for them to find a good representative sample of what the ship has to offer. That means we want the stories that will best represent the ship as a whole in the long term, not just someone's favorite story of the moment.

Other than that, anything is fair game. Any rating, any genre.

You may suggest as many stories as you like as long as they meet the above criteria. Any stories that don't meet the criteria will not be included in the Library update.

Please give me the title, author, and a link. No other information is necessary.

This update search will run through September 30; the suggested stories will be added to the Library in October.

I'm working on an essay for snapedom about Snape moving abroad after the war, and I wanted to cite a few fic recs in it. I recall reading a wonderful story in which Snape found Lupin in Australia, after Lupin was presumed dead after the war ended. Or maybe it was the other way around? But I seem to recall that Lupin had gone into hiding and didn't want to be found. Charlie Weasley was involved; I think he helped Snape find Lupin.

I loved the story, but now I can't seem to remember the title or author, and I would really appreciate it if anyone out there can help. Thank you! ^_^

On this snapedom thread, we were discussing how Harry would have turned out if he'd been raised by someone other than the Dursleys. I mentioned that Snape and Lupin might have made a good parenting team. Lupin would be kind and nurturing, and Snape more the disciplinarian, who wouldn't let things slide to avoid confrontation (as young Lupin did with the Marauders). And Lupin, as raisin_gal pointed out in the thread, would see to it that Snape wouldn't let Harry feel unloved.

Okay, I've transferred all the past thematic lists to Snupin Themes on del.icio.us, updated with new stories, and added some older ones I'd missed or overlooked, so I think it's pretty well caught up for the time being, and we can move on to a new search. I still have the suggestions from that long-ago poll on little slips of paper in my King Kong trading card tin, so I'm going to resume drawing theme suggestions randomly.

Thematic Search: Werewolf Mating

What qualifies: Any Snape/Lupin story in which Snape and Lupin find themselves in a "mate or die" scenario or in which werewolf mating urges/practices/rituals play a significant role in the story.

You will need to include the following information in your comment:

1) Title of the story
2) Author
3) URL (must be publicly accessible; no password protected archive links or links to locked LJ posts)
4) Note whether it's a complete one shot, part of a series, or a WiP

You may submit as many stories for inclusion on the thematic list as you like. The only criteria for inclusion are

1) Snape/Lupin must be the primary pairing (but threesomes/moresomes are fine, as are secondary pairings)
2) The story must fit the theme of the search
3) The story must be longer than a drabble. I'm going to say at least 1000 word minimum to make it worth the time and effort of compiling, especially since some of these themed lists are likely to get pretty long.

I'm not looking for a specific fic, but really any H/C in which Snape is abused or raped and Remus "makes it all better". I know these tend not to be completely realistic, but I can't get enough. I'll even take it if it's just a hurt!Snape H/C and not a snupin. Thanks.

Searching for a fic:
Quite recently I read a (unfinished WIP?) story that had Snape working as a prostitute because the MoM no longer allowed him any other way to gain income.  He worked disguised under a disillusionment(?) charm, but Lupin would hire him for the night without disguise.  At some point he went to the house/country estate/property Lupin had inherited from Sirius.   Does anyone remember the fic I am referring to?
