For The Ped (Supernatural/BtVS, Gen, 15ish)

title: exception to every rule
author: lisa roquin
rating: 15ish
fandom: supernatural/btvs
characters: Dean, Tara
wordcount: 875

"Stay back!" Dean snapped. "Goddamned Witches!"

He hated witches. Hated them with a passion. There was no such thing as a good witch. There was no such thing as an even tolerable ignorable witch. And these seven bitches were in a class of their own.

Seven sisters. Lynched and their bodies burned by the locals in 1839, so a trip to the cemetary, a little digging--well, a lot of digging, there were freaking SEVEN of them--some gas, a match and some salt wasn't going to cut it. No one knew what was done with the ashes and bits of bone left after burning. Banishing only pissed em off and didn't do jackshit. He could see why they were lynched. Damn crazy evil bitches, all seven of them.

They had no luck in finding anything that could have dragged these bitches out of hell and back to terrorizing the tiny town of Looking Glass Creek, Michigan.

A knife flew by him, missing the side of his head by less than a finger's width.

Ghosts with telekenesis sucked.

Witch bitch-ghosts with telekenesis really sucked.

He hoped to hell Sam was okay. There were only five of the bitches. Either two of the sisters were playing invisible or they were elsewhere.

"Tara, goddamn it!" Dean snarled knocking the woman down to the floor with a less than gentle tackle. Cas had shown up, said they needed to watch out for her and left. That had been three weeks ago.

She mostly cringed and shook and cried silently and hadn't said a damn word. She made Dean's skin crawl and pissed him the hell off. She was just broken. He wanted to kill someone for that. And he wanted to kick Cas' ass for dumping her on them. What the hell were they supposed to do with her? Really? Just WHAT? There was an apocalypse going on for shit's sake.

"L-let m-me."

Dean stared. "Now you talk."

"Off! L-let m-me." She shoved at him, something dangerous in her eyes and the hair on the back of Dean's neck stood on end. Power gathering and starting to crackle around her.

Cas dumped a damn witch on them!

She managed to shove him off her while he was staring and scrabbled to her feet.

"E-ENOUGH!" she shouted. Her eyes were wild and power crackled around her.

Cas dumped a damn witch on them. A powerful one, and damn! He made a mental note not to piss her off. No. He wasn't going to kill her either. He was kicking Cas' ass. Dump a damn witch on them, and they both would protect her with their lives, she'd gotten in under their skin bad. AND SHE WAS A WITCH! YOU KILLED WITCHES! Oh Cas was gonna get his ass kicked to freakin' Hell and back.

That wasn't Latin...Greek maybe? He couldn't quite tell. The Witch-Bitch Ghost sisters were shrieking and sending shit flying even faster and more deadly. Tara's voice was so soft, broken with a really damn bad stutter but she was calling up some serious shit. Some seriously scary shit. Dean could feel the power in the air. Ancient and other and no, no, no. He was not going to kill Tara. He couldn't do that any more than he could kill Sam. Cas was another story, goddamn him! Well, maybe God already did. They were all pretty well damned.

Oh fuck! Dean winced and pressed his hands over his ears. The shrieks of the Witch-Bitch Ghost Sisters was deafening, incapacitating. A crack in the fucking air somewhere between blood red and black. It didn't smell like hell--no brimstone, sulfur and blood--but dark and dangerous, herbs and moss and power. Dirt and death, grave yards in the fog after rains and decay. Something other, ancient.

The Witch-Bitch Ghost Sisters screamed more and fought as they were slowly sucked into the--whatever it was. The other two were there--where the hell they'd come from and when he didn't know or care. All seven of the bitches fighting not to be sucked into the vortex, dimensional rift, whatever it was.

"TO HECATE I COMMEND THEE, BELLADONNA MEISTER!"

The shrieks and pull of that weird rip in the air strengthened, sucking debris from the rickety shack into it. The pull tugged at his clothes and he slid a freaking inch along the floor. Tara staggered, hair in her face, skirt flying toward the vortex.

She repeated the To Hecate I Commend Thee bit, down the line of the other six sisters--Marigold, Amarinthia, Morgana, Opal, Hyacinth and Stella. Then went through the list twice more fighting to stay on her feet. The shrieking witch-bitches were sucked into the vortex and--Boom! Nothing. just nothing, all calm and quiet like nothing ever happened. Well except for his own heavy breathing and the thud of Tara collapsing to her knees, panting.

"You're a goddamned witch!" Dean blurted.

"A g-good o-one," Tara managed, looking scared of him.

"I've never met a good witch. They're all like the Bitch-sisters!"

"I- I- I'm g-g-good."

Dean didn't really believe that, but he wasn't going to argue. He couldn't. Arguing meant having to kill Tara probably and that wasn't gonna happen--freaking ever.

"Well, exception to every rule I suppose," he said finally.

glad you liked :)

Yeah, set vaguely *now* in Spn verse so, assuming Cas ripped Tara out of heaven for some reason in the PTB's all bets are off Apocalypse Draft.

Oooh! Lovely!

This *almost* inspires me to catch back up with the Wincester Clan, but not really.

Thank you for the lovely Halloween prezzie. I will go and drool over it a little more.

:D Yay glad you liked.

~laughs~ I need to catch up on the Winchester clan. I only get bits and pieces and reviews on anything current with Boo-monsters roaming.

Cute. I love the conflict between Dean's urge to protect and his dislike of witches.
