This game focuses around a fictional apartment complex in Kensington, UK. This is a directory of where the characters go to school and work. The boroughs were chosen because they give a good range of boroughs typically chosen by the rich, the poor, and ones people just plain seem to be interested in. The boroughs this game takes place in are Camden, City of London, City of Westminster, Croydon, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith & Fulham, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Kingston Upon Thames, Lambeth, Richmond Upon Thames, Southwark and Tower Hamlets. Below there is a bit of information on all of them.

CAMDEN






Camden is located primarly in inner London and is home to some of London's most desirable areas. It has many major bodies, including The British Library, the British Museum, the British Medical Association and The Royal College of Vetinary Surgeons. It is also home to University College London and is the main headquarters for The University of London. It is famous in particular for Camden Market which attracts many visitors due to the large variety of items that can be found there.

It has 227,500 residents and the average house price is £604,640. Average flat price is £418, 810.

    CITY OF LONDON






    The City of London is the historic core of London, lying within the center. It is a major business and financial centre, ranked alongside New York City as the leading centre of global finance. Approximatley 8000 people live there, with around 340,000 people working there - generally in the financial services sector.

    The average house price in the area is £430,387. The average price for a flat would be roughly the same. The City of London is the third most expensive place in Greater London.

    CITY OF WESTMINSTER






    The City of Westminster is home to many of London's famous landmarks including the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Whitehall and the Royal Courts of Justice. There are many more that you can find listed here, including Big Ben, Madame Tussauds, the Royal Albert Hall, and Hyde Park. The official population is 198,779, but only about 35% of households are actually occupied by their owners. It also includes many popular universities, such as King's College London, University of the Arts London, London School of Economics, and the Royal Academy of Music. It includes many famous areas of London, including Covent Garden, Knightsbridge, Mayfair and the West End.

    The average house price in the area is £733,446. The average cost for a flat is £614,910. The City of Westminster is the second most expensive place in Greater London.

    CROYDON







    Croydon is the largest London borough by population and is located in the South West. It is one of London's leading business, financial and cultural centers and has the largest office and retail center outside of Central London. It was the first London borough to gain Fairtrade status.

    Croydon suffers a bad reputation when it comes to crime. Often nicknamed "Stab Central" Croydon is actually one of the top 10 safest areas of London, but still maintains a terrible reputation and is generally avoided after dark.

    Croydon's population is at 342,700 and the average house price is £223,615. The average flat price is £155,355. Croydon is the fourth LEAST expensive area of London, and is the cheapest area within this game.

    GREENWICH







    Greenwich is located in Inner London in the South East, and is one of the five host areas for the 2012 Olympics. Greenwich is home to the University of Greenwich and also The Trinity College of Music. It contains Greenwich Park and on the outskirts contains The Millenium Dome - now renamed The 02 Arena.

    There are 228,100 residents in Greenwich. The average house price is £247,988. The price for a flat is similar.

    HACKNEY







    Hackney lies in North London, and forms part of Inner London. It has a very negative reputation and is one of the most crime-affected boroughs. Considerable press coverage has surrounded the area for a number of years, in part due to the failings of many of it's council services. It is one of the 10% most deprived areas in the country, with 47% of children living in low income households. It is one of the most ethnically diverse areas, with just 47% of residents being white British.

    The population of Hackney is 202,819 and the average house price is £262,961. The average price for a flat is roughly the same.

    HAMMERSMITH AND FULHAM






    Hammersmith and Fulham is located in inner London. It is home to the BBC Television Centre and Westfield Shopping Centre as well as The Hammersmith Apollo. Richard Branson's Virgin Group also has it's headquarters in the borough.

    ISLINGTON







    Islington is located in Inner London. It is referenced in The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy and is the third cheapest property on the London version of Monopoly. It is the former home of ex-prime minister Tony Blair, X-Factor winner Leona Lewis and the current home of celebrities such as Colin Firth, Hugh Laurie and James McAvoy among others. It contains City University London and London Metropolitan University.

    The population is 175,797. The average house price is £393,225. The average price for a flat is £330,268.

    THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON & CHELSEA






    The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea is immediatley to the west of the City of Westminster and contains some of the most expensive residences in the world. It features many world famous museums including The National History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, and is also home to Imperial College London. It includes districts such as Chelsea, Earl's Court, Kensington and Notting Hill.

    The average house price in the area is £1,080,499. Average flat cost is £759,990. Kensington & Chelsea is the most expensive area within London, and consequently, within this game.

    THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON UPON THAMES






    The Royal Borough of Kingston on Thames is located in South-West London, as the name suggests, on the Thames. It has one of the most visited shopping areas outside of Central London and has a large variety of retail stores and exclusive boutiques. It's most famous store is Bentalls. It is also home to Kingston University. Unusually for London, Kingston does not have an underground station, but does have 64 buses currently running throughout it.

    LAMBETH






    Lambeth forms part of inner London. It is one of the most ethnically diverse areas, with just 62% of the borough being white. The largest area within Lambeth is Brixton, infamous throughout the country as being considered one of the more dodgy areas. It also includes Vauxhall and Clapham. Along the river is the famous landmark The London Eye as well as St Thomas' Hospital, The Florence Nightingale Museum and The Brixton Murials.

    RICHMOND UPON THAMES






    Richmond Upon Thames is located in South West London and forms part of Outer London. It is the only London borough to spread out over both parts of the River Thames and is a largely green borough with many famous parks and gardens - in fact, it has over 100! It has more than five times the amount of green as any other London borough. It's most famous is of course Richmond Park followed closely by Kew Gardens. It is home to The National Physical Laboratory, Hampton Court Palace and Twickenham Stadium. Residents of Richmond upon Thames are the 2nd most active in the country when it comes to sports and exercise.

    It's population stands at 180,100 and the average house price is £441,131. The average flat price is quite significantly lower, at £287,999.

    SOUTHWARK






    Southwark is located in Inner London, towards the South East. It is ethnically 63% white. It contains many famous landmarks including Tower Bridge, The Millenium Bridge, and London Bridge. It is also home to Borough Market, London's most famous food market and The Globe Theatre. It is the home to many museums including the Imperial War Museum and The Tate Modern. Universities in the area include London South Bank University and part of King's College London.

    Southwark has a population of 244,866 and the average house price is £329,670. The average flat price is £289,146.

    TOWER HAMLETS






    Tower Hamlets is located directly to the east of City of London and takes up the majority of the Docklands area. It has many of the tallest buildings in London and is one of the five host boroughs of the 2012 Olympics. It has one of the biggest numbers of ethnic minorities - 30% of the residents are Bangladeshi. It contains many well known areas including The Tower of London and Canary Wharf, which contains some of the largest buildings such as The HSBC Tower.

    The population of Tower Hamlets is 220,500 and the average house price is £317,094. The average price for a flat is around the same number.
