Dear Raven,

I'm glad to hear Angel hasn't seen too many from my troupe, but more so I'm pleased to hear it brings you some sort of comfort. Any comfort is a good one at this point I believe. I don't mind you renting out rooms, just be careful, I'd say restrict it to women and children like you mentioned-- I can't be there to watch over you, and while I know you can take care of yourself I'd rather not have to worry about strange men roaming the halls at night. Have you picked up needle point? You'll have to write me of some of what you've made-- I'm afraid there's very little in the way of color here.

That boy, or young man as he probably would be now, has always been interesting. I'm glad to hear that he's been good to you. I'm sure it's been difficult, but perhaps he too is afraid of being sent over-- it's very difficult to leave attachments behind. Trust me I know.

He might expect those very things from you; and the best I can offer is to tell him. If things are bothering you the best way to resolve them would be honesty. You're both young and there's much to learn about life and love and all of those things. I'm sure McCoy is just nervous, you're quite a beautiful girl Raven; and were I to be honest social situations don't seem to be his strong point.

I miss you too, dearly, you've got no idea. But it shouldn't be too long, the required enlistment is only a year, I've got three or so months left; that's something to look forward to, right? I know it's not much but I will try to write more often; but just let it be known that even if I am unable to write back, your letters are of a deep comfort to me. There's dozens of things that remind me of home, but none of which really feel like home.

I haven't met many people, it seems that Paris is a sort of hub for different troops on their way in and out. It makes it hard to foster friendships when you never know if you or they might be leaving... among other things. It should prove interesting, however, as we're getting a shipment of troops from Poland in a weeks time, they're integrating for the boarder stand off. One can only hope things go well.

I hope you're doing well; please, please take care of yourself for me.

Love,
Charles
