A Decade of Snupin: November
Title: Forgiven
Author: sitruunavohveli
Beta: andymort from LJ. You are my hero, hon!
Word count: ~240 words
Rating: PG
Notes: I’m late but not hopefully too late yet! For the decade of Snupin I’m going to write 12 different pieces of fiction from 12 different songs that somehow remind me of Snupin. I also try to have different theme words for all the pieces. If I am very lucky these will actually form one longer story but we’ll see. I will try my best. :D
Just for the sake of my own sanity, I’ve ignored some parts of the Deathly Hallows but kept some. My first song is Forgiven by Within Temptation, and if you want you can listen it here. I know there is so much potential left in this song still so if someone else gets any inspiration from it, feel free to create something. ;) My theme for this month was “first snow” just because we have loads of it here right now! Hope you enjoy this!

Remus put Teddy to bed. The boy was impossibly energetic, and sleeping seemed to be the last thing in his mind. Never in his right mind had Remus expected to be single-parenting an overactive two-year-old, but here he was. Life had turned out to be quite different from everything he had expected. He had always thought that if he even had any children, he would have somebody with whom to raise them.
Teddy fell asleep at last after a story read from The Tales of Beedle the Bard, and Remus finally had some time for himself. These were precious moments, ones that he spent reading a good book or just thinking. Now he watched as first snow fell outside, and he thought about the war and all he had lost. Snow made everything look clearer and cleaner, and not for the first time Remus thought where Severus was at this moment. He had just disappeared after Voldemort had fallen, and no one had seen him since. The Wizengamot had announced only a few months after ending of the war that Severus was more or less the only living Death Eater who had been helping their side during the war and would therefore get no punishment if he chose to return some day.
The wizarding world had forgiven Severus everything, and so had Remus. He just hoped Severus was all right wherever he was and that he knew Remus was still missing him.
