Title: Depth of Focus

Characters: Remus Lupin
Challenge: Trading Places challenge
Summary: It happened more perfectly than Severus could have imagined. He eased the camera out from the sheets just as Remus cocked his head to the side and looked directly at him, eyes full of that heady resolve Severus had fallen into at the restaurant, that deep, hard passion. His finger pressed the shutter release and Severus knew. He had just taken a perfect photograph.
Notes: An illustration for [info]westernredcedar's gorgeous fic Depth of Focus. This was actually just supposed to be a quick sketch to map out the picture before I started the final, but I liked the sketch so well that it ended up becoming the final (albeit cleaned up quite a bit). Like Severus, I felt that I had just captured the perfect snapshot of Remus in that moment and I knew that any other attempt probably wouldn't cut it. At least, I hope I did. :P

But I must say, I wouldn't have guessed it was you, your style is usually more recognizable - not that this piece isn't as nice as the others !

WHEEE! I just freaked out about this at your journal, but I'll come here to dance and spin as well. :))) This is PERFECT, Ale. You captured Remus just the way Severus sees him. My favorite part is the unveiled, utter *trust* on his face, just at it should be. Honestly, I am beside myself, darling. EEEEE! :)))

You did a wonderful job capturing the moment in your sketch, just as Severus did. It's so incredibly beautiful - Remus' open, vulnerable state, his skinny body, the rumpled sheets and tousled hair, his trusting expression, with that small heartbreakingly sweet smile. It is perfect! :)

That is so amazingly beautiful! The depth of expression that you're able to capture in just a few lines has always impressed me. What's especially wonderful about this one is that it *looks* like a b/w photograph, which is just so appropriate. Really fabulous piece.

Nicely done. I had my doubts that anyone could capture that moment in the story, because it was so specific... and I suppose that everyone has their mental image of what he looked like, but this... this is just lovely. And the sheets..!!! Nnnnnnngggggg....

Wow! This was one of my favorite fics to come out of the exchange this year, and I really wanted to see some art depicting Snape's photographs of Lupin.
