Hey guys! I'm sorry for the lengthy absence. Out of respect to the moderators of my current communities that I should catch up in those first.

So now it's time to start.

The decision was to start with the first season. But I'd like to propose this to everyone stealing a bit from Supernatural and the season opener.

My thought is to go with the explosion - have everyone on the plane, as in all of our characters, and the plane re-crashes. You decide what things your character remembers from their previous time on the island.

Everything will still be intact. They will all know each other, they will know the island, etc. Think groundhog day idea sorta.

Tell me what you think. I'd say Jack should post first but Emma is really busy at school, so although we are Jackless - we aren't Jackless - if that makes sense.

I'd like to start Wednesday night if that works - if not the weekend. I hope that's enough lead time.

Hey all! Think I know most of ya... well maybe. My memory sucks. Anyway, I'm Colleen.

I'll be playing Daniel Faraday: jittery physicist who also has a crappy memory. Depending on where (season wise) the game is taking place, I may need some feedback as to how to bring Dan in. Always up for some plotting as well.

FYI

I've had two flu shots this month and reactions to both of them. The first, wasn't so bad - it was the regular flu but this is to the H1N1 virus. I'm at risk. Since I was a kid, I've had a low immune system. They've never been able to tell me why. I had to take a lot of B12 IV's when I was younger. I almost died when I was six. I was the third kid in Alabama (now this was back with the dinos ruled the earth.) to have this disease - it's very rare and treated and I don't have it now, but it rears it's ugly head.

Basically I catch everything, it's very hard for me to bounce back, but I always do.

I just wanted y'all to know. Most people who rp with me know, well not the details but just in general.

My Internet's up and running, yay! I still might be a little slow at tagging/doing the challenges because it's nearing the end of the semester, and I've got two research papers and homework to catch up on, but I'll be around, squeezing in as much activity as I can ( count on it ). If y`all want a more in-depth update about the move/the new place or anything like that, leave a comment ( or e-mail me ), and I'll get back to you as soon as I can, promise. But right now I basically just wanted to let you guys know that I now have Internet access and should be able to stay in pretty frequent contact with everyone.

Okay, hey, guys!

Two little updates: for those of you who didn't know, I'm moving pretty soon, so I've been much more susceptible to, say, agreeing to go to friends' houses or going out to dinner or playing that one Xbox game since I won't have an Xbox in 23 days....

Anyway, the point is, this is why I'm less internet-reliable, and generally not being a help when it comes to giving my input in communities. THIS WILL IMPROVE. Just maybe... not right away.

Update two: JESS IS ALIVE. Yes. We can all breathe easier. She also may or may not be able to install her internets soon. Keep your fingers crossed, because sometimes these things can be cranky.

I'm glad to see people responding to my questions, and the journal entry challenge in the IC comm.

I discussed some possible plot points with Dan so check out our discussion when you can.

I'm a big one on character development. You all have excellent handles on your muses, but this is a new reality for them. This world will create difference in them good/bad or both. Try at least two challenges, then you'll know if you like doing them or not. You might not, but your muse may.

Part of a community is participation. Schedules, health, real life causes keeps us from doing all the things we want. If you can't do them, because you don't have internet access, or your classes are a bitch, or your just too sick that is one thing.

If you don't want to do it, simply because it's just one more thing your character has to do then you should reconsider being in this community. I hope you understand me on that one. It's not manditory, it is a choice. Many people can't do it because of time. That's a huge difference in not doing it because it's bothersome.

We have two wonderful women writers who don't have Internet access. So we'll do the challenges, and little threading to get to know each other's writing styles, but for now, I'd like to wait until both are back. I'm sending positive thoughts that the two returns conincide.

Hey guys,

I'm just here to let you know that Jess' previously described situation has been accelerated. She doesn't know when she will be online again. It could be a while, but she'll try to be soon. Her characters are in our hands, but I think I speak for everyone when I say they'll always be hers. And if I don't, too bad. Cause there it is.

To make a long story short, my mom and I have to be moved out of this house within sixty days. Now we're down to about a month and a half. Within that period of time, both of us need to get a job, find an apartment, pack everything up, and be moved out of here and into there ( wherever there is going to be ). The problem is that my mom's credit has been ruined because after her divorce, she was unable to pay off her credit cards ( thanks to my father who is a lying, cheating son of a bitch who hasn't bothered to give us the $500 a month he owes us in two years ). So even if she is able to find employment by then, it's going to be hard for us to find a place that doesn't run a credit check. Or, if it does, doesn't care that her credit is shot ( regardless of the fact that she had excellent credit for over twenty years ).

My point is that because of everything that's going on, I have no idea from one day to the next what is going to be cut off ( phone lines, Internet access, etc. ) or where we're going to be shuffled off to. Obviously since I don't know that, I'm not sure how much longer I'll be available for posting, e-mailing, and all those other things I need a computer to be able to do - at least until we can get this all straightened out. So I'm warning you now: if I suddenly disappear, that's the situation. A number of things could've happened, but I'll be fine, so don't worry about whether I got deathly ill or anything like that. I'll probably text Miko if something suddenly comes up, and I don't have a chance to tell y`all myself.

I realize that since this game is just starting up, this is a lousy time to be up in odds about whether I'll be able to post or not, how frequently, or how much longer that'll last. So if for any reason I lose Internet access for an extended period of time and y`all decide that either ( or both ) Juliet and Richard are important to the current plot, you have my permission to give the character(s) to someone else. Whenever I come back, I can figure out someone else to play.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but things just keep getting more and more complicated, so I thought you all should know. I also am posting this here because pretty much everyone I associate with on a regular basis or do most of my scenes with are members of this community - and because I love you guys.

In order to get our story arcs going I need to ask some questions, and I’d like you to answer.

1. If you could chose an episode and/or season to begin the community when in the cannon series would you prefer to start from and why? (Your character is alive so that isn’t an issue. Look at the entire series)


2. Regardless of that answer, would you prefer to have the majority of the action occurring on or off the island?

We have a lot of interest in this community. If I were a potential applicant to a community, I’d be curious as to the writing style, type and quality of the members. Since we are waiting for our Sawyer to return, I’m posting a thread from another community where our pups play. This is an old thread between: Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet. Kate has a bit of a meltdown in this particular thread.

The host community for that thread is a multi-fandom community and welcomes new members. If you want to RP characters not limited to but including LOST, Buffy/Angel, Doctor Who, Twilight, Torchwood, The Vampire Diaries, Dollhouse, and Underworld I know the moderator would love to have you apply. Personally, I’d love to see more people in Dollhouse and Underworld as I’m the only one, and VD is just starting. (Eleana/Katherine, Stefan, and Damon are spoken but the rest of the cast is available.)

My name is Dan. I shall be playing the role of destiny's child: John Locke.

I was invited to play by Stephy and Terri, both wonderful people!

I'm an aspiring writer, living in LA, hoping to write for great TV shows along the lines of Lost. I haven't done much RPing, however, I did write a winning script for Lostpedia's Season 4 Writing Contest. I also created an online writers group that hosted the Season 5 Writing Contest, and is currently doing a Season 6 and Zombie Season 7 contest.

I look forward to discovering just how far down the rabbit hole we can go!

There won't be a posting limit - I'll only ask if you are in a thread with others that you work time-frames out. Community pace will be dictated by the posts. You post when you can. Generally we'll do a posting order but if the opportunity for a sub-conversation hits also respond to that person.

Only two rules: No Drama and Play nice.

FYI – randomness abounds
1. Applications: everyone has a vote. You'll have three choices Yes, No, or not voting.

2. Please post in both the character‘s personal journal and the LIT journal. Example: Jack makes a post; Juliet wants to respond to it but it's for someone else. By posting in the character journal this affords everyone other opportunities for interaction. Another character may reply to Jacks journal creating a different outcome that doesn't affect the storyline. (This isn't mandatory.) Note: Multiple people could reply to a specific character journal post creating a private thread with that person. For example: Jack, Sawyer and Richard could be beating Ben up in multiple threads. (luv ya Ben) I didn't want to use Juliet/Kate/Jack example again.

3. Remember that you are the authority on your character. The only time, I can think of that I'd ever ask you to make changes would be if there were glaring grammatical mistakes; such as changing tenses within a post. I go back and edit my posts, or at least I try to do that, as I make mistakes. I don't often say anything about another‘s work, but I didn't want to surprise anyone if I do. I know when I go back and read my stuff; I'm like "I can't believe I wrote that." Luckily Jack always understands Kate's intent.

4. If you want to go off with your own story arc that’s fine as long as: the other people involved are in agreement, and that it doesn't contradict the current plot. Use flash forwards, memories, dream sequences for inspirations, again as long as the people involved are okay with it. Please post your individual/group plots in the OOC so that I'll know as will the rest of the community. Note a flash forward or the new side flashes would be in your sequences.

5. Many times I‘ll ask for your opinion. Two things to keep in mind for me, I'll always try to answer last so I'm not dictating, to me moderators are guides, but people moderate differently. Since everyone has a say; your opinion does matter, I’m the tie breaker.

6. If you want to do solo posts which can help with story lines, character development, etc. Just don't add the Who part in the entry.

8. Rating: You only need to add a rating if it the post will contain violence, sex, etc. There will not be any rapes in this community any sexual threads must be consensual. In relationships sex can happen. Any sexual thread must be placed behind a cut, and rating must be in your post or log header. This way every member can chose whether to read it or not. I will read every post and it's tags. I won't sensor what you chose to write, unless I feel it is necessary. Remember at the start there aren't any established romantic relationships.
