Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Dean Thomas and Padma Patil.
WHAT: Welcoming Padma properly to the building!
WHERE: Padma's new flat.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 25th, afternoonish.
RATING: PG?
STATUS: Incomplete.

Despite the fact that Dean had spent plenty of time with Parvati - mostly due to Lavender and Seamus, given the fact that he had never quite been brave enough to initiate outings on his own - it had been far too long since he crossed paths with her twin. It was unsurprising, given the fact that she hadn't been spending much time in England lately at all; not to mention that, considering their different houses, they had never seen quite as much of each other as he and Vati had in school. Of course, they had been in the same year, so their classes had been similar for several years - thus their friendship, limited as it may have been.

However, as reserved as he may have been at times, Dean was never the type to enjoy being lonely. As he had suggested, he and Padma had gotten ahold of their mutual friends and invited them to her new flat for moving help and awful takeout, but as the afternoon wore on, the others had other obligations to take care of and had - one by one - vacated the premises. Luckily, Dean's schedule had left him without work today, so he was free to stay and assist in the cleaning up process as well as moving in the last few objects.

Even now, he was pulling apart the flaps to one of the few boxes they hadn't finished unpacking, ripping the tape off without a second thought, as most men tend to do. Without a second thought - and not actually sure where in the apartment the Indian girl was at the time - he called out to nowhere in particular, "Any idea where you want these?"

It was still weird for Padma to think about the fact that she now lived in England again. Getting her own place really made it that much more real. Perhaps it was over due. There was just so much she could put up with living with three other girls. Not to mention Padma sort of had been in the way. Either way it was time. She was happy to have her own place, and thankful to Dean for suggesting it. Not to mention that Oliver helped her look. It just made it all that much better.

Padma was really happy that Parvati and her group of friends were so willing to help her, sure Padma would consider them her friends as well... They just weren't as close to her as they were to her sister and her sisters best friend Lavender Brown. As much as Padma liked Lavender there was only so much she could handle the blond girl. She was honestly amazed at how Dean managed to seem so close to her. Of course Padma didn't know Dean as well as she'd like to. He was kind, and easy to talk to.

As everyone had started to vanish off to do other things she was surprised that Dean actually was okay with staying. He didn't have to, she didn't want to make him feel as though he had to help. She honestly was already working out ways to repay him for being so kind to her. As she was putting away a couple of more books she heard his voice from the other room. She had no idea what he was talking about, she merely called out. "I'll come look as soon as I put this book in place." Padma was very set on organizing her books in her own way. As she placed the last book that was in her arms up on the shelf she headed to where Dean was. As she looked over at the box he'd just opened a smile grew across her dark face.

"Oh." She said blushing slightly at the sight of stuffed animals. "There is the second to top shelf in my room, that's where they go." She said as she reached up tucking a lost strand of black hair behind her ear. This was the only problem with having someone she didn't know really well help her out. There were some things she forgot about and didn't think to try and hide before a boy got to see them. There was a reason she was the twin that didn't exactly get the boys.
