Fic: "Jerusalem", for severity_softly
Jerusalem, for [info]severity_softly
Rated: NC17
Summary: And was Jerusalem builded here, among these dark Satanic mills? (William Blake).
Word count: ~8100
Betas: Angel 1, who made Remus real; Angel 2, who cheerfully pointed out all the rotten bits; and Angel 3, who wielded canon and grammar like lethal weapons. The good is good because of them; the bad is mine alone.
Prompt: For severity_softly's second prompt, "Post-War AU where Remus wants to have a child; Severus has reservations." Despite there being seven (seven!) uses of the word 'sex' in the prompt, um. There is no porn. Apologies!
Warning: MPreg -- no, wait, come back!; an extremely. . . impressionistic use of DH (I really couldn't bear to read it again) which makes it AU to the point of crack, though the story itself is not crack. Tonks and Teddy both made themselves integral to the plot (refer to 'crack', above), again, apologies.

Ahhh! Yay! I was just heading off to bed, and sadly must be prompt in doing that tonight, but I will read this tomorrow, and I am so excited! Thanks in advance, Santa!

I loved this! The birth-fathering stuff, the really neat way of dealing with Tonks (and Severus's relationship with 'Teddy'), his communications – of course he'd want all sorts of fonts and colours of text! – Remus's ways of putting the pressure on: all good.

Thanks!

I braved the scary mpreg (on the recommendation of [info]snegurochka_lee and it was worth it! There's some lovely writing here, and the "yes" scene was absolutely gorgeous. Snape's way of speaking was fascinating -- I don't know that I've seen that in fic before. His and Remus's characterizations were spot on.

I love the fact that this isn't an mpreg story - it's a story about mpreg - about agreeing to actually have children, partly about the mechanics and the social background - really this story is so amazingly broad and answers all my questions (even up to how a Muggle upbringing influences the reactions to wizarding ways!), I'm in awe. Your characterisations were very spot-on, and I love the fact that you don't shy away from dealing with the past. Remus and Severus' relationship, the snake venom, Tonks. This is just so well thought out and rounded - I am completely in love with this story. Great job you did here, dear mystery author!
